There is a minor difference. All I can say is just look closer--the new one does arc up and it's "stubbier", instead of sailing out to the side. It doesn't matter that much, but like Offsides, I don't like the removal of the shoulders though. I thought those were a definite good part of the uniform... whatever their reasons for omitting them, they'll be missed.

These days I'm pulling a Scott Niedermayer temporary retirement from league play... I'm 24 now, the last time I played a whole September to March season was probably at 19. Between moving across the country a couple times, work, school, and everything else, it simply got shunted off to the side. Anybody who's stayed off the competitive ice for that long knows how long that really is though. I occasionally drop in at Farmington for the public games, but that's seriously the extent of my skating this past summer--whenever I get back into league play, I definitely want to make sure I'm in tip-top shape for it too. It probably doesn't matter to up my conditioning for any kind of rec league, but it matters to me. It's a good one, there's also this from Swingers (referencing NHL 93/94, the greatest hockey games ever) : Trent: I wish they still had fights in this game so I could *****-slap Wayne. Mike: What? They don't have fighting anymore? Trent: Doesn't that suck? Mike: Why'd they get rid of the fighting? It was the best part of the old version. Sue: I think kids were hittin' each other or somethin', man. Trent: Yeah but you know what, Mike? You can make their heads bleed in this one. Mike: Make somebody's head bleed. It's pretty sharp, I haven't been there for six years now. I just like that there are no cars... it's nice Fudge on the boat back from there is the -best- boat ride snack ever. Don. Good questions. We've probably all touched on them at some point.. it's good to get them rounded up for some offseason discussion though. 1. Wil Kronwall reach #1/#2 Dman status within his current contract (next 5 years)? If he figures out that he needs to (and how to) play smarter, yes. Even NBC commentators see the way he sets himself up for taking a hit or spill and gets landed with an injury--if the guy learns, he'll be up there. 2. Will Grigorenko prove to be a capable top 6 forward this season? No. He will be a good 4th liner greenie cracking the line up though. 3. Will Hudler score 20+ goals this season? Yes. This kid pulled 15 on crap minutes just juicing goalies, don't even say he won't net 20 on the third line. 4. Will Filppula have a 45pt season? Flip should pull around 35. 20 goals, fifteen-twenty assists, so double his numbers. 5. Will Lilja get in more than 5 fights? Let's get to the real point on Lilja's superstar fighting rise: Will Lilly fight Boogard, and win? 6. Will Rafalski have a career offensive year? Easily. 7. Who will be the alternate captains when Zetterberg gets the C? I actually... can't think of who else than Drapes would get an A. Maybe Kronwall when the time comes. If he keeps up his play, Cleary. I don't really count Dats in the runners unless he picks up his English. 8. Does Cleary turn out to be a one hit wonder, or does he repeat with another 20+ goal showing? I want to say: f*** yeah he does repeat. What we'll see depends, but boy do I want Dano to turn his career around more. I'd answer the last two questions (great questions, of course), but gimme/give us a '08/'09 FA list and it'd be a lot easier.

I think most of the fan rivalry even from old time fans has died off ever since the Leafs left. It's just not able to sustain itself when you don't play eachother. My last real memory of Toronto was '92 or '93 when they ousted us in the first round. Past that they're just a pleasant memory, waiting for us to rejoin them in the event of a miracle.

I've been cuffed once in my life and thought that the lady officer might be the one to handle that (and she was cute), but then mister man stepped up to the plate stupid cops wait until the state decides your license can be reinstated/unrevoked/unsuspended, that's how and until you learn not to drive drunk. This isn't really directed at you personally, but I have zero sympathy for people who drink and drive.. from stories in general, to seeing it myself

Didn't Scotty deny talks with them before, only for it to come out that he actually had been discussing things over? I've only read the two articles posted here, so I'm not really saying it's this way or that way... but in a way, I actually hope this is true. We benefit from him a ton I'm sure, and so does Babs, but to see someone try and turn the Leafs around would be -fantastic-. And someone that might actually give Leaf fans a good reason to mindlessly pile into the arena and support management, instead of the.. uh.. reasons they have now, like none but they do it anyway. I'd really rather have Scotty "retire" a Wing, and who doesn't, but there's just so much punishment you can watch another fanbase go through before feeling - if somewhat undeserved - sympathy for the whole lot

I think to this day there's one song by them that -isn't- a whinefest (that I've heard, at least) Whenever they come on 89x I almost can imagine the lead singer going on about how he's so neglected and never feels at home by his darling (that *****!) of a girlfriend he has (to put up with!) And who's so awful he may as well go get drunk and start a fight with her and her dog later, too. =D gotta love 'em, Ross Guster - Red Oyster Cult is one of my picks right now. No offense Brandon, but I don't know why you'd say that without evidence to the fact. No one knows yet the extent to which this will become an issue - and just because Bert's career (momentarily, permanently) tanked doesn't mean Hank has the same fate. It doesn't mean he doesn't, either. NFM mentioned the trend he observed but reading your response, I just pick up that same feeling--like since other people laid their lumps on players like Lang and Bert, Z's not getting any from the LGW crowd so someone may as well deliver. I'm just confused. When Bertuzzi entered the offseason despite the sure risk he posed as a FA signing, it never occurred to me to say "he will fail us" or "he will not fail us".. simply because that's not a thing anyone can definitely answer. I don't get your lean toward certain doom for Z for that same reason.
