Let's face it, Z is going to slow down at some point
Flip-check replied to Flip-check's topic in General
On that day they'll just close the league. "That's it guys, no one can top this. It's done. We're done." -
Chris Chelios doesn't think. He has pre-cognitive visions. He already knows that a Sedin twin will go through the glass near the Vancouver net on Wednesday.

Ok, ok, here goes: Henrik Zetterberg knows no name for "my love, my own" but Bobby A. They will be joined in wedded bliss and have many half-Swedish NHL-ready children. Satisfied?

I walked without impediment for the first time in four days today. That was fantastic. On another note, I wish it were fall year 'round.

I am totally on ESPN's payroll and... I predict that Z will go on a scoreless streak for the rest of this season. Then he'll be a no-show in the playoffs. Watch that expertise work its magic. What, you don't want to hear my eggspertise either? -
It was a joke, sure, but it's one that has lost its ability to be funny. Just like jokes about how black people "sure like their watermelons and chicken ". The two are obviously on different levels, but they're both boring and repetitive.

Gallows? I think HR40 is readying a full out torture chamber. Never remind a girl visibly that her one true love is actually dating somebody who isn't her. Else face the fury. What are you implying here? -

If he doesn't drop off too severely he should be in the top five or ten. I'm thinking this is Z's breakout year though. I don't know what's in store.. but it'll be damn good watching it unfold. -
Would it be better to put him in after a loss? Not really. I hope the guy has enough to justify a roster spot, but I think this call up is going to be that last night out you have before dumping someone. Only Grigs will be the one gotten rid of. Just saw this: No, it doesn't. The 'pick a whipping boy' mentality around here is lazy and, to be honest, boring as f***. No, we don't need any roles of that kind to be filled. I know you're half-kidding Kp, but the forum doesn't need any encouragement on singling out a player to hate on irrationally and excessively. It's seriously gotten old and I'm not the only one who recognizes this.

Grapes couldn't stave off going senile for ever, you know. I'm glad El Bobbert is improving his game in Chicago. I see nothing that kept him from playing well here, either, however - not even "increased minutes" that he gets in the windy city. But it's good he's showing that he wants it this year at least.

Maltby's only hope for a hattie is gonna be in an empty netter. He's had a good game aside from the goals too. Just watch his skating out there and you see the hustle and effort when he's got or chasing the puck. But my heroes so far are the Ellis and Downey line. Toss Cleary on there and you've got a mini-Grind Line.

I think if Hank's goal is called in, you don't see the Coyotes even get one goal back on us. But the best thing for a Phoenix team is to be given confidence. I'm pretty sure that 2-0 deficit would have deflated them enough to keep their two goals off the scoreboard.

After a 500-lb behemoth jumps from the stands to turn HSBC arena into a gladiator's Coliseum Afinogenov: It's too terrible! I can't fight it! Klesla: I'm going in! Tell my kids- no, no time! RRRAAAAUUUUGH!
-
I've got that same Hank quote sigged too Lou. It'll get changed out later, but right now there is no such thing as overexposure in settling this debate. It is the anvil indeed. For now.
-
Hands off, soldier. You can keep your Smyth/Superstink sig but this one is ALL mine. I bet all the Tampa fans down there have already turned you from Zetter anyway. Should we expect a Vinny sig soon? We've found you out, Downey will pulp the cavalier Lecavalier.

No prob, I figured it was just a bad read. We like to argue here, but I know you haven't lost your mind to LGW - yet. Mean? Yes. Appropriate? Depends who you ask!
-
Uh... so how is the baby now? Is s/he more or less miraculously okay or...?
-
NFM: TMI said Neither is in the same category as Lids.
-
It depends. Doan is pretty young still too - he's only 30 or so, so it could be good. I was mostly picking at the tendency of LGW posters to immensely overvalue or devalue a player based on... what, one or two games? That's the turnaround rate that I've noticed on people's opinions here. I really would like to say yeah or no, but I don't know how much potential Flip really has in him. I would be sorely tempted though especially with our needs right now, but that's part of the problem.
-
I think Forsberg would be an excellent acquisition. A few other posters see the wisdom in it too. There aren't any 2nd line scorers in the league that we can pick up without suffering losses for on the tradefront.
-
I just wasn't sure on your post. It sounded like you were inferring the Avs haven't been around long enough to raise Sakic up, but good, that can of worms is not opened. I didn't even know Roy had been retired until about fifteen minutes ago. At least the Avs have one credible retiree.
-
The best part about the internet: How if a guy like Dallas Drake has a fight, he's instantly our Primo Enforcer. If Drapes scores five goals in five games? The guy is totally going to be our second leading goal scorer after Zetterberg. Dom has a slow start? Old and washed up, that's for sure. I know it's easy to knock fan opinions on the sport, but come on, the short-sightedness here is amazing.
-
Would have been? Is a no-brainer. The Avs/Nordiques are 27 years in and that's history enough, so Sakic will definitely be retired when he decides to call it quits.
