Whatever other teams are likely, Anaheim is definitely one of them. Kariya... I'm not sure if he'd work out here (he's be a great addition w/o a doubt though), but the yes/no really doesn't matter because we won't get him, anyway. I'd be surprised if we picked up Ryan Smyth as it is.
-
I can't wait to hear something out of Kenny about all this. That's all I want: To see signings happen or not happen.
-
When do you leave? Thursday or Fri to start some local searching while you grab a temp hotel room?
-
I agree, Z at 6 would be a steal, and 5.5 pointblank robbery. I really don't think we're going to pick up Smyth though. Even if Markov and Schneider both ( ) walk.
-
Anaheim would sue. Mister Drake would hate taking a shift against Pronger with a foam mallard head in lieu of helmet.

Faygo turns 100 this year. I celebrated this with a Rock 'n Rye on the way home. My feet are killing me. Still.

The idea of Bert being sidelined for 20-30 games really bugs me. I hope that back of his doesn't mean he'll top out at 65--except if it's merely wise to rest him like we will Dom. Then.. I've been pretty confident that we'll get Bert back.... I think the days of Bert rampaging down the boards on all six cylinders are over. If he proves us all wrong though, that would be -GREAT-. Let's do some damage, #44!
-
It's a bargain (age and looming injury potential aside), without a doubt. But it still sucks, especially considering: 1) Dom's rich, he's already rich. 2) It's his last year, does he want to make money or win a Cup? 3) That cash really could help us -- and him. Not his bank account, but him and his team.
-
At this point I wish "hope" were even a word the organization used. Nashville wasn't a rival to us by any means (I'm pretty damn picky about that title though), but they were setting up to be a damn fine team before this ownership mess. They aren't awful now, either, in losing Fors or Kariya, or dumping Vokoun.. the chances at competitiveness are less now, is all.
-
It blows to say the Wings don't have any rivals, but they don't. Calgary and Anaheim may spark something this next year (Yzerfan's right, they're the closest imaginable), right now though assigning rivalries is a reach though. It nearly makes me want to go back to that Ottawa/Sabres game at the end of last season. To expand the whole question we got here: Who in the hell in the NHL even are rivals anymore?

It's a savannah out there. I melted throughout the afternoon today. I want to veto the sun--that is, I would if I didn't love it so much.
-
Do they rock more? I'd say it's a toughie. They do leave a better aftertaste though.

Holland: Prices for Bertuzzi, Schneider & Markov high

Chalk my response up to "thinking everybody on LGW's always on the same page". hahahaha -
I hate these kinds of threads. The LGW joke on Lang was funny for a little while... but then it got old, and to re-up it with someone new to hate on is older. If we even need to vote on a guy who sucks, then evidently no one sucks enough for it to be totally obvious. Frankly (man do I hate that word) I'd rather not start this up until someone actually deserves the infamy. Check that, IF anyone actually deserves the infamy. We got a pretty solid non-Lang crew coming into '07-'08.

Why is that intriguing? We know they're expecting him to play this year, else go back across the Atlantic. It's been out there a while. I'm confused by the statement. -
Plymouth Whalers' goalie Jeremy Smith: Then Chris Terry who probably got told to sit in front of the red-lit screen, like countless other draft day-victims: -- It actually ain't that original, cos others have the same kinds of poses too. I thought the Smith photo was pretty cool though.
-
Hahaha, you were there! Talk about dedication. I haven't even watched anything on the draft, but I could believe that though. It's been talked of here and there the past few days.

Same. You know, I get younger players having to keep demanding top dollar on the market--they gotta in order to protect future offers--but players like Schneids and the rest, what's the point? Aside from wanting top dollar, anyway. You don't want to take a "sucker" deal just to stay on a team (you know, 2.5mill for a year of hockey-playing), but a lower number that isn't going to invite future lowballs thrown your way, to aid a Cup-contender, you gotta side with that. -
Hahahah!!! Lilja-love has been surpassed for all eternity! Who knew Lilly'd won such approval... He's got "C" written all over him.

I bet his papa is where the size was. HIs mother... not so much. Imagine if Rex were a whole-sized Hudler at 6'1" 200lbs. The hudler would immediately increase in international value.
-
This thread is getting downright deadly with the lol-factor! It leaves you gasping for air!
-
The back problems, especially post-surgery, other folks say could stick with him. I'm with you and the rest though--I want Bert signed, if he has a fairer shot this year he'll be great. I'd probably want to get him in the 2-2.5 range though. I hope hope hope he's not going for 3, I want the guy to come back here -and- be reasonable. 11 hudlers tops, with three British pounds and a US dollar thrown in. Who doesn't want to receive some Rexian currency? (edit: It's the first thing that came to mind with the talk. Fifteen hudlers--right in my back pocket, por favor!)
-
I know, people have to keep in mind these kids are still babies. No kidding at all there, they're still fresh-faced with the baby fat all over on most of them. They'll have time to grow lean, tough, big and mean for their NHL debuts.

I am now the proud new leasee of a chevy Cobalt. It rocks.

Without a doubt. Thank you very much, Philadelphia. Is Bryz any better than Ozzie? I'd believe it if he were: I know nothing about him, except for when Giguere's Pads were out at J.S. and jr.'s bedside. It's likely not necessary though, if Jimmy posts a good year in GR.
