    will wings retire fedorov's 91?

I give up....Apparently, logic has no place in this thread..

    will wings retire fedorov's 91?

I agree that it would be good to have him around as a mentor to some young Russian players but we have no young Russian players. As far as the other young guys, we already have enough older players to help them out - Lids, Malts, Drapes. I don't think we need more.

Jesus Christ, not this crap again. Feds is washed up and we have no room for him. Who would you sit so the "has been" can play?

Lidstrom, absolutely Osgood, maybe Cheli, no Shanny, no Feds, no Draper, no Pavs and Z, to soon to tell

    Sharks, Ducks series

Hahahaha. Stupid biases Canadian media. The Cannucks beat that awesome St. Louis in (3) 1-goal games. The Blues didn't belong in the playoffs but the Cannucks didn't exactly crush them. They don't stand a chance against the Wings.

    Sharks, Ducks series

I'm with you. The Ducks weren't even in game 5 except for Hiller. They looked poor. I'm not afraid of them at all. Crash the net which the Sharks haven't done at all this series and my guess is Hiller buckles. Also, the Ducks only have 1 decent line.

    4/25 Playoff GDT

I never thought I'd say this but... I hope the Sharks win. But only 1 more game in 4 OT's

Would you want Crosby on the Wings?

That wasn't the question. It was would you take Sid over Hossa. And that is an entirely different question. Would I want Sid on my team? Hell yes Would I take Sid over Hossa? ah...no

Would you want Crosby on the Wings?

The hockey experts that voted for the Conn Smyth trophy and the Selke trophies last year do not agree with you. Z won the Conn Smyth and was a finalist for the Selke. Crosby got neither. You are the one that isn't using your head. Crosby is a better goal scorer but there is a hell of a lot more to the game that goals and assists. someday Sid may be better than Z, but he isn't right now.

    New arena?

The Wings have a sweetheart deal on the Joe for as long as they want. The city of Detroit has to provide all of the security for events. This is unheard of for any sports venue in the U.S. and I read that it is worth big money. Here's the catch though, if the Wings leave for a new arena, they will not get such a deal again. Mike Illitch is a very shrewd business man so I don't see him leaving the Joe.

Would you want Crosby on the Wings?

Hossa is better defensively that Sid. Sid is better offensively. We currently have the best offense in the league hands down. Defense wins cups, so, no. I'd rather have Hossa.

    The Ducks

The Sharks are not going to come back and win the series. Not only are they down 2-0, both of the losses were at home. I expect them to win a game or 2 but for them to come back and win the series, they have to win 4 of the next 5 and that is with 3 of them on the road. Anybody know what the Shark's road record this season was? 21-13-7. That's right they are a .500 team on the road. Stick a fork in them, they're done, just like in 2008, 2007, 2006 but this time it was only 1 round, not 2. I've been saying it all year, a rookie head coach isn't going to take a perennial underachieving team to the Stanley Cup...

WCQF GAME 2 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 0

What the hell are you talking about? The Wall is widely regarded as a Masterpiece and second only to The Dark Side of the Moon among Pink Floyd's albums. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine listed The Wall as #87 in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Dark Side of The Moon is #43.

WCQF GAME 2 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 0

Actually, Vancouver isn't playing that great. They won the first game 2-1 and the second 3-0 against a weak St. Louis team on home ice. he 2-1 game was about as even a game as possible.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

WTF. Ok, everybody has a right to their opinion so if you had said BJ's in 7 or even 6, I would have just put it off as pesimism but BJ's in 5? That's just stupid. You say that the Wings are going to lose 4 out of 5 to Columbus. Come on?

LOL. Perfect. You are now an official LGW memeber...

4/12 GDT: Red Wings 0 at Blackhawks 3

hahahaha...A typical LGW poster...only remebers the losses. How bout the December 30th 4-0 shutout of the Blackhawks when they were telling the world that they felt like the Boston Celtics How bout the Winter Classic on national tv when the Wings scored 5 straight goals Or the 6-0 demolition of the world's best San Jose Sharks Or the follow-up 4-1 drubbing of the Stanley Cup favored Sharks Or the shutout of the Great Cindy Crosby lead team on national tv on their home ice I feel sorry for you, you missed the best parts....

4/12 GDT: Red Wings 0 at Blackhawks 3

Every important meaningful game this year, the Wings have played great. Osgood has played great in most of his last few games and the Defense has definitely stepped it up the last week or two. It just amazes me that people watched the last few meaningless games and drew any conclusions from them. The last two games meant everything to Chicago. They had to prove that they could beat the Wings after losing the first 4 of the season series. Great for them, they proved that they can hang with the Wings when the games don't mean anything. I have complete confidence and faith in the Wings. They have shown that when the games are important, nobody can beat them. I expect a long playoff run. I really don't care how they did in the unimportant games. And if I'm wrong, all the pessimists can walk around and say "I told you so". But I guarntee that I will enjoy the playoffs more that them....

Johan Franzen signs extension, 11 years

But I don't remeber ever hearing about a player being asked to waive a NTC when he is on a winning team. It's completely different when a player is on a losing team that wants to move him so that they can rebuild. In those cases, I agree the player may not want to stay anyway. Give me a example of a player that was asked to waive his NTC when he was on one of the top teams in the league. I can't think of any...

Johan Franzen signs extension, 11 years

And you know that how? Nobody knows what the cap is going to do. Anybody that says that it is going to drop that dramatically is just guessing.

Johan Franzen signs extension, 11 years

Stuart has a NTC so he isn't going anywhere and Ralfi is our #2 D-man so he isn't going anywhere. Here are the people that ARE expendable Flip Lils Lebda Mac Cheli Sammy Downey Meech Conks Huds Kopy That said, I don't want to blow up the team just so we can sign Hossa. Hossa is great but he's 1 guy and to keep him, we'd have to lose to many guys.
  23. chrisdetroit

Johan Franzen signs extension, 11 years

NOT. Stuart signed here because he wanted to stay long term. He said he was tired of moving. No way he waves his no trade clause. And Cleary. The Wings LOVE Cleary. He's not going anywhere and even if they wanted to move him why on earth would anybody on the Wings wave their no trade clause. It's not gonna happen.

Give me a frickin' break. It was a horrible call. What the hell does our goaltenders' play in the regular season have to do with it?
