I've been looking around and can't seem to find much more than speculation on the number. I would assume it was prior to July 1st to allow teams to figure out their cap situation for free agency, but this is the NHL... so yeah.

Man, I'm just realllllly curious as to what we have to work with. I'm hoping they announce it at the Draft or something.

I like this kid - I would love for the Wings to nab him if he's available.

I know a lot of people really hate Bertuzzi... But saying he doesn't have good hands is ridiculous. That is the one thing about him that has really been noticeable since he's been back. Sometimes it looks like he's got a magnet to the puck on his stick. He's also able to finish high within two feet of the goal line - that certainly isn't easy. Fuss at him for the occasional bonehead play or penalty if you need something to complain about. But for the love of all things hockey, don't question his stick handling and finishing skill.

It is clear everyone knows the NHL has no balls. All the analysts say the same thing: "He deserves a suspension, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't get one" Will the NHL actually step up to the plate for once with everyone talking? All they have to do is give Pronger 1 game. One game would be enough to show that they are at least serious about the players safety. I still don't think they will. Is there any reason to have faith in them at this point?

I wish all games were this stress-less for me. I like cushioned leads. A lot. Anyway, we really showed up to play tonight. If we can steal a second game in Anaheim - I will do cartwheels down my street while juggling flaming torches. Also, seeing John Cusack rooting for the Ducks (I assume) makes me sad.

I was just shocked that Engblom (I think) called "dirty hockey", good playoff hockey all of a sudden. They tear apart Calgary because of their "dirty hockey" and say they should be embarrassed. Anaheim does it (by the analysts own admission) and they are praised for it? I was just so infuriated watching Versus tonight.

Where are you at? Rogers Roost in Sterling Heights has a lot of big flat panel tvs and great food.

This team has shown a lot of heart this year. I don't care what happens the rest of the series/playoffs... you CANNOT be disappointed in this team. A great game by everyone today. Quincey is certainly getting a crash course in the NHL and he is holding his own. The defense as a whole has been pretty good considering the injuries. Yet ANOTHER rally by the Wings today, I love it.

Only one more period of solid hockey by the Wings... ...easy peasy right? *puts 911 on standby* Anyway, I've said it since day 1, I love Bertuzzi and his game - the guy can play. The way he pushes people off while controlling the puck puts him in a very unique category of players. As the rust keeps falling off, he'll get better and better. If we can kill off the penalty right off the bat, we'll be in good shape.

Now, if we can play like that last 1:24 for another 40 or so times a game - we'll be unstoppable!

I agree with the posters that say we won't face another Kipper all playoffs. Yes there are some outstanding goalies left in the West, but I really feel that we have shown we can SCORE for once - even strength at that. No goalie is unbeatable unless you trick yourself into thinking so. Sure, there is some history (as with Kipper and Jiggy), but having a slew of young/different guys on the team pretty much negates any memories of series past.

I would think he'll be okay. Probably just a deep cut right above the eye. Better to be safe than sorry in that area.

I hope he is being serious and that he is right! Because than we would have been greatly underestimating his puck control, geometry and physics genius, ability to do calculations on the fly, psychic powers, and maybe many other super secret powers that could help us win more games.

We played really really well. But none of that matters if we don't get the first goal tonight.

2 hours until game time. Both teams gotta be anxious as all hell right now. As much as they probably aren't thrilled about the schedule, I bet they wish the game would start earlier. Having no Lebda is going to hurt the team speed a lot. But lets hope we get out to an early lead and can sit back a little.
