Abby isn't quite as rockem sockem as he was a few years ago for us. We need him to get his mean streak back.

Joe Buck, in all of his career, has 1 call that he even sounds like he's awake to make. It was nice to see that he is a hockey fan and owns season tix, even if it is for the Blues.Given the choice, if I didn't listen to Ken and Mick, I'd like to have either Sam Rosen or Pat Foley. Both are knowledgeable about the sport and it's history and quirks. Unfortunately Foley gets stuck with Edzo, but at least Foley is like listening to Harry Caray.
-
Also, for those of you who have some seniority in Detroit, under whose city administration was the Joe built? Yeap. That one. Just because something works ok enough for a long time doesn't mean you shouldn't upgrade. Just because your car could run for 30 years doesn't mean you have to have it for 30 years.

someone from the team has to be reading this forum! All of our whipping boys have been scoring tonight, except Quincey.

Desjardin match penalty on clean hit against Mayers
Hiei replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
We have a war room that is staffed in Toronto for goals in dispute, why can't they dispute for hit to the head? -
Loktionov is effectively stalled behind everyone else in LA though. Remember when they were high on Frolov too?

Eaves-Abby-Cleary. Put cleary in Homer's spot, seeing as he has no speed and seemingly no puck handling abilities Miller-Emmerton-TooToo. Miller's been running over opponents this year, and TooToo has been giving this team a desperately needed spark. Combined, they might get Emmerton back up and moving again. one can only hope. Once Helm and Sammy get back, make it Eaves-Helm-Sammy and Miller-Abby-TooToo. If Abdelkader gets his mad streak back, that 4th line could make it woeful for opposing teams. WE NEED SOME WRECKERS.

Let's step back and look at cities with a realistic shot in the next 4 years of having a team: Seattle: Arena deal completed, construction soon to be underway, AND they're getting the sonics back (Sacramento gets to eat it in this deal). Unknown of the ambition toward having an NHL franchise in Seattle, but we'll see that soon enough, now won't we? Quebec City: Construction is underway on the currently titled New Quebec City Amphitheatre. Quebecor has openly stated they want a team. Cities with a shot in the next 5-7 years if planning works out Markham, ON Much longer shots due to needing an owner not named Balsillie Hamilton, ON

We need team toughness for sure. Maybe need TooToo to introduce Franziska to some toughness. get abby back in it, get ERICSSON back in it!

Good thing i'm at work right now. I'd have probably destroyed my new 60" plasma by now.

Does anyone ever think to question WHY Franzen looked so good in 2008? Because he had the newly retooled grind line with Maltby, Draper, a re-energized Drake, and a sober McCarty to come out and clear the ice for him. NEVAR FORGET THE PAIN TRAIN EITHER. I am more than beyond disappointed that #93 is such a PANSY. Scotty Bowman would have demanded his ass got traded off. If you want to win a cup you need some grit. Look at LA. Their 4th line ended up being straight Demolition men with grit all over the lineup. Brown, Richards, Mitchell, Nolan, King, Lewis, Westgarth, Clifford. ALL of those guys can deliver hits, hold their own, and in the case of the last few on the list, go out and wreck the other team, and score some timely goals (Especially vs Phoenix and Jersey) If TooToo is even half as mad as Drake-RaAaAaAAAAGE above, bloody hell bring him on. Our grit guys would be Tootoo...Big E.....Howard....Abby (maybe)....Bert (sometimes).......Need more angry guys. Franzen for Clarkson (NJ) straight up.

Would you trade Jimmy Howard for an elite forward/defenseman?
Hiei replied to shoobiedoobin's topic in General
Howard and a 1st for Karlsson from Ottawa. That's the only trade i'll accept. -
wouldn't it be funny if Detroit hired lovie smith.
-
What can the NHL do for me? If you fired Bettman tomorrow, I would buy season tickets. Doesn't matter if Detroit is 1100 miles from here, i'll buy em!
-
#96 just won't fill out the front of the net like it used to We'll miss ya Homer.
-
10-6 and missed the playoffs. Terrible. And Lovie can't hide behind OCs anymore, hence why he was fired. He's a great defensive coach and will help a team that is defensively deficient. But that's the rub, the last 5 years we have gotten great talent on the offensive side of the ball. And if the team is healthy next year, we could see Cutler either handing off or throwing to Forte, and throwing at Marshall, Jeffrey, Bennett, and perhaps if he recovers Detroit's Favorite Johnny Knox! Given the talent the Bears have on the defensive side of the ball, they basically drive themselves. We're looking for an offensive coach. 2nd year President George McCaskey and 1st year GM Phil Emery had better prove they got some balls in their shorts and find an offensive HC. And a few offensive linemen wouldn't hurt either. Rumblings out of Detroit showing that they may not be happy with Schwartz. Anyone care to comment?

NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*

And here comes the part where the season is lost -
10-6 would probably sneak us into a 6th seed. Disappointing. with the winnable games vs Houston, Minnesota, and Seattle that should have been won, we'd potentially be 13-3 and 2nd place in the NFC Looks like the Packies are going to throw Jermichael Finley off the island. I don't know that I'd want him on the bears. It also gives me a lot of pain to see Urlacher lumbering like he has the last few weeks. I know Detroit had Barry Sanders who darted off without a second word still in some kind of career shape. we do have a new GM this year and it's hard to tell what we're going to do this offseason.

Get it signed. Get it Designed. Get it planned. GET IT BUILT.

I wanna f***in Barf.

Why in god's name would you root for the Steelers and their Bandwagon s***ty? er City?
-
I'm disappointed in Brandon "That touchdown hit me right in the hands" Marshall. and Kellen Davis will be getting especially intimate with the bench this next week. I'd be surprised if Cutler started next week vs SF, but I think Campbell needs to be allowed to throw. That bomb to Marshall in the 3rd was most excellent. Why do we put davis over the middle and throw to Marshall an inordinate amount of times more than anyone else? Bennett was given super clearance last night because of the constant double-teaming on Marshall. Tice, get it together.

the hell folks? weeks pass and NOTHING in here? Bears 7-1 to take on the texans tonight at home then go TO CANDLESTICK next week to face the 9ers. If we can take Houston tonight, and glorious of shots, take the 9ers next week, that really clears the door to the division, EVEN IF WE LOSE TO THE PACKIES AGAIN. After SF: vs MIN vs SEA @ Min vs GB @ AZ @ DET Let's take care of business tonight vs Houston. GO BEARS!
