    Holland making Schneider a priority

If we were to sign both Schneider and Markov, we would have 1 to many defensemen. Lidstrom Chelios Lebda Schneider Markov Lilja Kronwall That means if everybody is healthy somebody has to sit. Lilja would be the odd man out. But Lilja had a great playoff and has really stepped it up. Now the other problem $$$. Markov will not be cheap. Lilja is cheap and if he continues to develop he can be gritty. As much as I like Markov, I 'd rather see him go an save the money for somebody else. We NEED Schneider on the powerplay until Kronwall gets going. I think that the string of bad luck has run out with Nick Jr. and this is the year. Smyth is not going to come to Detroit. He's going back to Edmonton.

    AJ Thelen Goes Unsigned

Really? Why? Because he's big. That makes no sense. We don't need guys that have personal problems just because they are big. We need big guys that are fast, gritty, can skate and have great hands. Those are the guys that we should go after.

    Stanley Cup Finals Start Today

No ill will?! Ha! I hope they get their asses kicked. Not all of them but many of them are dirty, classless players who lucked into the finals. They got to play Minnesota, then a weak Vancover team just up the coast. When they ran into us, we split games 1 and 2 then blew them out 5-0 in Aneheim. 5-0. I never heard of a blow-out like that in the conference finals. They come back to steal game 3 in the final minuts, get a bizzarre deflection off of Lidstrom's stick to win game 5 after getting totally outplayed for the 3rd game in a row and hold on by the skin of their teeth to win game six after nearly blowing a 3-0 lead in the 3rd period. Pronger tries to injur Homer and gets a suspension then whines about the media and officials being unfair. And Selane goes on record after game six that the officiating is bad. I want to see them go down.

    No faith in Jimmy Howard?

"dairy air?" I never laughed so hard in my life. It's "derriere".

    Shanahan

Exactly. Let's assume that we don't sign Lang or Calder and we do resign Bert. That means 1 forward spot opens up. Either Rex or Kopecky have to fight for it. Babs isn't going to sit Sammy. So that means that your going to sit either a big young forward with great potential in Kopecky or a small fast forward with great hands in Rex for a guy that's 38 years old slow, and is at the end of his career. Why would you do that when our biggest problems in the past have been that we were to old, to slow and not gritty enoough.

    Now that dats has signed.

Lang haters beware. The playoffs are comming and that is where he excells. Give me a useless regular season player that brings it to the playoffs and I will take him anytime. Last year he had 6 pounts in 6 games - same as Z. The year before 9 points in 12. Now what were you saying? Lang has got to go?

    When Lang leaves this summer...

OK all you Lang haters. Do you not watch the playoffs. In 2006 he had 6 points in 6 games (same as Z) and in 2004 he had 9 points in 12 games. And those were horrible years for the wings in the playoffs. So you say he's not very good. 16 points in 18 games sounds pretty good to me. It's all about the playoffs.

    Playoff matchups?

I'm with you. This guy is nuts. Hasek is playing like one of the top goaltenders in the league, he said this is the best defense we ever had. What's missing? Goal scoring is down, but not that much. It doesn't add up. What's not to like?

    In line to netmind?

He is no better than Osgood? Are you serious? Please explain to us how you came up with that. As far as Theodore, there is a reason that Colorado will buy him out. He is not good. He had one good year and that's it. So why on earth would we want him?
  10. chrisdetroit

Who do you think needs to go?

Everybody seems to forget that Lang excells in the Playoffs. He's big and strong and can protect the puck. Sure he's not fast and is lazy at times but he brings it come playoff time. It he has another great playoff, we should keep him. Who cares what he does during the regular season. Didn't you guys watch the Edmonton-Detroit series last year? Lang and Z were ther only ones that showed up.

Will Schneider be Back Next Season?

Lindstrom past his peak? Are you serious? Why then is there talk about his 5th Norris?

Mark Spizzirri's take on the Wings

    Finaly somebody is talking sense.

We shouldn't trade CLEARY or WILLIAMS

There are alot of people of LGW that have short memories. Come playoff time, all you Lang haters disappear every year. Lang is not fast but he is big and strong and can fight for the puck in front of the net and that is exactly what we need come playoff time. The last 2 or 3 years he has been one of our best forwards in the playoffs. Why in the hell would we want to get rid of him? Ok so he doesn't bust his ass in the regular season. I'm ok with that as long as he shows up in the playoffs.

To trade, or not to trade...

How the f*** can you say we are softer this year than last?

To trade, or not to trade...

Christ this is getting old. We have the 3rd best record in the league and it has been what 5 years since we won the cup. Yea, Holland has no idea what he is doing.

    Has Anyone Noticed....

Nashville is average at best on defense. They are near the worst in the league in shots against. If it wasn't for goal tending, they would be in deep trouble. San Jose has a great power play but 5 on 5 are terrible. Anaheim's doesn't have any glaring weaknesses as long as Proger plays. When he doesn't, they are just not the same team.

    Nashville loses to Los Angeles?

Best team in the league?! Last year the wings ran away with the Presidents Trophy and everybody attributed it to us playing 8 games each of St. Louis, Columbus and Chicago. Now we have people saying that Nashiville is the best team in the league. And guess who they are beating up on - St. Louis, Columbus and Chicago...
