If it brings hockey to more fans then I'm all for it. People who don't like hockey usually haven't had a chance to really watch it and enjoy it.

All of the 1st round Russians have elite offensive talent. The potentially available forwards I really, really want to see in a Winged wheel are: -Kabanov (top 3 talent but comes with baggage) -Galiev (compared by everyone to Datsyuk... put him with the real deal and see if he can learn) -Niederreiter (some mock drafts have had him fall into the teens so this would be a trade-up scenario) -Etem (his speed and offensive skills make him a game changer) -Skinner (could be a one year wonder, based on 09-10 season easily the best goal scorer in this draft) -Weal (broke 100pts in the WHL as a 17 year old... needs muscle and height but hopefully he's a late bloomer)

Only 18.9% of the NHL media voted for Crosby as the MVP. At least 81.1% of the media has their head screwed on straight. Don't sell yourself short. There are millions of people who disagree with you on Crosby. Next year they should just spring for a professional awards show presented by people with names you don't have to google and a script that isn't retarded, offensive or degrading to the NHL.
-
Dude-- it's no shocker that the same guys get nominated for the Hart get nominated for the Lindsay. But ok, you're right-- the NHL players voted that Ovechkin's a better player than Crosby for 3 consecutive years (no need to argue this further as I understand how synonyms work). I'm glad you agree that Crosby's peers continue to judge him as being a notch below Ovechkin.
-
So your response is that you know more about who's the most valuable player in the NHL than players in the NHL.
-
But to what end? I'm unaware of an advantage held by one race over another in hockey.
-
How is Carman going to justify this? Ovi was voted better than Crosby by a jury of his peers for the 3rd year in a row.
-
In terms of talent? Possibly. He's a notch below Ovi and Sid in terms of talent, but he did deserve the award this year. The entire Canucks team overachieved by a large margin last season. The Sedins won't disappear, though. They'll be up in the top 10 for points for a while.

It sucks that Dats didn't pick up the Byng but he'll rebound and get it next year. I'm happier that he got the Selke anyway.
-
Gainey entered the Hall of Fame in 1992. He scored 501pts in 1139 games (16 seasons). If Datsyuk ties Gainey's Selke record is he likely to get into the Hall? He'd be 3 cups (as of now) short of Gainey's 5 but played at an elite level offensively while Gainey did not. Datsyuk also will end up with a ton of Byng trophies (and likely the record for that trophy). If Datsyuk breaks Gainey's record and picks up more than 4 Selke trophies all while returning to his point per game form of the last 4 years, does that make him a lock?

I thought ABBA was Swedish. Wasn't Kronwall's Dad a member of their crew for a while?
-
And to be honest if he won the Calder it would just make him more expensive to sign next summer.
-
Do you think this trade made Chicago better? They're going to have to replace a third to a quarter of the team with minimum salary scrubs.
-
Datsyuk's resume continues to get more impressive: 1 nomination for Hart 2 Stanley Cups 3 Consecutive Selke trophies 4 Consecutive Lady Byng trophies (likely 5 by the end of tonight) All he has to do is keep his numbers above a point per game and do so for another 10 years and he's in the Hall

According to Mlive: At least Howard got 2nd.
-
Bettman has the monopoly on NHL related smugness.
-
It's disappointing because in my experience girls from Quebec can be very, very hot (and thus the opposite from lame). Adding them to spandex should result in win, not lameness.
-
Bwaahahahaha Suck it Crosby. You can't even take the MVP awards from Ovi when you play 10 extra games. Man, you think he could've beaten Ovi's point total with a 10 game advantage.
-
The utter disrespect for the game he's being PAID to host the ceremony for? It doesn't help that he obviously needs to hire a better writer.
-
And while lame, is a world renowned group.
-
Selke. If you can't take the obnoxious host here's a running list of the awards handed out: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=325503

And young! He was only 20. Not like that fake rookie Howard. If you're going to set the cut-off at a certain age don't hold age against the guys who are below that cut-off but aren't the minimum age either. Jimmy had no chance simply because he turned 26 at the end of March.
-
Actually it took at least 3 tries for Tampa to convince him. So the first contract must've been a real low-ball offer.
-
Well at least he based this rumour on things other people have speculated about. Adding Columbus to the mix is the funniest part. Toronto would jump at the chance to trade Kaberle for Savard. There's no point in making a part up for the Jackets in this fantasy rumour.
-
That's probably the only way he's still employed doing this. I wish I could be that inept and not get fired.
