Am I the only one that....

hahaha, pwned. I agree on your sig Crazy, 'cept I say we let Lang dip his toes in the FA market and take a walk. Honestly, he was poison for 80% of the season and not worth the position as a 2nd line centre by a longshot. I'll give him this much though- he's still got talent burried in that hulking frame... but he fails to utilize it often enough to justify the roster spot.

    Wings Favorites in 08

I'm calling bulls*** on that Cheli comment. Cheli was INSANE all playoffs. He was just fantastic. Played smart, heads-up hockey. Just because he doesn't grind it out all night like he did in the old days doesn't mean he wasn't a real factor out there. He was definitely playing as #2. And Lillypads really steped it up out there. I'll take him over Quincey next year any day.

Datsyuk 8 goals and tops for points!

Wow, that's a nice little dream world you live in there. And where does the responsibility lay in the 5 or so guys with more scoring expectations then Dats those years? I'd give him more of a chance then that. It's only been 3 game since that hit, and he came out to set up a goal right after the hit, so don't be too harsh. I wouldn't be surprised if was a little shaken up after having his head crushed. I would be. But he's hard as balls, we've seen him smashed around like a pinball before. He'll be fine after some rest. No one plays at their full physical ability this late in the playoffs unless they're incredibly lucky.

I hope the rest of the team thinks as intelligently as you!

Game 3: Kopecky in, Calder out

I don't buy that general logic. Huds is small, sure, but so is Dats. 5'11 isn't much to write home about in the NHL. Yet we've seen that just playing physical and keeping your head up does more then being 6'4 and putting around the ice. I think it's retarded that Kopec is going in instead of Huds. Kopecky hasn't shown a whole lot of impresive play, certainly not compared to Huds who got similar minutes, so throwing him in because he's big is like replacing Dats with Bert because Bert's so big. Well, not that extreme, but you see what I'm getting at.

What a crock of ... It

BUT, we all know you've gotta roll with the punches, and this is one game, and in the end the Ducks wanted it just a tiny bit more, as we saw in the overtime. Hey, it's no biggy, the wings have won series they split at home before.

What a crock of ... It

Because it was a bush goal? AND your coach called both our goals last game flukey and gave no credit to the wings for playing good playoff hockey (where flukey goals win cups- it's all about chances). This is an instance where the complaining fans have a valid point. According to the NHL rulebook you guys lost.

Datsyuk in the Playoffs So Far

I'm pretty sure the fact that 91 said we had to keep Pav speaks for more then anything anyone here can say.

Petition to Tether Hasek to the Net

Hahaha. I was telling my Dad yesterday that Hasek has a small explosive implanted in his heart that is set to go off if he hasn't touched a puck in the past 5 minutes. It's a serious condition, and totally makes his wandering seem reasonable.

    Go Ducks

You really have no clue what the hell you're talking about, do you? Rob Niedermayer is from Cassiar, BC, CANADA. Maybe you got him confused with Scott Niedermayer? Oh, wait, Edmonton isn't in Poland, is it? Next up, you speak derisively about Luongo's French Canadian heritage after touting your awesome Giggy. BUT Giggy is from the same fricking city as Luongo! And how the hell is Giguere the best regular season goalie? Apparently being 6th in GAA, 10th in W, 8th in PCT, and 18th in SO makes you the best regular season goalie?!?! {note, goalies with fewer than 21 games aren't counted in these numbers, and only one goalie with under 40 games (Mike Smith) was counted, and he only showed up in one list). Is Giguere an unbelievable goalie? Hell yeah. Was he the best in the regular season? Only if half the league died. Does he have 6 Vezina's? Nope. Only two goalies in history have gotten that many, and guess who one of them is... And before you call Hasek old- he beat your young goalie in 2/3 keystone stats this regular season and already owns a spot in the HoF. Once again, though, I want to reiterate that I think Giguere is an unbelievably good goalie- I was a fan of his back when I watched him play his major junior carrier in Halifax. But I'm not going to stand here and listen to you talk out of your ass about stats.

