lol Some of LGW hate him. You don't need to defend him like a dotting mother.

He didn't need to. Just because I dislike him doesn't mean I don't respect him.

Three of Four Officials for USA/Canada Game From Canada
Drake_Marcus replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Hey cool. I didn't know Oliver Stone posted on LGW. -
Bahahaha. Yeah. You whine about Ericsson being bad defensively. JJ is no better after playing 200 NHL games. Edit: And you pick JJ over Doughty as one of your two d-men to build around?
-
That's potentially true for a bunch of Wings.
-
That fugly chick's won 6 Olympic medals for Canada. How many have those pretty US curlers won? Thought so. This isn't a beauty contest. If I want to fap I'm not going to turn on the olympics for inspiration. Edit: spelling.
-
I'm loyal to Holland, Nill, Babcock and Yzerman. If you want to cheer for the team with the most Red Wings on it the only option left is Canada. I could care less about Perry or Pronger until Monday.
-
He's a season removed from being a point per game player. He's worth taking a shot at in the offseason for around 1 million. He's definitely not worth getting now with his current contract.

I'm not sure I'd make that trade. Johnson's struggled quite a bit at the NHL level. He's yet to show why they drafted him so high. Yes Filppula is older and has a lower theoretical potential to be an impact player, but he's a much better forward than Jack is a defenseman right now and Johnson's shown very little improvement over his NHL seasons. That'd be a huge gamble for the Wings. If Filppula wasn't showing signs of improvement the trade would make more sense but we still haven't seen what Val's upper limit is. Put it this way: Filppula's a top 6 forward right now who plays great defensively, is strong in the circle and has all the tools to be an impact player except finishing ability. If Filppula never gets better he's still a good NHL player. If he can improve his finishing skill or at least learn to take tons of shots he can be a 60pt or if we're lucky a 70pt player. Johnson is a bottom pairing d-man who plays piss poorly defensively, doesn't see the game well, appears to be difficult to coach, but he has great offensive ability/potential and all the physical tools to be good. Right now he could still be a huge bust. If he pulls his s*** together he'll be a top pairing d-man. If not he'll flounder and be a #5 or 6 d-man. I'm inclined to make the safe choice unless I had scouts telling me otherwise.

Canada vs USA - Women's Gold medal game - 6:30 EST

Reading fail. -
Hmmm... that's pretty dangerous. That'll either be a steal or an overpayment that they won't be able to unload. His body of work is too small to say for sure. Hopefully he keeps up the good work.

I appreciate Shea Weber having a whale of a game. He was hitting everything that moved and managed to score a timely goal. And Nash's goal was a great shot! Morrow had a great game as well. He was full of energy out there. I wish Ovi would've had some points but at least Feds had a helper last night
-
I too want Ovi to dominate and Crosby to fail as hard as he did on a personal level in the finals. But I want Canada to win the game... I'm still a proud Canadian
-
A 40 year old Fedorov has 3pts in 3 games. That's hardly dead weight.
-
I agree. Thanks for the props

Zetterberg the best swede in nhl, accoring to Team Sweden players

You've gotta love his sense of humour. Still, I'd take Lidstrom or Z in the playoffs over anyone else on that list. -
That looked like it deflected off Crosby's stick for sure.

Last night's game felt like a kick to the groin for me. Seeing Rafalski put up 2 goals and a helper definitely helped soften the blow.
-
Also this isn't even close to being the best team Canada's put on the ice in the olympics. 98 and 02 were both superior teams.
-
1. Pronger's had a terrible tournament. He's playing like a 6th d-man out there. 2. The top line has been suspect defensively. They were out there for the first three goals. I don't remember if they were out for the fourth or fifth. 3. Brodeur had a bad game. 4. Miller was brilliant-- he was definitely the best player on the ice last night. 5. Rafaslki's goals were incredibly deflating for the Canadians and it showed.

I can't believe people still bite when you throw these tasty tidbits out.

Tim Bit's hockey is so hilarious to watch. You literally see 10 kids chase a puck in a tiny cluster of shaky skating. The only players who seem to have a defined position are the goalies. It's pretty damn cute.
