It's actually shocking that turnover isn't Rafalski's middle name. While I'd love to see Lilja hit I think he's worth having around for the PK alone. Ericsson's really not a stay at home d-man. He was an offensive d-man and pp QB in the AHL. He just happens to be giant. If you're excited about big d-men who play small you're going to loooovvvveee Kindl!

I've also heard great things about sportsk.com

You write the letter to Ken Holland and I'll send you the money for postage.

Hey, Big Rig had to repay my loyalty sooner or later...

I've heard the press box has great entrees to enjoy during the game.

Two words: Jason. Williams.

It's true octo-love I tells ya! Speaking of octo.... throw this government leaching monster on the ice: Speaking of great ideas: Tie a note on the octopus that says "Hey Al! Thanks for all your work. Please sign onto www.letsgowings.com and let us know if you got this note. Thanks!"
-
I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble if you're throwing an octopus in the Joe. The staff are Wings fans too! If I were you I'd save the octopus for the first Wings goal, though. Bring 10 or 12, actually, and throw them out whenever we win a faceoff.

Miller, Brodeur, Bryzgalov named nominees for Vezina trophy
Drake_Marcus replied to a topic in General
Brodeur's there based on reputation. The only place where he had Vezina stats was the W column. -
Ericsson still hasn't been on the ice for a 5-on-5 goal against. Find another d-man to blame.
-
Ericsson's only been on the ice for a single goal-against and that was on the PK. I hardly see how Lebda is a better option.

You're unappreciated in your own time Mindfly. Later generations will come to love you.

This. It was the December trade-freeze deadline if I remember correctly.

I guess he doesn't want to mess up the chemistry Z's line has right now. I'd like to see him try: Franzen-Datsyuk-Helm (or Miller) late in the game just to add a faster element to that line.

Good memory!

I really don't care about the system of hockey we have to use to beat a team. Yeah it's fun to watch Red Wings hockey but would I take another Wings Cup won playing the trap? Hell yeah I would. A Cup is a Cup.

Check out Holmstrom's goal total and games played this season. He's still got another season left in him. Oh and Lidstrom had 49pts at just a month shy of 40 years old. He's got a lot of gas left in the tank too. If he retires I'll be very disappointed. Edit: weird double post action...

Exactly. Anyone remember how Ozzie's playoff career started out? And he's a guy who will be remembered for clutch playoff goaltending at the end of his career.

An offensively-minded turn-over machine for an offensively-minded turn-over machine? Sounds good on the surface...

Pittsburgh taught us last year that it ain't over until the fat lady* sings. Right now I'm looking at Babcock and thinking-- can you make these guys play up to their potential? Lidstrom needs to bounce back and have a strong game. Today's effort from #5 was unacceptable. Same goes for Howard. I'd also like to see Datsyuk's line be a more constant threat out there. Datsyuk looks dangerous but Franzen isn't himself. Hopefully his goal today can reverse his fortunes. *Crosby's mom.

That's fair enough but you're just guessing. In the end all we know for sure is that the Wings scored 2 goals in those games.

While I agree that it's BS that the KHL has better conditioned athletes, I want to point out that Grigs was a complementary player in the KHL at that point while Jagr was a superstar.

There's only one way the Wings will win this series: outwork the Coyotes on every shift. Grind their defense down. Win the small puck battles. Game 1: The Coyotes outworked the Wings--> Coyotes win 3-2 Game 2: The Wings outworked the Coyotes--> Wings win 7-4 Game 3: The Coyotes outworked the Wings--> Coyotes win 4-2 Anyone seeing a pattern? If the Wings outwork the Coyotes the superior talent on our roster shines through and we dominate them. Howard's looked like a rookie out there-- fine. He has at least 2 more games to find his playoff gear. But the Wings aren't doing him any favours in the losses either. The only way we could've won games 1 or 3 was if Howard only let in one goal in either game. Think about that... An excellent GAA in the playoffs is 2.00, so asking Howard to only let 1 goal a game in is a bit tough to call fair. The Wings should be able to score 3 or more goals a game on Bryzgalov if they just play their game. I know the Coyotes have an elite defensive team but game 2 showed that the Wings can score on them.

On top of that this was Jimmy's first playoff home game-- we'll have to see how he bounces back. He's been able to bounce back really well so far in the regular season so I can only assume he will in game 4. The point is that Howard is our goaltending future-- hiding him on the bench won't solve anything long-term.

The Dynamo's GM left and Hudler was his big signing last year so it makes sense that Hudler would be on the out with him after they s*** the bed in the playoffs and Hudler expressed interest in going back to Detroit.