SJ Fans.. What Happened to the sweep?

I'm loving that you're cheering us on! I'm like that to- if a team takes the Wings out of the playoffs it almost feels "ok" later if that team wins the cup, right? There's less shame losing to the league champions then to eventual losers. Stay on the boards bro! It'll be a tough series, but the Ducks aren't as good as the Sharks so I'm not as scared as I was for the SJ series. GO WINGS! Anyone interested in reading what Samadelphia had to say about us on the sharks site? Samadelphia

SJ Fans.. What Happened to the sweep?

No, actually it was 90% of the Shark fan posts calling for that, 80% of those came from one troll that disappeared after game 2. 90% of the Sharks fans were class acts. Thanks for being great fans guys! Some of us remember more then just the trolls

    Summer 2007 Wishlist?

Hell- I'd settle for any one of the three.
  23. In no perticular order, here are the teams that I think are a few equinoctials away from being real beasts. Note that I've left off teams like the Pens- we all know they could be the next Oilers/Islanders dynasty team. These are just teams that are missing some pieces. 1. The Devils: If they keep Gomez (which I'll bet they will or at least get a great return on him since Marty won't be around forever) and add another few goal scorers as well as pick up a new coach/assistant coach (depending on if Lou plans to internally promote as per rumours) they'll be pretty sick next season. I know people fear them already, but I was really hoping we'd face them in the finals because a strong opposing goaltender would have been their undoing. They just couldn't roll 4 scoring lines out there. And let's face it- you can't walk into the playoffs with a team that's used to winning off 2-1 games consistently, regardless of your tender. You'll always run into teams that can score 3 or 4 goals a night and if you can't pony up when your tender lets in some extra goals then you're too shallow of a team to deserve the win. Great goalies need great teams in front of them or Kipper wouldn't have bought a sleeve of balls ten minutes ago. 2. The Lightning: This is entirely dependant on whether they manage to dump the weeping sore of an overpayed player that is Richards. If they're forced to dump Lacav or St.L I expect we'll see them wallowing in the sad 16. If, however, they do something clever, like trading a financial woe for a brilliant young goaltender, watch out! They got to the first round on the play of one line alone. When your 1st line is young and capable of dragging a mediocre team through a horrible first half and into the playoffs you have a good team to build on. Truth be told, though, I have a hard time seeing them doing a whole lot next seasons for one reason: the owner/market. By imposing a $40 mill cap on a team that's missing key pieces but has a few brilliant players waiting to be pouched away he's damning that team for the next 5-10 years. Or maybe not. I'm not a GM. 3. The Thrashers: Marian Hossa, Ilya Kovalchuk and Kozlov are amazing. Koz may be getting older, but he's not getting worse. Zhitnik obviously proved to be an important component for this team given the impact he had along with Tkachuk (whos name always reminds me of a skate component). I really thought they'd go deeper this post season, and that should tell you how much I really know about hockey tongue.gif 4. The 'Nuks: They've been on the edge of awesomeness for a while now, and it turns out this new goalie of theirs almost makes up for the demise of their once feared top line. Plus we all know the Sedin twins are only gonna get better. This is another team that's a few aquisitions away from being sweet. I can see an underrated or under performing but talented forward blossoming on that team. It's clear they've got an amazing netminder for quite a few years to come and a talented top line, the rest is aquireable, no? 5. The Wild: Demitra, Rolston, Gaborik, and Koivu (he's only gonna get better!). Oh yeah, add to that a pair of decent goalies and obviously capable D. I think they'd really benefit from the aquisition of a high-scoring D to throw on the point during the PP. What do you guys think? I hope the Thrashers GM doesn't give up now, that team has cool uniforms! EDIT: Took care of some spelling issues, but I'm really missing my computer right now

    Goodluck to all

He's doing it in a good way, like "man, this beer tastes a hell-of-a-lot better than a glass of warm piss" or "I'd rather sleep with her than Jacko wearing a wig".
