I wouldn't have put it in those words, but I kind of agree... the first three to five pages being filled with "Wings 3-2! (Osgood, Dom, Osgood)" or the next post "Sharks 4-3 (Kopecky, Osgood, Dats)" does get repetitive. It doesn't matter as much to me as what indeed does come to pass.

That's pretty cool. I knew the UK was 5 hours off us, but that 7 hour difference must suck. A 5:30a start time actually sounds bizarrely cool however. To watch, not for them to start at. The guys can't even handle a noon icetime without handing over the game.

That's Kp's point. I don't think Downey would really do all that much (and I know that Kp-Wings isn't saying he -would-), but it's also frustrating to me when for instance, in that Kings game one of the only two Red Wings I remember laying the body included him. The other? Kronwall. Everything else is just pee-wee checks and I'm just so sick of how soft this team's become - I know, I know, the broken record shout at the heavens for half of the boards. The ridiculously sad thing is we're probably going to have another regular season just like last. No balls-out play, no standing up for eachother, and we'll maybe only step it up in the playoffs. And we'll probably end up with Datsyuk or Zetterberg getting targeted mid-season, crosschecked in the back, whatever, and what next? Nothing. Maybe at worst a face-wash, some "mean words" during the next faceoff, and maybe a half-hearted push-and-shove match a couple shifts afterward if the guys feel really vindictive.

I remember Filppula keeping pace with Z&D while Homer was recovering from the playoff eye injury last year, but you're right, nearly anyone will do alright. And as much as I think Hudler and Flip have 40-50 point potential (down the road), they just are too green to be on the same line together. I just can't wait until/if Holland makes a move to make this team more than 1st/3rd/3rd/4th liners on down.

It's amazing to me how many people think toughness isn't needed on this team. It's almost like a bad practical joke when someone comes on and says "BUT GUYS look at how tough we were last playoffs?!?!?//////1", but then... You realize they're actually serious. These are guys that have obviously never played hockey in their lives or have some inability to, I don't know... have balls? I can't think of any better phrase for it. And I can probably list a handful of ladies on LGW that have more balls than those hockey (Cue Arnold!) girly men.
