NO! MY Cheezburger! LOLZ, You can has babies.
-
Hell yeah man. You gotta admit, though- it feels great after watching these guys sleepwalk through most of the season.
-
OZZIE! OZZIE! OZZIE! I effing love post season Ozzie Do you see him out there? Confident, challenging shooters, this is the Ozzie that earned the title "Wizard of Oz". Keep up the good work Oz! Playoff Stats so far: 2-0, 97.8% Sv, 0.5 GAA Keep those numbers up and we're golden.

I know right? I mean it's not a huge deal, but having some robes around would at least make showering less awkward for the people sitting around taking off there gear that happen to be at junk level.
-
Admit it- you worked at Bed, Bath & Beyond. You crazy robe salesman.
-
You make a good point, actually. Ericsson is a recent convert to defense- he played forward for most of his career in Sweden. Last year in GR he sometimes played on the PP as a forward used to screen the goalie. I imagine his giant ass made an effective screen
-
Clearly Jason was trying to send his team the following message: Stop walking around the locker room naked after showering.
-
No need to worry about that. Ericsson is out of options in the minors at the end of this season. If the Wings don't keep him in Detroit next season they automatically expose him to waivers. In other words- he's definitely in the lineup permanently. Earlier this season Holland assured us Ericsson would be a member of the top 6 in 09-10. Plus he's super kick-ass wicked awesome sweet. Oh, and based on his play in GR, expect to see Ericsson provide more offensive output as he gets comfortable in Detroit- he's known as a smooth offensive defenseman back in the AHL, and that likely won't change as his minutes increase up in Detroit. Once Big E starts getting PP time and 1st/2nd pairing minutes we'll see his production increase.

Here here! You 'get it' Ms_Hockey

Well I guess we don't have a problem... Well played sir. Well played.

For example- the Islanders are apparently Take Away gods at home- 622 (1st by more than a 100), but they're very average in that area on the road- 236 (19th). The home totals for GvA and TkA have HUGE variances- (for TkA the teams vary between 622 and 157 at home) while the road totals are very evenly distributed (for TkA the teams vary between 294 and 197 on the road). It's pretty clear that some rinks are very, very liberal in totaling give aways while others are very conservative. *** Note: This was really freaking time consuming for me to assemble. I literally had to write out each stat by hand using the box scores then add and calculate everything from there. NHL.com was of very little help here! **** Note: Individual statistics collected from (or calculated using stats taken from) nhl.com's 2008/2009 regular season database.

Congratulating a player on a job well done isn't eating crow, at least it isn't for me. I didn't write Ozzy off, but you'd have to be mentally impaired to say you didn't harbor even a single, small doubt about Ozzy walking into the playoffs based on his play this year. Ozzy played the best season of his career last year and the worst of his career this year. Does that mean I thought he couldn't turn in a great performance tonight? Hell no. It just means I was sitting there praying he'd play like he did in the playoffs last year and not like he did for 95% of the regular season this year. There are far to many people claiming the guy across the room is an extreme fan that hates/loves the team blindly, all the while spouting the opposite brand of blind posturing. "Have a little faith"? Apparently that means blindly assuming everything is 100% perfect and not using your critical thinking skills is somehow the smart move?!? Bulls***. Enough of this black and white horses***. Edit: I'm not just talking about you Wingnut. If you read all the posts in this thread you'll find that too many of them are bulls*** posturing, mud slinging and inane drawing the line in the sand.
-
He'd have to take a couple of other coaches with him if he's going to take the trap with him. But I'd certainly welcome the formal death of the trap.
-
I think you guys are missing the point of this thread (especially RedWingAbner). The point was to give Ozzy a virtual pat on the back for his fantastic play tonight. NOT to say "OMG I'm so sorry I doubted you Ozzy! We're definitely winning the Cup now!". And of course, it wasn't intended to give a certain ******-canoe (who wasn't quoted above) a chance to yap about bandwagon bs and fling mud. Once again- a great performance by Ozzy that I sincerely hope he follows up with another 15 wins before the playoffs end.
-
Yeah- I'm banned because I refused to take MD's constant sexual harassment (and after her constant provocation followed by 10 min bans I stood up for myself and told her off... leading to a permanent ban ). It's all good- now that the Wings won while I was banned my OCD demands the ban remain in place until either the Wings lose a game or the playoffs end with a 16-0 Wings record. I missed you guys and girls too, though. Although skipping all the disgusting comments from MD was a nice treat.
-
Have you seen Chris Mason's beard? I saw him with his helmet off last night and man oh man- he's got the beard of a lumberjack.
-
Yeah... I was definitely pumped that he got the game winner You should've heard me shout "f*** YEAH!" when Ericsson scored
-
I didn't give up on him either- most fans didn't full out give up. We just had some doubts based on his play this season that he could switch it on and be kick ass all of the sudden. He showed us at the end of the season that he was capable of turning it up, but man oh man- he didn't even hit that he could just explode into the kind of performance he had in the first period tonight. Ozzie was unbelievable in the first. Chris was the only reason it was 0-0 after 20 mins.
-
Speaking of tonight, and the man in your signature. Hossa was a beast tonight! It was weird that he didn't get a point, but he was definitely trailing a pair of exasperated defensemen behind him all night.
-
Hahaha. Sums up the bipolar feelings of hockey fans toward their goalie pretty well

Ok guys and gals- look out for a similar style comparison added to this thread that covers the game tonight. GO WINGS! -
The Lightning are in trouble? Wow. The had one of the most supportive fanbases of any expansion team in recent memory. Hell- they were selling out their first rink from season 1 on (even though it was a temporary solution that had terrible sightlines and generally sucked as far as rinks go). It's pretty sad if the Lightning ownership managed to squander the kind of goodwill and support their team had for years.
