Howard's had some very strong games in GR this year and Larsson had a bad streak of games recently- even being pulled at one point. That being said- I'm disappointed that Howard hasn't leaped ahead in GR like he did the year before this year, but I'm excited at how well Larsson's adjusted to the NA game and how great he was in training camp.

Wake up measures? I heard from an inside source that Babcock splashed cold water in every player's face! He even put an extra loud analog alarm clock in Lidstrom's hockey bag.

It'd be nice if in the future the Friday game start times could be thrown up with the games on the first page. That way people who aren't expecting a game to start at noon on a Friday (how often does that happen!?! I'm guessing it's because the US had a holiday this weekend? There was no holiday here, though) have a warning that they might be attacked for mistaking start times.

He didn't outplay Meech or Lebda on the Wings. He's done it after the move to LA. All the power to him in LA- Q is a good guy and deserves a chance to get big minutes, but he'd never have gotten that chance in Detroit.

the thing was- I had no idea there were early games this Friday. Otherwise I wouldn't have bet at all on them. Regardless- I was ignorant of the result and this is a friendly game with no prizes for the winners.

I'd trade Ozzie for Turco right now- only because Turco's a fairly young All-Star goalie that's struggling but is too damn talented to keep strugling. Incidentally, Ozzie's too talented and focused to maintain these poor numbers. He'll bounce back by the time April rolls around.

I didn't even look at the scores AND I used a dice to make my bets. Only you would be enough of a dick to bring that up when we happen to have a matinee game for the first Friday I can remember. 3pm is certainly a reasonable time to submit your choices for this contest, as can be seen from the number of people that did just that. Stop trying to stir up s***- especially when you're doing so with members that have 500 times the credibility you do.

Why? So we can dump him this summer? Ericsson is playing in the top six next season. The Wings are already in a defensive log-jam. Adding another 3rd string d-man to the roster (Quincey) wouldn't solve our problems. Someone had to be dumped so they chose the least experienced player with the least up-side. Note that you've pointed out that Ericsson and Meech both outplayed Q last year. Why keep Q then? The top 4 d-men are already signed for next season. And Q has two NHL ready prospects that sit ahead of him in the depth charts.

More because the poster in question completely fails to grasp how cap era hockey works and apparently believes that taking a sample of these players when one's at his highest value and the other two their lowest (well that only applies to Lebda) is in any way valid. Holland would've been retarded to ditch Lebda or Meech for Quincey because Quincey's the inferior player. Period. Quincey was inferior in GR, the preseason AND every damn call up he's had since the 07 playoffs. No one in the NHL found him attractive enough to trade for. That's pretty damn telling in and of itself.

God I hope not! And to be fair- Lidstrom's vision's been off ever since he switched to the visor- he was still offensively strong in the preseason. I'm pretty sure we'll see Lids' stats back up where they usually are by season end. His skating, movement and the rest just hasn't changed very much. His vision being off still would make sense all things considered.

Hahaha. Suuuureeeee... Has nothing to do with Cleary and Holmer being out against one of the eastern cup favourites and us needing forwards that can contribute for more than a 30 second fight. This move only sucks because they dropped the ball and called up Helm instead of Leino when Lenio's the one we have to convince to stay here.

I think we need to figure out how to de-age Lidstrom back to 30 years old! That's the kind of youth the wings need- an extension of Lidstrom's playing career.
