Guys, this should be simple. Win enough and the Wings are in. Forget the other teams. They are not all going to win all the games. And the only way to finish 3rd is to win the division and that is not going to happen.

Huh? All the Wings have to do is win regardless of what everyone else does. It's not like all the sudden it will take 100 points to make the playoffs. Historically 90-93 points is enough. If the Wings get say 95 points, they are in. Guaranteed. Forget the other team, just win most of your games....

Save % regular season 2008-2009 .887 2005-2006 .897 2002-2003 .894 1993-1994 .895 Ozzie is at .897 this year His best year was 1994-1995 when he was .917 He's a lifetime .906 regular season and .916 playoffs which is good but not great. I'm not an Ozzie hater but I hate it when people on here get the facts wrong.

I agree with Babs decision to play Howard. They are going up against the top scoring team in the league. If he wanted to get Ozzie in, he would have played him against Dallas. My guess is that Howard said he was good to go and showed it in practice. Other than the first goal, I thought Howard played well. It's not like he let in a bunch of softies.

Well said. They have to cram in as many commercials as they can. I hate watching those dopes. They are always one-sided. It's like they pick who they are going to praise the entire game and ignore what's happening on the ice. Don't get me wrong, sometimes they talk up the Wings all game. Not once did they mention who all the injured were on the Wings. And no praise to Jimmy Howard who is being talked about as a calder candidate. No mention of the big contracts that the Hawks signed. Instead they talk about who wore the best tie. But I guess I'm spoiled with Ken and Mickey who actually talk about the game...

2 goals on 20 shots translates into a .900 save percentage. 3 goals on 20 shots translates into a .850 save percentage. This year he has a .897 save percentage and last year he was at .887 so it's an exaggeration to say that he gives up 3 goals on 20 shots. 2 is actually pretty accurate for the last 2 regular season. BUT the last 2 years in the playoffs he had .926 and .930 and that is what really matters.

What the hell are you talking about? The guy has the 2nd best save percentage in the league among goalies that played more than 20 games and you are bitching about his rebound control? I'm ok if he plays exactly the same way he has been without changing anything. How can you take every good thing that happens and have a negative opinion about it.

40 games in in his rookie year and you can tell that? For Christ's sake give the rookie a chance. He has alot of skill...

I have no problem with that EXCEPT that is was written that the suspension was to be MANDANTORY. You can't have something wiaved that is MANDANTORY. If the intent is for it to be a judgement call it should say that. And as far your suggestion that the rule does not apply to "star" players - that's just stupid. Can't a star player act like a goon too? Malkin did exactly what the rule was intended to stop. He went after our guys to send a message. It really is simple. MANDANTORY. That simple.

Yea, except for 1 little problem Huet has a .908 save percentage which is 25th in the league. It's great for Chicago to be winning in spite of the poor goaltending but the playoffs are a different story.
