Ericsson had an awful game tonight. But he hasn't been the worst d-man on the team in these playoffs. On an unrelated note-- Kronwall needs to step up offensively. He just hasn't been himself since returning and he was absolutely critical to our success in 08 and near success in 09.

f***. My. Life. Ericsson got caught down low and it just had to be Marleau and Thornton back at the time. Christ. This series exposed what we already knew-- Howard just isn't ready to be a Cup winner yet. Maybe he's just worn out after the stretch of 25 consecutive games at the end of the year. Maybe he just isn't mentally confident (that's what tonight looked like). In the end Howie lost this game for the Wings. Anyone else find it hilarious that all of the sudden the Wings are getting penalized left and right? How do you go from being the second least penalized team in the league to racking up penalties like the ******* Ducks? A pathetic third period by a team that had to win. Pathetic.

I just want to see Nabokov and Pavelski's diving called. Joe's had at least 3 blatant dives in the last two games.

I won't follow really closely but I'd catch the odd game. If we lose (and I don't say that lightly...) I'll be devastated. It'd be too hard to watch after seeing the Wings go down. That being said I'd have to hope the team that beat us won... at least that would take a little bit of the sting away. There's less shame losing to the champs than the guys who get beaten by the champs.

The Wings gave up 45 shots tonight. You honestly think Ozzie would've let less than 4 in at this point? We can't just assume 2008 or 2009 post-season Ozzy will jump over the boards on Tuesday.

Game 5 was rotten. I thought Rafalski had the Cup winning goal then it all fell apart. But game 7 of the SCF last year had to be the worst feeling after a game that I can remember.

By the same token you have to say that the Wings can't give up 44 shots on Howard. He may have let 4 goals in but he had a save percentage of 91.1%. You just can't let them take 44 shots on your goalie in the playoffs and expect good things to happen.

If arguing Crosby isn't better than Ovechkin means I'm denying his talent then apparently I must think the entire NHL is talentless. Crosby's won half of the Cup Finals he's participated in. Ovechkin's won 100% of the Cup Finals he's participated in.

So one goal and zero assists in all four elimination games isn't invisible? By your logic Semin was clutch in the playoffs this year. He may have had 1 point in the elimination round of the NHL season (playoffs) but hey-- he had 41 goals when you count the regular season. Thus he's a clutch playoff scorer in your eyes.

Crosby had (at MOST) 2 superior seasons. 3 - 2 = 1 Thus Ovechkin is a better player. Ovechkin has 2 MVP trophies. Crosby has 1. 2 - 1 = 1 Ovechkin is better. Ovechkin has 1 Calder trophy. Crosby has 0. 2 - 0 = 2 Ovechkin is better. Ovechkin had a better goal per game average this season. He played 10 fewer games and scored only one less goal. Thus Ovechkin is a superior goal scorer. Oh no. We're not saying that. Hockey is a team sport-- the refs deserve as much credit as the rest of their team.
