    Peter Forsberg

Sakic, Smyth, Foote, Theodore. They are all still playing right? The talking heads all said that they were great. What happened? Lose 1 guy and the team goes from better than the Wings to getting blown out. Must be that they really weren't that good and/or they have zero depth.

    Peter Forsberg

If 1 guy makes the difference between winning and taking an pounding like what happened in game 2, the Avs have no chance. Take away our best forward - pick one, Hank? Pavel? Franzen? Guess what, minus that 1 guy and we still don't get blown out. The Avs are just not that good despite all those big names that the press loves - Sakic, Foote. What happened to them?

    Can/Should the Wings Sweep Colorado?

Huh? I don't know what you mean by a "complete series". You mean a sweep? Sweeps are rare especially after round 1.

    Can/Should the Wings Sweep Colorado?

Lucky? Every hockey game in the playoff is about who got "lucky". Most games are 1 goal decisions and each teams have their fair share of luck. There are wide open nets missed, pucks that rattle off of posts and cross-bars, etc. And usually on both sides - Just like game 1. The way to win is to have more chances than the oposition and that way the odds are in your favor. We need to out-chance the Avs and then will win by the law of averages - Usually. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way and the team that outchances the oposition actually loses. That's why they play a seven game series. This is why sweeps are not very common. The sweeper has to overwhelm their oposition with chances so that even when they don't get the bounces, they will still win. So were we "lucky" to win game 1. Yes. But were they "lucky" also, yes. The difference is we had many more scoring chances than them. The better team won game 1. The Avs could have won the game but it would have been a robbery because the Wings clearly outplayed them

    Datsyuk/Zetterberg Selke candidates

No way, read the article. Dats has better numbers than Hank or Madden in all catagories - take aways, goals, points, and +/- and it isn't even close. Dats led the entire leagaue in take-aways and +/-. If the numbers were even close maybe but they are so far apart that they should have skipped naming the 3 finalists and just give the thing to Dats.

2002 Lidstroms goes home with the Norris, the Conn Smyth and the Cup. Deja vu all over again

    The Drake

I thought that it was a waste of ice time when we got him and after watching him through the regular season, I felt like we needed to give his minutes to somebody else. I was wrong. He is playing like a beast. Hitting everything that moves, out hustling guys to the puck, and generally just throwing the opposition off of their game. Yes, he wants the Cup. It is very obvious and this might be his last chance. This is fantastic because it will inspire the other guys. To Dallas Drake, I apologize. It's great to watch you play. Keep it up.

    Quack, Quack.... bye-bye Ducks!

Glad to see the Ducks gone. I've been saying it all year. Lack of scoring doomed them. The finished with 2.17 GFA in the playoffs. This was 13th out of 16 teams. You can't win if you don't score even if you are "Built for the Playoffs" Oh, and if you are wondering, they finished 14th in GAA. Hehehehehehehe

    Secondary Scoring

Our secondary scoring is up in the first round. Hudler has 5 points, Franzen 4 and Drapes 3. We have 43 points of those: 12 are from the first line (Pavel, Hank and Homer) 27.9% 12 are from the Defense 27.9% and 19 are from the other forwards - a whopping 44.2% So those non-trades that we made at the end of February maybe where good. Huds is playing well and Flip really picked it up the last 2 games. Good thing that they are still here.

    Latest Brunnstrom news

Hockey is big in Toronto and Vancouver. This means that not only will he get lots of ice time, he will get lots of attention. If that's his priorities, we don't want him. We already had 1 Serge Fedorov....

Ah. Hudler is tied for the team lead with 5 points counting todays goal. Yea get rid of him.....right...............

    Tennessean Article

You must be starting to believe the BS that people keep repeating. Did you watch the playoffs last year? You think that Kronwall, Homer, Franzen, Lilja, Stuart, Cleary, Drake, Downey are soft physically? Calgary, Aneheim, and San Jose huh? Seems like we hung with them hit for hit last year. It really amazes me the number of people that spout off things like this that have no basis in fact. Next they are going to say that we don't have any secondary scoring...

Should Wings fans be rooting for the Aves?

We dominated game 5. The final score was the only thing that was close. As far as Arnott, he was a no show for games 1 and 2 becuase we shut him down.

Should Wings fans be rooting for the Aves?

