Give me a break. 3pts in 7 FINALS games in 09. 3pts in 6 FINALS games in 08. 6pts in 13 Finals games? Wow-- that's clutch. He had 1pt in 4 Canadian elimination games this year. Yeah, he had the game winning goal. So did McCarty. One good play doesn't change the fact that he wasn't there in the first three elimination games. He failed to do his job 75% of the time. Yeah, because in a 10 penalty game you can't ***** when two were BULLs*** goaltender interference calls where the goalie should've been called for diving and one involved a despicable dive by Pavalski. s***, did I miss anything? So at least 33% of the calls were an absolute joke. Ray Ferraro even called them as being phantom penalties. Apparently once there's a ligitimate penalty called against us the outrage of the fake ones suddenly lessens? Give me a ******* break. This game was bullf***ings***.

Ever notice that terrible, intellectually insecure writers/commentators like to substitute word length/obscurity for actual content? I've marked papers where it's clear that the student just used the synonym function in Word to try and make their writing look "smarter" but all they did was prove that they didn't actually understand the definitions of half the words they chose from the drop-down menu. Yeah, they scored 2 PP goals and we scored 0. It's pretty tough to win playoff games when your PK fails AND your PP fails.

I have an idea for Game 3 or 4. We'll need to find a group of people who are sitting together. Bring bristol board cards with numbers on them like 9.4, 10.0, 9.8, etc... Then when Devin or another Shark dives hold them up. Should make for a funny broadcast.

Jimmy had a very rough start and Z's line disappeared. That's a devastating combo. I believe it was VS that showed a stat last series that said Jimmy had a 1.75 GAA and .95 Sv% in his last 10 games following a loss (that was before game 4 I think).

Agreed. He's a bit of a disaster. Green's game is definitely not useful in the playoffs.

The sad thing about that is that the description voters are given for the Norris specifies that it should go to the best overall player and thus is intended to go to someone who plays excellent defense AND offense.

There's no question in my mind that Boudreau is not a competent post-season coach. He's absolutely terrible. 3 home game 7 losses in the last 3 years... wow.

That sleepwalking, rely on your guns team is the style of play we lost with last year. The hard-working, ass-kicking team we saw last game is like the one we won with in 08. I hope the Wings are extremely, extremely aware of that fact. The 09 Wings won't be remembered 10 years from now but the 08 Wings will... Babcock-- can you please make the team play like they did last game at least 16 more times this post season?

Ovi was Gretzky compared to Semin and Green. I mean seriously-- they did nothing (positive) tonight.

By the way, someone mentioned earlier that the Wings just might take the Sharks lightly. Andreas Lilja, a Wings d-man, submitted this blog entry today: I'd just like to point out that I have no idea why Lilja loves ! so much, but he certainly gets his money's worth. So there you go-- the Wings players aren't taking the Sharks lightly. Some fans will, but within the NHL there's still healthy respect for a line-up as formidable (and giant) as that of the Sharks.

That's the worst part. They play in a s*** conference and we have to suffer for it. Not that I don't believe the champs should have to overcome that obstacle, it just sticks in my craw.

Agreed 100%. I was disgusted with Hossa this summer. As it stands now I'm happy to see him gone from the Wings-- we didn't need another super high priced, ultra-long contract anyway. As it stands the Z and Franzen contracts will make cap management unwieldy for Holland once they start to decline. Adding another forward in that age group would only make life tougher. Plus I don't want to see his goofy face again unless it's helping us actually win.
