Nashville still has a fairly deep group of youngsters, right? I thought they had some decent players coming up through the ranks but I could be wrong. Obviously next season won't be as competitive for the club, which is unfortunate given how much Nashville needs to see a successful hockey club and feel drawn to buy some tickets. Making the club less competitive seems like a poor choice overall if they want to stay in Nashville, no?

Tons of it, but in the end he's not really big enough to get the ice time he deserves on this team. Leaving the NHL would be a stupid move for him though, as he has loads of talent and just needs to convince someone to give him the minutes to put up the points.

That boy has a heart that bleeds redwings, no question where he signs. The wings won't spit in his face by any measure, but he won't need a Philly contract either. Rafalski and De Vries are both viable options, but don't rule Souray out. While I don't like the idea of spending a bunch of money on Souray, but if he sees us as a potential route to a cup ring, then he'd likely be willing to come here at a discount. Guys who still haven't drank from the cup are more likely to come to hockey town then mercenaries.

Don't give me the "Canadian bias BS". The people who vote are well versed on the subject of hockey and have seen the marque games Lari played on the world AND NHL stage. I'm not saying this as a Wings fan, but as a hockey fan- Lari will be recognized as one of the greatest players of his generation, hands down. He may have entered the NHL older then most, but he put up damn good numbers given the situation he was in. And, above all, the HHOF understands the international hockey politics enough to know what it would mean to snub one of Russian hockey's greatest players. I mean honestly, what did you think Fets was let in for? Just his NHL career?

Care to compare Feds' best year to Lang's best? No one, ever, would call Lang on the same level as Feds is in terms of their careers. One is a future HoF member who took the hockey world by storm when he entred the league and played at that level for years, declining as he hit his mid thirties (as most players do!). I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though, because you're a cool poster with well backed opinons, I did have to call the stat thing out as a hardcore Feds fan.
