For those of you who don't understand the waiver wire system
Flip-check replied to a topic in General
To quote Supes' archnemesis: WRONG! He was busy grabbing for Sundin, Lecavelier, Nash, and talking to Selanne about how much he'd like "the Motor *nudgenudge* City". Come on harold, you know Kenny multi-tasks!! -
I saw that one a few weeks ago. It was one of the first Red Wing shirts I've liked in a while. I don't know why hockey apparel has to look so ugly.

I'd seriously have to go down memory lane to figure out who the other 10 teams were and their seasons. Which I don't feel like. But three cups in the last 10 years: it's good enough. However, had we won in '95 and '96... why hell yes I'd like to have an Islanders dynasty streak thank you very much.

I love... to hear... ahhhhhh.... the sound of.... my own...... voooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccceeeeeeeeeeee..... Hello I am John Keating and the sexiest and most clever media man of all time. Watch me admire my own reflection in the camera's shine, mmm do I look good. Or ***? No, I look good. Mmmmm am I hot.

Are you kidding me. He only enabled that 5 on 3 (^ Detroit # 1 Fan) that kicked off the man Nick Lidstrom setting up back to back PP goals. And you do realize that Downey is not the kind of guy you put in at the end of the game, right? That's not his role, not until he starts sporting some Zetterberg-ian skills... which he won't, because he's a grinder and fighter and agitator. Hence that two penalties he drew! -
Detroit News Slap shots "[..] The Wings declared Saturday's game to be "Ladies' Night", offering special entertainment for wives and girlfriends of deer hunters. Psychics and massage therapists worked in the concourse, offering free services. " I was reading through the "No breaks" article and found that. I knew - we all know, f*** - the Wings marketing is done by somebody's kid, but their idea for a "ladies' night"? Deer hunters? It was some kind of joke, right? ignore this if it really was, but I just can't tell anymore when it comes to the Wings promotional team. I'm not normally dense, it's simply that the organization is messing with my radar hardcore.

They haven't. I own the black Starter jersey they sold during the late 90s but that's as far your friends can get. It is a pretty sweet jersey though - for fans. It's never gotten close to any of the players however, unless they were on some smoking hotties!

It really does. This is what Detroit is missing on their roster.. I don't know the average fans reaction to Downey, but if you polled the city's hockey following I doubt you'd find many people saying "that Downey? he plays too rough a game!" =P Besides the excitement for watching, the guys on the ice know and will tell you straight up that having a guy like Downey bolsters your roster. Plus he's smart out there too, he hasn't disappointed us yet. -
If there are any Keating Jr.s in existence, is it our job to kidnap and save them from their fate? I think Brangelina could use a couple stateside adoptions.

You're a fuzzy Little Ball of Hate everyday aren't you. He'll hurt the team Lou! He cost us a goal... and then helped us score twi-.. aww, s*** -
Oops. I totally forgot about that. No, that's not cheesy.. that's disrespectful too. Downey should have clocked him one!
-
Me too. I don't know, you can almost see that "I'm better than you" glint in his eye when he talks to players. And I hate that. The Downey comment from tonight doesn't strike me as bad in of itself, but he just comes off as a dick to me... and that's why we need some LGW people to pull a coup and make him disappear. ^^ Like that HenrikRules40 girl, she could get the job done.

I laughed. Best response ever--sorry harold, but... hee hee hee! Yes. I have to say... that puckhandling ability of Ozzie -really- helps, a lot. Ask Dallas and see if they appreciate having Turco moving that puck, and they'll say the same.

Well, I mean gameplay based on who they're backed by. This factors in anywhere all the time... and even last season I felt they were playing "more protectively" with Dom where with Osgood they didn't have that going on. It's easy to explain this year but I don't know the reason last season, but the players know, they always know. Their shot totals really are about equal so far this season so it's not showing up in the stats, but there's no doubt that a team will play different around a goaltender. That's what I'm basing the "we'll see a different team tonight" on. I think even when Dom is doing well it's that way. Again, I really don't know why, but it'd be an interesting question to find an answer to. -

I want Ellis in.. I don't know why he's been scratched, but I haven't been watching closely lately either. I think we'll see a different team tonight though. They were playing pretty well last night, and again, I kind of expect them to play differently in front of Ozzie. This will factor into how they execute out there. -
I bet they get all catty Loo. Dom tosses his gear all over the place pre-game, Ozzie tells him to pick that s*** up, then just leaves his pads hanging in Dom's stall after the game... The things you never hear about! I know, but I haven't quite seen that movie picture-esque blowup here - Yet. Like where literally everyone is flipping out and it's so insane it becomes somehow beautiful.
-
That one threw me too, lol I'll take a massage though! umm...yeah I'm a deer hunter's girlfriend, gimme!
-
I think Kronwall lost the game for hitting the crossbar, Z lost it by putting the puck through only Khabi's legs and the crease, Babcock lost it by not putting in Downey (lol, well... it still couldn't have hurt!), Dom lost it because he didn't eat his usual ham&cheese that would have made him react faster and stonewall Rene "Hey RAY!" Bourque and Sharp. I still can't tell if you're just pulling on everyone's jocks though. I'd like to believe BlakChamber on this one.
-
Out of morbid curiosity, I'd like to see that thing break. I wonder if it ever has on here...

Pre-game Preview It's a good twelve hours til game time but I figured I'd make the thread anyway, just because I want this game to start already! The Blackhawks have suddenly become interesting this year. But here's to hoping *crosses fingers* that Aflac comes back. If you guys have an eye out, he looks a little like this, and I believe there is an image out on milk cartons for when he unexpectedly wanders away. Keep a sharp lookout: Fact: The Two Kids and a LazyAndSucks Lang line have owned all three GWG this season. LazyAndSucks™ also is posting the team's second spot in scoring with J Willy at 6G & 18P. So far the only Wing forwards nearing that point production are Datsyuk (17) and Holmstrom (16). I'm not really posting that to rub it in anyone's faces (well alright, maybe a little) or to insinuate that his time here wasn't up (it was), more to simply say that he apparently doesn't quite live up to his moniker as much as half the rabid fans wanted. The proof is in the pudding folks. That aside: Go Wings! We'll need an angry Hasek, a fighting Downey <--, and a domination mode Z tonight or unlikely heroes if we're expecting what the Hawks are bringing in '07. Let's get a f-ing win already.

Really? That's great, I thought of grabbing some last minute tix this morning myself. Even though I'll be there 11/27 vs the Flames, it's been a while since October 3rd.
-
This can't be emphasized enough, really. Besides it's not like he would've saved the game tonight, even though he does have powers beyond our mortal ken.
-
Whatever it was it had his number. Possibly a stray McDonald's wrapper from Lang? But on the other hand of the Great Hasek Debate, if Dom were in his "normal form" (which we'll have to see if he's able to reacquire, or if he merely is falling prey to natural age and we got the bad end of the gamble), he would have completely owned all three of those breaks. No question. We've all seen him do it and ridiculously shut down teams before. So all in all I say the blame is 50/50, if I were in a blaming mood. The season is still young yet though.

I turned it on with Sopcast between periods. But I didn't catch much really. It did make me wish I knew French though!

I think he's too tired after teabagging our whole team that was gross, sorry!
