Ugggg... why Sammy on the pp point when we're down 7-2? Just put Big Rig out- there's nothing to lose.
-
Kiss the Cup contender status goodbye in that case. It's a near-miracle for a little known backup like Conks to walk in and carry a team to a cup. It's not impossible, but certainly not a likely scenario. WOOO! Downey scores!

Why did they announce that as an unassisted goal? Rafalski really got short-changed there... he definitely earned that assist. Why would a professional defenseman throw a puck out infront of his net blindly? Yeah Zetterberg was skating by, but Rafalski isn't Mario ******* Lemeuix- he should look where he's passing instead of casually throwing the puck out. f*** me. That Umberger goal was BRUTAL. I'm so god-damned angry right now. f***. Murray scores. Am I in the ******* 3rd circle of hell?

Man... the Wings can't buy a break. Kronwall suddenly falls on his ass with a forechecker right behind him to scoop up the puck. Thank god Ericsson was their to scoop the puck up and toss it out before the Jacket got to it. *Sigh* Now I guess I can forgive Big Rig for the gaff at centre ice that ultimately lead to the goal (with Rafi's help).
-
Raise your hand if you said "Goal" outloud before Nash even shot the puck. *raises hand*
-
Thanks Rafalski. *sigh* To be fair- Ericsson recovered well on his gaff near centre ice. He played his man exactly like he was supposed to. How did Rafalski fail to make that clear? Fricking ice it if you have to- the Wings are the best face-off team in the league. Brutal.

You, sir, must not have had to sit through a curling match.

Bless her. My heart goes out to the Howe family

So... Kopecky. 1 goal, 2 assists and a +2 tonight. He's put 6 points up in his last 5 games. That's a damn nice stretch of hockey for someone almost everyone gave up on. Yeah- I'll eat my crow for saying Kopecky should be shown out of town. Turns out Kopecky needs confidence and a full season of play to really get up to speed. He looked great out there tonight and has looked great for a few weeks now. I just hope he can keep this play up until June

Tell that to the Wings management. He's also a former AHL all star and has a 100.1 mph slapshot. What's your point? He's the #1 prospect on the Wings depth charts and receives praise form other teams and their fans. Hell, even the TSN guys were frothing at the mouth over him. Did you even watch any of his 10 games he's play in the NHL?

Hilarious! Thanks for the link I looooovvve AD. I think I'll go watch the DVDs right now...

I agree... he's kind of like a more extreme Filppula... his play almost completely dependent on him feeling confident (much more so than your average NHL player). Is there some way to make Filppula and Kopecky permanently confident?
-
The scary thing is even though he's cleary not settled in out there he's still amazingly good for a rookie d-man. He was definitely the 4th best d-man tonight. That's an impressive feat for a rookie who's played just 10 games in the NHL, and only 2 games this year. Did I mention he just came back from a serious injury and still wears a cast on his wrist?
-
FILPPULA! Why can't he be this confident all the time? He's like Dr. Jackel and Mr. Hyde. Confident Filppula finds the net when he shoots... the other Filppula shoots wide Someone hire Filppula a permanent cheering section and some hawt cheerleaders.

Downey looks great out there. He's got tons of jump, he's skating his bag off, he's hitting and, most importantly, he's being an absolute piss ant!

Wooo! The Wings added Hossa to their Cup winning team and got to have him for the entire season. That's a great addition in my books. I don't really care if the addition happened back in July At least all my hockey cards are accurate (even if 90% have Hossa wearing a Pens uniform ). Edit: I'm disappointed Holland couldn't add Neil or Laperriere)... San Jose added PK skill and grit, it's actually pretty disappointing we couldn't add some of the same. But I can definitely understand why Holland didn't end up making a deal, even ignoring the cap issues. The Wings already have too many NHL players on their rosters, adding more isn't going to help with the log jam on the fourth line or third pairing.

Phoenix Coyotes -- Worst organization in sports
Drake_Marcus replied to RedLightGoesOn's topic in General
I have to agree. Phoenix just got a lot faster (Lombardi and Upshall) and all they had to lose was a player that would be gone anyway and a player that didn't even remotely mesh well with his teammates. On top of that Prucha scored 30 as a rookie (with help from Jagr) and Dawes isn't a complete write off. The loss of Carcillo is crappy for them because he had a stellar season in 07-08, but in the long run he's very much a replaceable asset. Phoenix significantly improved their team today compared to what it'd likely look like next October had they failed to make these moves. -
Looks like the Red Wings & the Sharks battling off the ice, Robert

Maybe Chelios needs a bridge partner? -
All that and a 100 mph slapper The Wings can't complain one tiny bit about how Big Rig played last night
-
Ian Lapierre! Please Holland? He's exactly the Drake type we need on the 4th line!

Nope. I'm just saying he's had a great two weeks of play and deserves some credit for it. I've always called him useless and clearly I was wrong because he's been rather useful for the last few weeks. That doesn't mean I'm saying he's still not a weak link on this team- just that he deserves some credit for proving some of us wrong (even if it's only temporary ).

The speed at which the door retracts is fixed. If the cart's going fast enough the door won't retract in time and you would hit your head. As you can see in the video- Ovi has to pull his head back to avoid hitting it. He obviously has more than enough time to do that based on how slowly he had to react in the video, so it's not amazingly dangerous. But it's still not something your franchise player should be doing That video was probably more dangerous for the owner's health than Ovi's.

More serious than a bump, but probably not fatal unless they were extremely unlucky in how their neck bent. Most likely? Mild concussion and a neck sprain.