That's becaus Avs fans have no class. You won't hear Avs Suck chants at the Joe. I will never forget one of the playoff games in Denver that was on National TV. A fan sitting directly behind the Wings bench had a sign that said "Red Wings Suck". Every time they showed Scotty, you could see the sign. Now that's real class... I don't just hate the Avs, I hate their classless fans.

Should Wings fans be rooting for the Aves?

Root for Sakic?!! It's time for you to take that WIngs Jersey back to where you got it and quit posting on LGW. A Wings fan that would root for Sakic. WTF!

Arnott Doubtful for Game 6; Legwand Questionable

Agreed. I was shocked that he missed game 5 as important as it was. Trotz says he was throwing up all day. So give him a bucket to put next to him on the bench. Remember Brent Gichrest (sp?) taking cortosone (sp?) shots before each playoff game so he could play. Or how 'bout Stevie playing the '02 playoffs on 1 leg. He had to use his stick as a crutch to get up every time he went down. They have been playing six months and this game is the entire season. How can he not play.

WQF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Predators 0

Not necessarily. If Calgary comes back from the 3-2 deficit and beats the Sharks in game 7, we will play Calgary. That would be SWEET! Go Flames!!!!

WQF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 2, Predators 1 (OT)

The preds were dominated last night but thanks to Ellis, they were able to hang around and tie the game in the final seconds. Less than 2 minutes into overtime the Wings slammed the door shut on them. I don't know how they can gain anything positive from that except that they have a goalie that played a great game. I gotta believe that they are thinking that they have no chance to survive an onslaught like that twice in a row. Eventually Ellis will let some in and then they are done. I don't see how they can be feeling good about their chances at this point. I think that they thought that they had a chance when it became apparent that Hasek was beatable but then we switched to Ozzie who has given up a total of 1 goal in 4+ periods. That certainly has to hurt their confidence. They probably will get Arnott back for game 6 and maybe Legwand and they will be home but I got to believe that they have this little voice in the back of their minds that keeps telling them that they are severly overmatched. I can't wait for game 6 to start.

Drew Sharp on Osgood's Regulation Goal Last Night

I was just now listening to him on 97.1 The Ticket and he literally said: 1. He expected the Wings to lose to the Duckies in round 2 but since the Duckies probably are going to go out, he expects the WIngs to lose to SJ in the conference finals. I guess he had to revise his prediction about how the Duckies were so great when they are on the verge of going out in the first round. 2. The Tigers will finish below .500. 3. The Pistons will be swept in the first round. I'm not making this up. He actually said all 3 of these things in the period of 2 minutes. Obviously the man is an idoit.

    Johan Franzen

Franzen has been playing great since March. You can't compare that to Drury who has been very good his entire career. Nothing against the Mule but consistancy is the word in the NHL and it's too early to make such a comparison. Franzen may be playing better than Drury is now. That's a different story...

    Johan Franzen

That's a ridiculous statement. Yea sure, Mac is shooting better than Pavel and Hank. Second Line. Whatever...

WQF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 2, Predators 1 (OT)

I just went over to ESPN and watched Melrose "the tool" analysis and he said that Nashville played a great game. WTF! The Preds got their asses handed to them on a plate. Ellis played a great game. Period. How can these idiots be so anti-Wings that they can come up with this crap? WOW. Just WOW!

    Roster Changes For Game 4

There are very few fights in the playoffs. That's the bottom line

    Roster Changes For Game 4

I like Ericsson but there is no way that he is ready to play in leiu of either Lebda or Lilia. Lilja is our number 1 shot blocker. I'd leave him in just for that part. Lebda certainly isn't going to block shots.

    The Ducks are done!

The Ducks are now down 2-0 to Dallas after losing the first two on home ice. They are not losing on unlucky bounces but are getting whipped. 4-0 and 5-2. The bugaboo is lack of scoring as it has been all year. 1.5 GFA in the first 2 games. Can they come back. Yes, but it is not likely. They would have to win 4 of the next 5 with 3 of those in Dallas. And they are not playing well so this would have to be a complete reversal. For all of the people that have been saying "the Ducks are built for the playoffs" and ignoring the gaping hole that is their lack of scoring, I just have to say. I told you so. Man that felt good. Sorry.....hehehehehe
