    Latest on Zetterberg talks

No fricking way. Hossa is great but 3 players? Maybe Sammy and Huds, but not Mule. Mule is something that we don't have in any other players - big strong drive the net with great hands. Huds is similar to Flip but not as good on defense and Sammy has a hard shot but otherwise not that great. Z will get a 5 mil raise and Mule a 3 mil raise. The only way we keep Hossa is if the Cap goes up at least 8 mil AND Hoss is willing to play for the same money next year as he got this year. How bout this. Sign Z for a lower number say 6mil but only for 1 year. When Lids retires after next year, we will have another 7.45 mil to spend. It's a horrible idea for the Wings from a money perspective. The value of money ALWAYS goes up. Sometimes not as much though. Would you rather I give you $1 today or $1 next year. The correct answer is today because you could invest it and earn interest so it would be more a year from now. Plus with inflation, your $1 won't buy as much next year. You are right though in that it would be a good deal for Hank but I think the accountants at the Red Wings would commit hari kari. Unfortunately, this is a business.

    Strachan: Detroit may lose team

Talk about taking things out of context! That is not what he said. It was more like "there's a ronour that if GM went out of business that the Wings wouldn't last a year because Detroit would be a ghost town" Did you also work for the Obama campaign?

    Todd McClellan and the Sharks

They have beaten us 1 of the 4 games that we played them and that was on a back to back night in their rink. There's 3 more games left with them but all that means nothing because they fall apart in the playoffs every year (3 in a row and counting). A rookie coach isn't going to make a difference.

Sundin to meet with Ducks' GM Burke

They have a 0.633 winning percentage which makes them 9th in the league. I'm not sure why that's something to brag about. But they are #1 in PIM.

Sundin to meet with Ducks' GM Burke

Bert and Schneider fell for it hook line and sinker. I guess that didn't work out so well...

Sundin to meet with Ducks' GM Burke

Understatement of the year. The Leafs even with Sundin will struggle to make the playoffs. They had Sundin last year and in fact he had a great year and still no playoffs. Burke would take 3-4 years to make the team respectable and that's if somebody before him help him out. Then he gets to the year where he has 15 UFA's and bails out....

I hate the goons too but Selanne is off to a pretty good start.

NHL All Star Game Ballot Released

Martry "headcase" Turco is currently the worst starting goaltender in the league. He's on the ballot but not Mule. duh?

    Huh? No Mule?

    downey

That's just stupid. Hossa was on 2 different teams in 1 year and 1 different team this year. To add them together and say he was on 3 different teams in one caledar year is just stupid.

    12 Games in - You're Holland...

No way in hell should Cleary be on the 4th line over either Kopecky or Mac

    12 Games in - You're Holland...

Wait a minute, you'd bring up Downey before Leino or Helm? Downey is going to do what to improve our Defense? Yea, that makes sense
  16. chrisdetroit

    12 Games in - You're Holland...

Actually they have 18 points in 12 games which is 18 points out of a possible 24 for a "point percentage" of 0.750. At the rate of 0.750 if they were to continue they would finish with 123 points. I agree with you. Don't trade anybody.

    worried about ozzie?

They have not played enough games to make a comparison. The sample size is to small to be meaninful.

Capitals' Semin not Impressed by Crosby

That's why the hockey writers gave him all those NHL awards last year, you know the selke, the art ross, the... Oh wait he didn't get any of them ....wonder why. Maybe not enough hype. No, that's not it... Maybe he isn't the best in the world....

Capitals' Semin not Impressed by Crosby

    Just like Obama...

Capitals' Semin not Impressed by Crosby

Now that is just stupid. You are quoting 10 records and 9 of them are based on his birthday. Who cares what year he was born. He's undeniably a great offensive player but he is not Wayne Gretsky and he has a way to go to be as good defensivly as he is offesively. But please stop quoting "birthday" records they are meaninless. "youngest captain in NHL history" yea, that means alot.

    Stolen Identity

That's a hell of a big assumption. Though Todd McLellan may be a very good assistant coach he has never been a head coach in the NHL. To assume that he being a rookie coach is going to know enough to lead the perennial 2nd round losers to the Stanley Cup is well...a pretty big assumption. Secondly, the Sharks do not have the same level of talent or depth that the Wings have. Not even close. They beat us because they were well rested and at home and we were physically and mentally tired. Not an excuse - just a fact.

    Wings Penalties

You can compare the Wings only aganist the teams that they played but that is meaningless because you narrow the sample to 11 out of the 29 other teams. Statisics 101. The sample size in your comparison is too small to be significant. In fact none of the statistics mean anything since we have only played 11 of the 82 games or only 13.4%. Even if the 13% of our games were enough to make a comparison, the Wings still rank #25 in PIM.

    Shootouts in the NHL

260 PIM in 12 games = 21.67 PIM per game. #1 in the league. This is insane. Incidently Wings 127 PIM / 11 games = 11.55

    Lebda Must Go

Downey is our savior? What kind of crack are you smoking. Helm and Leino maybe but Downey. The guy can barely skate and never scores....
  25. chrisdetroit

    Lebda Must Go

A little bit of an exaggeration there. 1 or 2 wins WTF. You mean we won 5 or 6 games just by showing up. Give me a break. We are 7-2-2 we certainly are doing something right. #2 on the power play and #1 in GFA. The glass is half full, not completely empty....
