Per TSN: McLennan suspended 5 games, Lebda out for Game 6

Yeah- Z hides a shiv in those big red socks. When Z assaults an opposing player, he ASSAULTS an opposing player.

    Wings fans acting like babies

There's no need to be such a dick about it. I agree that the NHL got it right, but Langkow should have gotten a game for that attack on Lebda after the check- that was a dangerous and terrible move on his part and should be punished.

Wow, you can post on LGW from your cell phone? Because this reads like a 10 year old girl's text message.

    Post-Game 3: Flames 3, Red Wings 2 (4/17)

BS. That's like saying: stop hiring supreme court justices from the US! Hire impartial judges from Austrailia. And yeah, the reffing was kinda bad, but whatever- the Wings had some generous calls the last two games and guess what? Bad bounces, bad calls and bad luck happens. The boys weren't playing 100% last night, they weren't even playing 80%. -->Lids made some key errors that were distinctly un-Lids-like -->Zetter was skating great but far too easy to knock off the puck and often lacked that second effort he is known for (hell it was like Cleary stole his heart and played with double the enthusiasm) -->Dats wasn't shooting enough, although he was pretty good with the puck, he definitely wasn't playing as well as he has for the last 15-20 games -->Bert looked half lost out there and wasn't hitting nearly often enough. Remember how much Cleary's hit got the boys reved up? Well if a 250 lb man did that it would've shut the crowd up too. -->Lang actually looked a bit better then last game, but still isn't bringing it like we've been told he does in the playoffs -->Schnieds took a bad penelty to start the game off- giving them the momentum they didn't need (from our prespective) On the positive side: -->Lebs led a great little rush at the end that only barely got shut down -->Cheli was fantastic on the PK -->Z managed to hold of 4 Flames players durring a dump-in shift change -->Cleary played like a man possessed and got under the entire Calgary team's skin, he's definitely still playing the hockey we saw the team play the last two games -->I saw Dats throw some checks and maintain the puck on his back after a fall -->We battled it out and stayed neck-and-neck in what should have been the best play we'll see from Calgary. In other words, a mediocre Wings team keep up with a red hot Flames -->Apparently Calgary jersies grow on trees

    Nashville's Playoff Behaviour

Tonight's game: NHL Offical Score Sheet Wednesday's Game: NHL Official Score Sheet First I'll give a quote from the CBS sportsline report on today's game: The worst of the rugged play came much earlier. Radulov skated up and elbowed Steve Bernier into the boards at 4:44 of the second period, snapping Bernier's head back before the Sharks forward fell face-first onto the ice. A gurney was called for before Joe Thornton and Marcel Goc helped him off. So far (as in the first two games!) here are the most concerning stats: Hartnell: 3 Game misconducts 1 Kneeing (major) 1 Unsportsmanlike conduct (minor) 1 Fighting (major) Tootoo: 1 Game misconduct 1 Fighting (major)--> took a swing at Clowe from behind 1 Boarding (major) Radulov: 1 Game misconduct 1 Checking from behind (major) Forsberg: 1 Diving (hahahahaha) I think Hartnell's got an automatic 1 game suspension now, right? Here are the notible actions from Hart, Tootoo and Rad in their last few pre-playoff games: April 5th against St. Louis: Hartnell: Roughing and Unsportsmenlike (with 10min misconduct) TooToo: Crosschecking and roughing March 31st: TooToo: Diving (hahaha), roughing, roughing Check out this list: NHL.com's Nashville Penelty Report According to that report the team had (these are the number of penelties, not the number of min) 32 games in which at least one major penelty was assigned, 41 majors assigned to the team overall 4 games with misconducts assigned, 4 total 4 games with game misconducts assigned, 4 total 28 games in which 7 or more penelties were assigned 15 games in which 9 or more penelties were assigned Comments?

I agree. He's played great for Team Canada and amazing for the Flames. I wish we had him here. He certainly doesn't strike me as an "*******".

    Phaneuf's cheap shot on Z

Hahaha- who'd have ever thought they'd hear Lilly referred to as an enforcer? 3 months ago- no one!

    Radulov suspended 1 game

He may have made a mistake, but in the end that mistake could have ended another man's career. So overall, one game missed is a good lesson to a talented young player.

    Bertuzzi OUT for Game 2

    Cool heads prevail.

    No suspension for Predators Hartnell

But he's reaaaalllly good. Ok, how about someone forces him to sign with the wings a knifepoint?

    Nashville's Playoff Behaviour

I disagree there. He's earned his reputation just fine. Of course I think his defense of the Preds' actions is insane, all I can do is point to the Predaganda: A message from the loony bin Ok, I'll give you that (but only because you started out with a clever ribbing).

