Kenny has some work left to do

Fischer was a tough guy? Really?

Kenny has some work left to do

I think that you will find that they said that he has the potential to be a top 4 D-man. There is a huge difference. Lots of players have had these kinds of compliments after less than 10 NHL games and have not panned out. Take a deep breath, calm down. He looked good in his 7 games but he has a long way to go before we see him playing regularly at the Joe.

Kenny has some work left to do

No, Ericsson is not the Wings #1 prospect except on the LGW board and that is because he's big and on LGW BIG and the ability to hit or fight is everything..... Nobody is going to tender an offer sheet to a guy that has a total of 5 games of NHL experience. Be realistic...

Kenny has some work left to do

Christ it will never end..... We win the Stanley Cup, lose 1 38 year old guy and the LGW board is back to "we need more toughness". Yea because when Drake and Mac wern't on the ice, we looked like a bunch of pansies. Move on already

Kenny has some work left to do

Yea, let's give away the guy that was the #4 forward in playoff scoring... The amount of hate for Sammy, Hudler and Lilja on this board is increadible. No matter what these guys do, there are people on LGW that biased against them..

    Forsberg facing months of rehab...again!

I'll argue that. Forsburg WAS greater than Z but Forsburg's best days were gone a long time ago.

    Forsberg facing months of rehab...again!

Don't count me in that group. I knew he was done 4 "if this doesn't work I might retire"'s ago.

    Nashville Drama Continues

Huh? Edmonton doesn't sell out all their games now (see previous posts) so how can you make such a statement?

    Nashville Drama Continues

But as a business, the important thing is the number of tickets you sell regardless of the size of your arena. The NHL IS a business and all the "feel good" stuff about seling out means nothing. It's all about the $$$. I'd rather have a 80% full 20,000 seta arena than a 100% full 15,000 seat areana.

    Todd Bertuzzi

The suspension should have been for a full season DURING WHICH THE LEAGUE WAS IN OPERATION. He didn't play hocckey in the NHL for a full year but nobody else did either. How is that a punishment. His suspension should have been moved to the next season. This was easliy the most ridiculous part of the entire incident.

    shanahan?

Not according to the dictionary American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source - Share This hired gun (hīrd) n. Slang One, especially a professional killer, who is hired to kill another person. One hired to fight for or protect another. One who is proficient at obtaining power for others. One with special knowledge or expertise, as in business, law, or government, who is hired to resolve particularly difficult or complex problems. There is no mention as to the length of time. So yea, Shanahan was a hired gun but you could also argue that lots of other people are.

    Steve Montador signs with Anaheim

Until the Ducks get somebody that can score goals, I have no fear of them. Finishing 28th in the league in scoring in the reguar season and 11th out of 16 in the playoffs is not going to scare anybody.

    Steve Montador signs with Anaheim

I don't think that they can move him. He makes 5.75mil, is 39 years old and is injury prone. Granted he had a great year last year but he's just not worth that kind of money. Teams that were interested in spending that kind of money on D-men already have their men. If they were going to buy him out, they would have done it at the same time that they bought out Bert. I think he stays with the Ducks.

    The most annoying NHL teams

Sorry. I was in a hurry when I typed it. After I posted it, I read it and was aghast that I typed it. I DO know the difference between one and won and your and you're. I even know the difference between resign and re-sign.

    The most annoying NHL teams

Pittsburgh has moved to the top of the list since the finals. They are acting like they are one of the elite teams in the league and should have one the cup. First off, the finals was not even close. We killed them. Final score 17-10. They one 1 game by 1 goal and a second game in triple overtime. The Wings dominated and if not for their rental player, it would have been a sweep. Your 10 minutes of fame are up, now go away already along with a big portion of you players. They couldn't come close to beating us with the team intact, now they are just another also ran...

    Capitals Re-Sign Fedorov

A couple of things that you didn't mention: Draper signed his contract in October of '07 since then his production has dropped off dramatically. In the last 3 years his point went down from 32 to 29 to 17. The year before that he won the Selke Trophy. So I agree the Draper of 2007-2008 isn't worth the $2mil +. Coming off a Selke trophy and 32 and 29 point seasons he would be worth it. But that's all hindsight. Both Franzen and Filppula are young improving players and their pay reflects not only what they did in the past but what they will most likely do in the future. It's highly unlikely that their production will go down. Feds is at the end of his career and it is likely that his production will go down. His worth is based on past performances and a hope that his production will stay the same or not drop dramatically. With any 38 year old player you take a gamble that he still has gas in the tank. You are trying to compare apples and oranges.

    You're the GM

You forgot one... Pittsburgh....get over it, everybody left because you have a terrible coach and except for Crosby and Malkin, you don't have a very good team

    Filppula Elects Salary Arbitration

Flip is a small part now but a big part of the future. Hudler is not nearly as good defenively. I'd take Flip over Rex in a heartbeat.

    Filppula Elects Salary Arbitration

You'd prefer Mac or Downey over Flip? You must be one of those guys that are stuck in the past. Fighting is pretty much gone from the game replaced by goal scoring.........
