If I mention Mohammed or Jesus Christ, I bet it never reaches 690. Or it does, but it's gang-raped over seven pages and closed prior to 700. There, much more accurate.

You mean we had a chance!?!? Guys, it wasn't going to happen. He would have commanded even more cash on the FA market if he didn't decide to take a Flames discount. 5.5-6M is CHEAP for Kiprusoff.

Confession: I text while driving. Horrendously. Additional Confessions: While driving I also write new song titles from the radio on my hands if scrap paper is unavailable.

I haven't watched all the games this year (to be honest, some of them are just downright snorefests) but that set-up he made for Z's SJ goal was probably the most "Datsyukian" appearance of him on the ice this season. And I miss it. Dats in the zone not only improves our game, but it also makes some of these match-ups sufferable.

Strawberry Fields Forever is what happened to him. I think he's probably just doing his thing somewhere. I peaced out over the summer and came back but surely the GDTs miss the Pure Poetry!!

Call it women's intuition? :!: Now that we're four weeks in it'll be interesting to see how everybody's faring. I'm glad my picks didn't totally fail to wash out this go round.
-
Bobby, you have seen Chelios facewashes before. Smile. Now go avenge.

The goal was also a milestone for Lilja, his 50th point in 330 career games. "Is it?" Lilja said. "I didn't know that. I don't get many points. So it's every milestone I can get." "I like to block shots," Lilja said. "It helps out the penalty kill a lot. Every time somebody blocks a shot it's good because it doesn't go to the goalie. The wisdom that crawls from Andreas Lilja's ever-lovin' mind makes me raise tribute to him - once again - for one more day. <-- Keep up playing a good game Lilly, cos every time you score it's good because it goes into the net.

That is so cool! I LOVE handmade stuff. On a sidenote I watched We Are Marshall and Reign Over Me over the weekend. Surprisingly I liked both.

Is that cleverness? I don't see the point of your comment OsGod. T.Low: That's what I wondered too. It's moot now, but maybe we'll find out down the road should Grigs does the unexpected and turns Holland's opinion of him around in '08.
-
Yeah, I don't know what rwfan was thinking either. That was kind of ignorant, Curt, to be fully honest. If Howard plays well in GR, Ozzie and Jimmy are likely what we'll see. I think the best realistic pick for us would be Bryzgalov in the event of Howard having a poor Griffs season... but I expect that he (Bryz) will be put out of our reach by other more desperate teams.
-
Exactly. Grigorenko isn't done yet, but again, as disappointing and frustrating as this is, the fact that Kenny wants to see if he's worth a qualifying offer next spring is a good sign.
-
Loo you're the best. I should've checked TSN. But you're not kidding, I didn't even see that facewash on Dats! He looked like that kid on the playground who's like, "What'd I do?"
-
It would have, I'm sure. It would've been only an 11 shot SO but whatever, you take those like garbage goals any way you get em. Anybody have a DVR or link to a clip of the excellent Datsyukian deke? It wasn't great, but it was still just funny to see.
-
Some fantastic shots Gizmo. Someone needs to set you up with AP photog seats or straight up lower bowls all season long. That vacant stare by the Pain Train though evidently means he has sniping on his mind. I was proud of him killing it with that pass from Flip!

It isn't too surprising. There was no chance Downey was getting knocked for Grigs, not with what we'd all seen out of him and that the Griffs and Kenny saw. I think only McCabe could have lost a roster spot to Grigorenko in the league right now, it wasn't about Downey vs. Igor. If Grigs were fit though, we might have seen another story end, but that's the point. He came here with zero conditioning and that made him a total bust for this year and possibly forever.
-
Holland: "We've told him we're going to watch him all winter. He now knows what the NHL is all about." To say the least, that line is depressing and you have to wonder what Kenny's expression was when he had to voice it. I'm surprised and glad that they think he's worth a second chance though. As bad as this has all been, the fact that they are willing to try again means that there's -something- there worth trying to dig out after the mindblowing shape that Grigs came over the pond in. That, or that Kenny and Scotty and all the rest are chumps. But I think they know what they're doing.
-
They'll get their heads together some time in the next month or two. As boring as the game was though, there was one good feature: for five minutes after the refs wiped the Z/Homer goal, you heard JLA come alive for once!
-
And they haven't started yet either. I'm not picking one with you, I'm just saying when they start playing well together we have ourselves something of a second line. Our success in the first period was all Filppula, so we need all three of them to start playing well.
-
I'm easy. I just find that you're incredibly early in your "I knew it" assessment. Talk about it in ten games when Flip and Hudler are working well together, because that is a more significant amount of time.
-
So you're seriously arguing that because Filppula made a couple good plays in the first period of one game, we are Officially now a team with two solid scoring lines? Now I get it. Andreas Lilja is going to be our sniper beside Flip too? I like how "until something breaks, we don't need to think about the future" is a genuine statement. It's a great motto... until you find that you're at game 4 in a series down 3-1, because "there [was] nothing to worry about."

You don't need any saving! It's only in movies girls need saving. You can be a badass here.
-
I don't expect Grig's agent to be braindead, so I'm kinda figuring it's the latter.

$1.58 for a cap hit is about a fair fig. Aside from Lidsy and Cleary and Quincey and Valterri (and lions and tigers...), there's also the matter of Ozzie. He will be our starter next year. Deal with it, Kenny!