    Nashville's Playoff Behaviour

If that's true then fair enough. It still doesn't absolve the coaching staff from some potential guilt here. It seems like someone must be encouraging or at the least condoning this behaviour, since it continues to happen with the Preds more often then any other teams, at least in a systematic sense (in other words- it happens to be that many players on this team are dirty and continue to be so, rather then an isolated enforcer type who steps over the line every once and a while). It's almost like a "Sean Avery" system they're using...

    Nashville's Playoff Behaviour

Yet, oddly, it's the same guys, game in and game out, these playoffs who seem to be hurting people.

    Nashville's Playoff Behaviour

Hey- I can understand the anger at that collision with Kipper. It's not like a Flame went out and pushed a Wing head first into the boards though. And that's the point really- some things are grossly WRONG behaviours in a hockey game. Thankfully neither the Wings nor the Flames are known to try and injure opposing teams.

    Nashville's Playoff Behaviour

I just want to add a little disclaimer here: I am not asserting that the Nashville organisation is bad, stupid, undeserving of existance, or any other such nonsense we sometimes see around here. I am singling out three players who, but the standards of the NHL rulebook were deserving of punishment (via penetlies) for their actions over the last two playoff games. This tread is not about trashing the Preds. This tread is about the grossly inappropriete behaviour of two Preds (Hartnell and Radulov) and the continued recklessly agressive behaviour of another (TooToo). Nashville fans: can you honestly back up Hartnell and Radulov's actions recently? Do you really believe boarding, kneeing, crosschecking and punching from behind belong in hockey? *Don't bother mentioning a certain Wings player who punched someone from behind- he's been punished and widely admonished for his actions (and rightly so!).

    4-13 NHL Playoffs GDT

Well I don't want to play a team that continually makes dirty, potentially career-ending plays. I'd rather a tough series and possibly an exit then see a wing's career ended on a Nashville cheapshot. Let's face it- it's clear that they just don't respect other players. Edit: Spelling-- "and" isn't the same as "an"

    A Flames fan perspective

Hey I'm not trash talking the flames for one big reason (aside from the players on your team that I wish we had): I know Calgary can play an effective game against us- I watched the match ups between our teams this year. I also know that the Flames don't just roll over after being embarrassed, in fact I've got a feeling that embarrassment will fuel your team even more. That being said- this was the best possible outcome for us last night. We had to show the flames we could put lots of pucks behind Kipper and that Dom wasn't going to be an easy target. Most impotently, we had to show the Flames that physical play and back-checking are in the Detroit play book. Finally, we had to gain the confidence of our avian fans. Luckily the bird world sent a goodwill ambassador to the Joe last night. And a little bird told me this morning that everyone from mag-pies to Big Bird are rooting for the Wings.

Non-Michigan fans: How did you become a Wings fan?

When my parents got divorced in 1993 my father moved from our home in Halifax, Nova Scotia back to his home province of Ontario. The reason? Chum, the company he worked for, wanted him to go run a station called 89x over in Detroit. So Dad set up camp in Windsor and every time I visited him I got an eye full of hockey town (he took me to see a game when I was 16, but I also watched all the games on tv because I guess it made me feel closer to Dad). Dad would mail me Wings jerseys to wear while I was growing up. Needless to say, I was pretty proud to wear my jersey in school the morning after Stevie ended the drought in '97!

Who is sitting out Game 2?

True that. Rabs and I have agreed lately that Lil has actually started to find a place on this team- playing a more physical game, shoring up his puck control, not taking on more then he can chew and watching his form. Overall I think he'll be smart and find a niche to fill
  21. Drake_Marcus

Who is sitting out Game 2?

Right on man. That's a damn good point!

Who is sitting out Game 2?

Honestly though, I think Huds has grown on Babs. Normally I'd say 100% he'd leave Sammy on even if Sam took a dump on the bench half way through the game, but this time Sammy's got no scapegoat... Although this is still Babs, so your guess is as good as mine. I really don't see sitting Huds as a smart move though- it's not going to motivate him like it would in the regular season, it'll probably hurt his confidence and he's still at the point where he doesn't have tons to spare...

    GAME 1 (4/12): Red Wings 4, Flames 1

So I guess this is actually the perfect game so far for us? Eh? Dats=SHUT-THE-F-UP-DOUBTERS! Z=Rust-shaking-offing. Everyone else=contributing! Kipper's self-confidence=slightly erroded Media naysayers=pwned Lids=Lids (and hey that's the highest damn complement a defenseman can get!) Calder=Getting all up in Kipper's grill MARCUS=HAPPY!

    GAME 1 (4/12): Red Wings 4, Flames 1

So, technically, if your star line isn't on the sheet we'd call that depth, right?

    GAME 1 (4/12): Red Wings 4, Flames 1

LIDS! WOOOOOOOOO! This is EXACTLY what the wings have to do. If we can manage a blowout tonight it'll shake some of their confidence they had based on the '04 series.
