Easy chip-on-shoulder. You're taking a non-representative sample and running with it- something the Sharks fans widely criticized us of doing just a few days ago. And since WHEN are the Sharks not getting respect? Have you read any of the analyst predictions? They aren't rosy for ME to read. Hahaha- says the guy who gets all nitty gritty about fight specifics down the the minors.
-
Neat, but even IF the Wings are a push over, you're going to be walking into the firing squad of the Ducks/Buffalo.
-
Yes, you nailed it. By your math there are 8.3 refs in the NHL.
-
And what's so horrible about Sharks in 7? The difference between winning or losing the seventh game is usually pretty small, so I see that analysis as fairly encouraging given how our season series against SJ turned out. We'll get 'em, but I think it'll take 7 games of hard fricken work. Whoever walks away from this series is going to have to work for the win.... and assuming the Ducks win their series (a fair assumption) it's not going to be a cake-walk to the SCF either. Bring it.

9-4 was Hasek, as I'm sure others have since pointed out. This is a different team then the one that lost it to SJ that night, and I'm sure the Sharks are a battlehardened team after facing the Nashville cheap shot bonanza last round. Hopefully we can feel a bit better knowing that Nashville gave them a run for their money (despite the 4-1 series outcome, if you watched the games they were closer then that suggests) and we owned Nashville all season. So, by the transitive property- Wings rule! Wings in 7!

Excellent use of Caps I agree! Don't forget Chelli's amazing short-handed snapper.
-
Awww- you had some Nashville fans on your board, eh? We had some troll ours back in the regular season, but we also have a couple that regularly post here and are intelligent hockey fans (well except for their questionable choice in fandom).

While it's clear that Maguire is a ****** bag, I can't stand Bob McKenzie- every time he opens his mouth I feel like punching someone.
-
I don't think it was Kipper being a wuss, just the Calgary team being overprotective of their meal ticket and trying to use the NHL rulebook to their fullest benefit (which is exactly what any smart team would do!). That being said- of course I got tired of hearing them ***** about Kipper being treated like an NHL goalie and not a 13 year old girl with hemophilia.

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....

Oh I have no fear about SJ playing dirty hockey. They're not a dirty team like Nashville. They're just a clean, gritty, young squad with tons of talent. But as a Wings fan I'm confident we'll dispense some Detroit style justice. Bert better keep ramping it up and turning into old skool power forward Bert, and Calder better get back to his pre-playoff form. Wings in 7 (blood will flow) I've got a whole ton of respect for this SJ squad, so I'm not going to take anything for granted. But I really wish we were playing a Canadian team so I could actually watch the games CBC is never going to play SJ vs. Detroit... *sigh* Actually, I'm a fan of Ottawa when it comes to the Eastern teams left in the race. They're a lot like the 97/98 Wings. In the words of Drake Marcus: Q.E.D. Biaaatch. -
Well we're in this together, sure, but I have no furry hats or jonty get-ups to wear, so unity in avatars is out... I guess unity in purpose is the only resort!

Awwww Dubura's taken it upon himself to singlehandedly move this forum onto hockey topics. Good luck my friend, most of us gave up long ago and seek refuge from our daily lives in bantering posts here and there.

Am I a bad verbal sparring partner if I actually agree with that post?

Hey bro- that feeder tank site was actually fun to read. I love the article on Nashville.

Duh- about shoveling snow. You couldn't clear a drive way before supper if your wife's porshe was pushing the shovel for ya Wait, I've confused the issue. What are we talking about? Edit: I'm being weird, sorry.
-
You're 100% right. While we aren't a bunch of softies, we're not as hard as the Sharks. We do, however, have the better 5-on-5 team. The powerplay, however, is a scary prospect when playing San Jose...
-
Well I didn't see him bump Kipper at all. And I recognized Hasek's rep, but that doesn't change the fact that he does get bumped and hit and nudged just like Kipper does. It's part of hockey, and in the end the Flames got it no worse then any other team does/did this year.

BUT so is constantly showing up to shove this stuff in their faces. Just cool it dude. Everyone knows which of us panic and which don't, but the classy people DON'T rub everyones noses in it. I never panic and dis the Wings, but I also don't post smug threads mocking others for doing so. I do, however, respect the quality of your spelling and grammar as well as your ability to eloquently express your points (hell we need that around here!)

Ummm, like the time YOUR players pushed our player into Kipper and a goal was disallowed as a result? That was in Game 5- in Hockeytown. Don't give me that BS. The refs don't call it when you player TRIPS Dom behind his net during a play and we let it go- everyone here expects Dom to get shafted by the officials- he has a bad rep for flopping and as a result he gets stiffed in every other area (see: Peter Forsberg). Regardless, this interference with Kipper garbage is retarrrrddded. You guys interfered with Dom just the same- and so does EVERY other team with EVERY other goalie.

Lets give credit to players that had a great series

Sammy was great in terms of backchecking and general two-way play. I also saw a few nice passes and take-aways from him. For me, however, the big surprise of the series was Lillypads. He was really doing well in the last quarter of the regular season, but it's clear he's found his identity on the Wings: defensive play with a dash of muscle. A far cry from what we saw in the first half of the season! It's hard to imagine, but Lilly is actually the enforcer now! Also, I love seeing Bert knock the other team around and I really hope he stays in Hockeytown for the years to come. -
It's the same thing on these forums.
-
That's how I feel too! Stick around man, hopefully you can watch the Wings get to the finals!
-
That or he's remorseful. Nah, let's just assume the worst about every human being and live sad, hateful lives.

You do that and I'll mail you a cheque for the box of eggs.
