This situation with Kronwall is very distressing. I hope it's just the Wings being extra cautious (which makes sense since he's already re-aggravated it once).
-
If there's a short term goalie injury and the other guy can't back-up Holland will just call Larsson up. The Wings aren't in the position to pay for a short-term piece to save a season that's already pretty much a loss.

Does Holland have the courage to tank this team?

The banner with #5 on it has probably already been ordered. He'll retire a Wing whenever he wants. We owe him that much. -
You must not be a goalie.
-
That's an overpayment for a goalie who makes Gaborik look like an iron man. Vishnevskiy straight up would be a tough sell for me if I'm in Dallas.

You could be right... I'm not really that well versed in the college to pro transition.

2/11 - Against San Jose - Biggest Game of the Year to Date

In the last 15 games the Wings are 4-6-5. Let that sink in. Like you said... they've been doing a lot of losing. -
I disagree. He needs to be thrown into the AHL as soon as possible. They need to get him playing against men.
-
As soon as he got that assist he looked like a different player-- more confident, more aggressive and stronger on the puck. It's weird how a point instantly changes a player's confidence

There's definitely a reason why Babcock put Ericsson out there with less than a minute left in the game.
-
I certainly think the injury made him hungrier. That hunger definitely shows. Earlier in his career his was much more hot/cold. I love how consistent he's been since December.
-
Stuart was the only guy on the team even less effective than Meech or Lebda on the PP. Ericsson's shot is what we need. Just give the man a chance to use his 100mph slapper. It's not like there's anything left to lose. We're relying on other teams to lose their playoff spot at this point.

All I've heard is how high Smith's offensive potential is-- on writer said it was higher than any d-man drafted by the Wings in the last 20 years. His skating is also extremely good as is his "size". I use quotation marks there because I'm referring to his height-- he still needs to add muscle to be a pro. I'm reserving my judgment for when we see him play pro hockey. Hopefully he gets to play the tail end of the AHL season when his college season is over.

Kronwall, Eaves OUT, Holmstrom questionable, Franzen, Miller IN

1. Because it's a re-injury they're going to be insanely careful with it. 2. He's waiting for a new knee brace to arrive. -
Makes sense. Gainey's been terrible.

FRANZEN! Kronwall better get back soon... we really miss his offense. -
Lemieux's PPG was actually higher than Gretzky's until he came back from retirement.
-
Also note that Ovechkin's rookie year was delayed because of the lockout. So he'd have another season worth of production by now.

Thanks man -
Does that give anyone else a warm fuzzy feeling inside?

Well I hope I win the award for best total for a member with Drake in their name. I'm sure you'll win the same award for guys with Dan in their name.
-
I'm not saying I'd cry if Crosby were traded to Detroit-- it'd be fantastic. I'd just me more excited about Ovechkin coming
-
Also, and correct me if I'm wrong here, was Mr. Howe not a winger? He was a fairly important member of the old school Cup teams in Motown, no? One could fairly say Gordie Howe lead his team in the playoffs.
-
This year? Ovi's lead his team on a 14 game winning streak. I have a hard time imagining they'll flame out in the playoffs. Last year Ovi was the single most productive player in the playoffs with 1.5 points per game. He took a superior Pens team to game 7. Now he's on the superior team...
-
lol So you've been reduced to position again. I guess Ryan Millar's the best player in the game. He is the top goalie right now, and he plays the most important position... Edit: I like you Carman-- sparing about this is fun. I hope you don't take it personal.
