"We've been outscored 10-1 in this building now," left wing Ryane Clowe said. "It's very frustrating." That says it all...
-
No he wasn't. He was scheduled to go back regarless of the outcome.

Is it time to make some major moves for this year's playoff run?

I can't read anymore of your posts. It's just to painful. Will you please go take a remedial writing class and come back when you can write an intelligent sentance? -
The toughness in last years playoffs came from the same guys that we have now (except Drake). Kronwall and Staurt with the big hits and Lilja and Pavs. Mac didn't do much. i don't remeber them being all that tough in the regular season last year. I expect them to turn it up come playoff time.

Mindfly is that you?

The Wings always get up for the big games. Just ask Chicago. And remeber the last time San Jose was here? The big games that we lost were back to backs or at the end of long road trips. It's tough to get up for a Minnesota game in February which is the second night of a back to back when you have to travel in between. I expect the Wings will take this one.

He's so great that he got waived by a crappy Tamba Bay Team? huh?
-
WTF. Did you ever see that Datsyuk guy?
-
The Pens are done. They will not make the playoffs. After todays loss (no they are not going to comeback down 3 goals to the Caps) they have 64 points in 61 games. If they need at least 90 to make the playoffs (historically that's the min) then they would need to pick up 26 points in 21 games. That means they would have to go AT LEAST 13-8 (0.619) and they have only won 5 of the last 10. This is great.

Where did you come up with that gem. Howard has a 2.45 GAA which puts him 11th in the AHL. A 3.5 in the NHL would earn you second to last at #44 behind Toskala and just above Hedburg who has a 3.61. It would be a bit of a stretch to equate a #11 GAA in the AHL to second to last among all goalies in the NHL.
-
Unbelievable. People are ready to write off Howard based on 1 game in which the defense was poor. Wow. Just wow.
-
Not anymore. Our home pk is down to 18th and our road pk is 30th.
-
There are 30 teams. The Wings currently are 19th in GAA. Can you exaggerate a little more....
-
Neither would Dallas last year or Detroit the year before....
-
Yes, the last 4 years in a row when nobody including Detroit was supposed to beat the Sharks.

Aneheim is not going to make the playoffs and Chicago will finish 4th so both of those are out
-
Well then I have some good news for you. Calgary is going to finish 3rd in the west because they will win the northwest division. They currently have an 8 point lead and it's unlikely that they will blow an 8 point lead with only 24 games to go. They have played the same number of games as Edmonton so Calgary is out. They will play the #6 team in the first round. Aneheim is not likely to make the playoffs. At least 90 points are required to make the playoffs (historically). Aneheim has 61 points and have 22 games left. To get to 90 points, they need to get 29 points in 22 games. This would require a record of 15-7 over the last 22. Based on the way they are playing and the tough road trip that they have coming up, that's just not going to happen. Most likely we get Vacouver, Columbus, Dallas or Edmonton.
-
Disagree. He is playing as the #6 D man on the best team in the league. He's not making mistakes, turning the puck over, etc. I say he is NHL material but he is not comparable to any of our top 4.

Talk about interpreting the stats to make your point. Flip had a total of 3 SECONDS more ice time that Pav. Of course his 5 on 5 ice time was more because Pav plays on the PP and Flip doesn't. For Pav to have the same 5 on 5 ice time as Flip he would have had to play 22 minutes. 3 Seconds....
-
Everybody including myself thought the same thing about Dallas Drake last year.... until the playoffs started. How he plays in the regular season doesn't mean much. How he plays starting in mid-April is the key.
-
Not to burst your bubble but in order to make th playoffs, the preds need 90-92 points based on historical averages. Right now they have 57 pts in 57 games. (90- 57)/2 = 16.5 lets say 16. Thye have to win at least 16 out of the last 25 games. They have to go at least 16-9 for a winning percentage of 0.640 despite having a current winning percentage of 0.500 There are only 6 teams in the league with that high of a winning percentage (over the entire year). San Jose, Boston, Detroit, Washington, New Jersey and Chicago. Your odds don't look very good.

Look. If we want a very good goalie that doesn't have the playoff experience we don't need to trade anybody. We have him. His name is Conklin. IF we were going to trade for a goalie which we are not, it would have to either be a goalie with playoff experience or a superstar like Luongo. We already have COnklin and I don't tthink Luongo is available.
-
That's not gonna happen. We already have a very good goalie that is only lacking playoff experience in Conklin. We need a good goalie with proven playoff experience. How many of them are out there? Oh yea and he can't make more than 1.5 Ozzie is our man for better or worse - there are no other options.

2nd in the league behind Blake Wheeler who is +33. But Blake Wheeler only has 34 pts compard to Pavs 69 and only averages less than 14 minutes per game compared to Pavs 19+.
