He has? Based on what? Hossa has had 2 good playoff years in his career and one of them was when he played wing on Crosby's line. Hell even Bill Guerin had a good playoff playing with Crosby.
-
That is unbelievably stupid. How many years has that been? ONE. How many more do you think he will get playing alongside Thomas Kopecky on the first line?
-
What are you talking about? That was his only goal this year. In fact Hossa and Sharp together have scored 16 of the Hawks 31 goals. That's 2 guys with over 50% of their production and as this thread points out, Hossa is going to be out for a few weeks. If there new role players continue producing at this rate they are toast.

Two words Eddie Belfour Now that's a classy Dallas Stars player...
-
I realize that it is early but the Hawks are 5-4-1
-
I agree
-
Wait a minute. This guy plays on the team that is year after year the most penalized team in the league. And he's complaining about the officials calling too many penalties on his team? Are you kidding me?
-
7 games in and it starts....
-
A big strong Canadian that can fight.
-
Ok. So you are consistantly pessimistic. What is the point of that? I'll bet that you are great fun at parties. Draper won the Selke trophy for best defensive forward in the entire league in 2004.
-
Only game two and here come the naysayers... Seriously? Thomas Kopecky is on their first line. hahhahhaha
-
I just watched the highlights and IMO, that was at least 2 bad goals by Turco including the game loser. hahahhaha It's gonna be a long year for Hawks fans.....

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell will miss at least the first month of the season after suffering a knee injury. The Chicago Tribune on Saturday quoted 'Hawks head coach Joel Quenneville as saying Campbell will be out of action about four or five weeks with a sprained right knee. Campbell was forced to leave Friday's exhibition victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins after taking a hit along the boards. It is another stroke of bad luck for the bruising backliner, who was forced to sit out the remainder of the regular season with a broken collarbone and fractured ribs after taking an illegal hit from Capitals superstar forward Alex Ovechkin last March. He was not fully healthy until late in the opening round of the playoffs. Last season, the 31-year-old recorded seven goals and 38 points in 68 games, adding a goal and five points in 19 playoff tilts for the defending Stanley Cup champions.
-
I disagree. Cambell is a good d-man but not a great d-man. The Hawks will replace him with yet another prospect.
-
When we lost all those guys, we had to bring in our top prospects from the AHL. Chicago's top prospects are already in the regular lineup....

Aneheim was good for a couple of years before and after their one Cup. If you remember just 1 year before each of these two teams won their Cup, they both got their asses kicked in the playoffs by guess who? Yup, the Wings. I have more respect for what Aneheim did (though I hate them) because they were contenders for awhile, Pittsburgh and Chicago are really one year wonders and Pittsburgh had the advantage of playing in the East.

The U of M Wolverines who have given up on average 400 yards of offense against the awesome teams from Notre Dame Bowling Green Connecticut Massachusetts Haahahahah Oh, wait, wrong forum
-
Campbell, Huet, Hossa Losing money in the year when you sold out all of your games and won the Stanley Cup Having to trade/not resign 8 of your regulars from the cup winning team - the first Cup winning team in 49 years Calling you team "Hawkeytown" after your big brothers in Hockeytown Priceless
-
Niemi was solid in goal hahahaha almost 4 goals/game in the finals. SOLID is not what comes to mind. This is like Obama saying that the stimulus worked....
-
He's going to sign 10 enforcers? You must not have watched the Winter Olympics where he won the award for the best d-man in the tounament. You know the tornament composed of the best hockey players in the world. But you think that he has noticably slowed? yea, ok
-
After 4 years in the league, you are ready to proclaim him one of the best players in history? That's a bit much of the Crosby worshipping....
-
I'll second that. I actually hate Kane more than Crosby...Or at least almost as much.
-
That brings up an interesting question. What team is going to be Bettman's favorite now? First we had the Pens, then the Hawks. Who is next?
-
IMO that's way to harsh. The contract was worse in terms of circumvention than some others but it's clear that other teams did the same thing but weren't quite as blatant. And the other teams got no penalties and got to keep their contracts. I'm not a Devils fan but they got screwed.
-
The Pens lost Gonchar, the Sharks lost Blake and Nabaokov. The Hawks lost everybody except their CORE. The Ducks lost Neidemeir. Teams to beat Wings Canucks Caps Flyers Caps and Flyers don't have the goaltending. The 2 year reign of crappy goaltenders winning the Cup will end this year. Howard or Luongo are my picks.
