This realization that hockey is occurring (after a month and a half layoff between the Conference and Cup finals)... makes me sick with desire No woman could ever break my heart the way that not seeing Hank, or Dats, or Bert, or Dano for a weekend does! They are my loves... and in fact, I even dreamt last night that me and Huds hung out like major bffs. For some reason Offsides and OsGod were babysitting him though.

It won't look as hot without him. And I'm loathe to panic, but like you I'll definitely prefer he not take his pads and go home. At least for one more year, at least for one hard shot at the Cup and win. And also... Montrealhater, yeah, we could use a guy to finish on the PPs and even in general. We talk about our goalies a lot in this town, but having a solid man to help open up the ice on those would aid us - immensely. Zero doubt.

This is how we should get out all our fights and disputes. I'm tired of all the disordered hate and complaining: I want it in one place, in unity. Let's hate by the rules, okay? This is why the likes of Eddie Izzard and Sarah Silverman are complaining of no business for them. The internet steals all the lolz out of the mouths of babes. And coinkydentally, both of them.. kinda are.

I think the same's been said of the Preds when... it's likely a couple of guys being assholes and not the whole squad. Same with the Preds oops wut Ducks: aside from Perry's ***** just kidding threats and Pronger's play (and Niedermayer), none of them stood out to me on the a-hole radar.

That didn't bother me so much... but it definitely does leave a note of finality about professional players skating at Joe Louis. It hit me today again when I saw a picture of Selanne laughing in practice and thinking -- "That should be our guys." Pretty self-absorbed, but I'm pretty cool with seeing Teemu in the finals (but not Pronger: if Pronger y'know, dies inexplicably, will that make him ineligible for Cup inscription? Probably not), out of anyone on that squad. It's still a little bitter to know that they're toast and out after watching them go through all this.

I think we're the few up this late & early. I have no reason other than I can. The time difference between us and any of you guys in Scotland/England/Europe always bugs me though... whenever I'm texting anybody over there sometimes I wanna do it at 7p and always, always realize "oh yeah, 12 midnight there - ehhhh". Is she okay?

I'd figure that after 13 years of no cup (totally going by what some site said) it'd be time to root for the Sens... guess not though, for whatever reason Canadians have. Still seems really odd though.

I'd eliminate the regular season. Why? Because who wants to wait another whole year for their team to enter the playoffs and try all over again? I'm kidding. I just hate having got this far and having to wait 10 mos. to get back to the playoffs. Once this disappointment wears off we'll all be fired up again about the next season, and every little bit of each thing we analyze and pick apart about Detroit hockey. I bet you all that seeing a healthy (and re-signed) Bert, a playoff-proven Datsyuk, a healthy Zetterberg, a few rookies getting improved roles, no Lang (kidding, I'll miss Bob, but not his play), and if we keep Dom's interest.. It'll be quite an exciting year to watch and babble about.

Let's hope so. I believe it'd be foolish for Matty to head out of town--seriously, anyone knows this is a Cup contender now. They brought it in the regular season... they followed up in the playoffs. Against the grain of everyone's opinions, even their own at the start of the year. Markov I don't know about, but if I were Schneider, I'd be considering winning another Cup in the latter years of my career. And how sweet that itself would be.

The technical term is interweb connoisseur, I insist. Me either though. I think that was a high point for Grapes and his career. Even though the guy had to instantly lean forward every time he talked and he's an obvious blowhard... I was pretty happy to see him go with it. But if you ever imagine Cherry wrapping an arm around Ron on HNIC, don't look at me!
