Ericsson will be back for Game 1, his surgery is as about as easily recovered from as a mole removal. Holland did say Big Rig had some 'tenderness' but it's probably just a soft spot for romance movies, nothing to be afraid of.

I change nothing during the playoffs. No avatar (hence it never changing, maybe I'll change it if the Wings start sucking some day in the distant future), no name, no change of toothpaste brand, nothing different. Plus I'm not really bothered when peoples on the interwebz poke fun at an internet avatar. It's not a polo, by the way. That's a workout shirt that has a fold down collar. And I'd never 'pop my collar' because I'm not a date rapist.

W00t. Can this be the end of our injury problems? Like no more exploding organs and suddenly injured superstars? kthanx

Amazing Penalty Kill by Zeterb....HELM?!
Drake_Marcus replied to pokemonbreeder18's topic in General
Man, with his new contract there's no way Hank doesn't have a nicer set of wheels than Sergei. He probably went and got the sexiest set of suddenly discount mega-sweet-corvette-super-special-edition wheels he could find -
Please don't! Zetterberg was looking forward to skating around him to draw the ill-timed penalty.

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
Drake_Marcus replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
Possibly, but like the guy above me mentioned, it's no sure thing. Good call on Leino though- I forgot about him at the moment. -
Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
Drake_Marcus replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
That's only if the NHLPA refuses to use their option to increase the cap by 5%, and since they've already said they are going to use that option if the cap dips below this season I'd say we're safe. It's in the NHLPA's best interests to do whatever they have to to keep the cap from dropping- their members don't want to start being demoted, offered smaller contracts and assulted in back rooms. -
Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
Drake_Marcus replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
I think the line is right at 2.615 and the 1st and 3rd rounder. The thing is that Hudler will probably sign for something around that before the offer sheet if the Wings offer him enough term. I dunno, I just don't see them letting him walk because there's no one in the system to replace him... he's the last high scorer we'll see from the prospect pool for another 3+ years. -
Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

Doesn't matter if Conklin agreed to play for the league minimum. If Howard isn't here at the start of the season next year the Wings expose him to waivers. -
Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

No way would the Wings not match a 2.7 million offer sheet on Hudler. He's worth more than a 2nd. You're not going to have much luck trying to find a 50+ point player with even more upside using only a 2nd- odds aren't great you can draft that kind of player even with a 1st. -
Wow, in that case nice work. I'll give my avatar a pep talk on staying animated
-
He's fine. He was being facetious.
-
Irony. Rove would be so proud of his handy work if he met you.
-
You know me- I never joke around
-
Wow... so how much of this is from the radio commercial and how much is a shot in the nuts? I've never heard the commercial in question.
-
Oh snap!
-
Yeah, both Holland and Babcock have complained about the schedule changing and the back to back.
-
Well last year's simulation was remarkably correct- even predicting Samuelsson's goal scoring outbursts in games 1 and 2. Hopefully they're correct about the result except the Wings win it in 6 games.

Growing up I was a fan of Lemieux... I even picked up a Pens jersey on sale when I was 7 or 8 years old. I only remember the age because I recently found a picture of me wearing it around the house (which shocked me until I remembered that I liked Mario). Don't worry- I had a Wings jersey too
-
Wow... McFarlane makes a hard poop Sidney.
-
Yeah dude, we already did see. Remember last year? Nothing that happens this year changes last- that's already set in stone.

Aw, what the hell, I got off work early today. Let's take Franzen and normalize his points and time on ice to compare him fairly with Crosby and Malkin, ok? Sidney Crosby: Even TOI = 16,026 sec Even Pts= 9 G, 10 A Even Pts/TOI = 5.6159x10^-4 G/sec , 6.2399x10^-4 A/s PP TOI = 5,920 sec PP Pts = 5 G, 4 A PP Pts/TOI = 8.4459x10^-4 G/sec , 6.7568x10^-4 A/s PK TOI = 193 sec PK Pts = 0 G, 0 A Totals= 14 G, 14 A, 28 pts Evgeni Malkin: Even TOI = 15,498 sec Even Pts = 7 G, 9 A Even Pts/TOI = 4.5167x10^-4 G/sec , 5.8072x10^-4 A/sec PP TOI = 6,118 sec PP Pts = 5 G, 7 A PP Pts/TOI = 8.1726x10^-4 G/sec , 1.144x10^-3 A/sec PK TOI = 93 sec PK Pts = 0 G, 0 A Totals= 12 G, 16 A, 28 pts Johan Franzen: Even TOI = 15,180 sec Even Pts = 7 G, 6 A Even Pts/TOI = 4.6113x10^-4 G/sec , 3.9526x10^-4 A/sec PP TOI = 3,355 sec PP Pts = 3 G, 3 A PP Pts/TOI = 8.9419x10^-4 G/sec , 8.9419x10^-4 A/sec PK TOI = 450 sec PK Pts = 0 G, 0 A Totals= 10 G, 9 A, 19 pts Franzen Playing Crosby's Mins: Points: 13 G, 11 A, 24 pts Franzen Playing Malkin's Mins: Points: 13 G, 11 A, 24 pts So if Franzen got Malkin or Crosby's mins he'd have 24 pts. It's not as impressive as their 28 pts, but it's a 5 point difference over Franzen's current totals. So for the guys here who say the minutes played aren't significant, well if you take a guy like Franzen and give him the extra PP time his totals jump by 26%. Is that realistic? Of course this stuff isn't so simple in real life, but the fact remains that minutes played have a definite effect on your point totals- especially PP time. In Detroit we see that with guys like Filppula who normally don't get PP time. Someone gets injured and suddenly Filppula's on the PP and producing points... Just look at Lebda- he's not a great d-man, but put him on the PP in Lidstrom's absence and he suddenly has more than 12 pts a year.
-
You shouldn't misrepresent the facts-- now I'm going to have to go and use some stats on ya. Sorry, I didn't want to have to do this Sidney Crosby: Total TOI/G = 21:42 (9th) PP TOI/G = 5:48 (3rd) PK TOI/G = 0:11 (122nd) (note that Ovechkin, who you guys say doesn't play defense is 124th on that list with 0:10) PP TOI = 98:40 (17 Game Total) PK TOI = 3:13 (17 Game Total) PP/PK = 30.7 Evgeni Malkin: Total TOI/G = 21:17 (12th) PP TOI/G = 5:59 (2nd) PK TOI/G = 0:05 (132nd) PP TOI = 101:58 (17 Game Total) PK TOI = 1:33 (17 Game Total) PP/PK = 65.8 Henrik Zetterberg: Total TOI/G = 22:07 (6th) PP TOI/G = 3:24 (34th) PK TOI/G = 2:14 (40th) (after the 15th guy the TOI drops below 3 mins, so the difference is pretty small in that gap) PP TOI = 54:24 (16 Game Total) PK TOI = 35:50 (16 Game Total) PP/PK = 1.5 Yeah, so you're totally right, your boys are super balanced.
