We do have things to fix. Again, let me reiterate for anyone reading this: The regular season means nothing. It is an 82 game schedule of preparation for the playoffs. That is what the regular season schedule is, to the Wings. And we don't have a second line. We wouldn't need to split up Zetterberg and Datsyuk if we did.

They can play apart. What was our record without Z last year? We definitely didn't bungle our first place finish. And you're right, this isn't the playoffs--so there's no worry. This is practice for us, and that's sweet as hell.

Basically. Everybody's forgetting that the only reason Z and Dats got paired again was because of the injuries. It's not surprising they're being split again now we're getting guys back. And like I mentioned in that Dom thread, this is the regular season. Since we're going to iron out crap let's do it now, we have the benefit of being a lock for the playoffs.

If he's looking ginger right now, I say play Ozzie and Howard for a while. Let Dom more than take his time and heal up. We're well-ran enough to have the regular season be the pre-playoffs and I'm sure Kenny and Babs aren't gonna take any chances either.

The same thought occurred to me today too actually, but a) the Red Wings wouldn't do that and b) well... that's pretty much it. I'm not sure how much it would matter to Grigs if they did, for discussion purposes. He could still leave for the Russian Super League and I'm not sure how much sway anyone would have in "punishing" the RSL if his team there took him back 'illegally'.

It was close at the end.. that was great puck movement on the PP. Thing is, Vancouver isn't really bringing it tonight. I don't exactly want them to start, but this isn't the best Canucks team we could face.

I wish Dom would have dropped his paddle when it was bouncing off the backboard. But I don't know if he saw or had the time to do it.

I was impressed by that right before the refs made me forget it. And the extra 4 mill... why buy something if there's nothing? That's why they haven't thrown away their extra salary dollars.
