DANY HEATLEY complaining again after GOLD MEDAL WIN over USA
Drake_Marcus replied to a topic in General
Classy. -
I'll side with the best GM in hockey.
-
I'm sure Holland is thinking the same thing.
-
Roster limit and salary cap. Just sayin'.
-
Don't worry, people will find a reason to s*** on Ericsson anyway.
-
That's the key. Newbury wasn't getting any younger or better.

The whole set was just itching for some real trades to happen. -
Thanks for the update. The more we can hear about this new kid the better.

I'm pretty sure I saw half of the trade centre guys nodding off there at one time or another. -
Ericsson's need for more NHL games and growth room means Lebda is no longer expendable.

lol double lol

It's the nicest unicorn I've ever seen.

My thoughts exactly! Except this kid is supposed to have decent hands. So you're trading a bit of speed and forechecking skill for hands.

Sweeeet

Any hints on who we can expect as the player in the background? How about Datsyuuuuuuukkkkkk! Or a Stevie Y retro background? Or what about a Gordie Howe retro?

That's a good move in my eyes. Newbury is a 28 year old garbage pick-up Holland made solely for depth purposes. The Leafs were happy to let him go. He's been disappointing in GR and if he honestly wants to be an NHL player he better prove himself more useful than he has. I wish him all the best in NY but he was never a Wings prospect. Owens is a 23 year old kid who's purely a prospect. He hasn't impressed but he still could. He has good size and the advantage of youth. Hopefully he pans out but if he doesn't it's no loss to the Wings-- they gave up a 28 year old minor league kid who they signed as a UFA the previous season for him. This is a smart move by Holland. He's just giving the Wings more youth and potentially a shot at an NHL forward in a few years. And he did it for free. Obviously this isn't a dazzling move but Newbury was going to leave this summer anyway so this young kid gets added for free. How could Holland say no?

I stand corrected. But Canada is still awesome.

And all they got was the Olympic record for most gold medals won. But hey, I'm just impressed that you think the US didn't spend at least the same amount of money to train, equip and send their athletes. Did you think your athletes paid their own way?
-
Have you ever played? I felt the same way until I want with some guys and girls after work/school one day. Now we have a bit of a team thing going with the other grad students that work with me at the biomed building. It's a fun way to spend an evening.

He'll definitely be more confident. That should make a big difference.

GDT 2010 Olympic Gold Medal Game: Canada 3 vs. USA 2 (OT)
Drake_Marcus replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Hall of Fame
Sounds like Rafalski as usual (except for the scoring part this year). Rafi better come back to Detroit and keep playing the offensive game he displayed during the Olympics. -
He only played with my brother for a summer. Before and after that he was playing against Jared. And they were still friends, so he must not have been too cocky around Jared. I was kind of shocked, though, since my brother is a goalie. You'd think goalies would hate him.
-
I couldn't help by laugh after her scored the game winner. I knew it'd be a s*** show. That being said-- he's my personal hero for the day. I don't care who you are, if you win us a gold medal in OT I'm happy with you.

He was pretty likable as a kid. I remember him being a kind of quiet kid who was nice enough. He definitely was a jerk or anything like that.
