I got no idea about Babs not playing Hudler, but I think the guy's pure skill is pretty high. His size is the only drawback to him as a player--watch him sometime next season (he'll probably be around, you couldn't get much for him anyway), he's got good puck handling skills, he keeps his head up, and that 15 goals on limited ice time is a great indicator. Mike's kept him off the ice, but it isn't because he doesn't have potential.

Like D #1 Fan mentioned, it'd be -great- if they were interested in getting a Cup and taking a shot in the (already millions-filled) wallet. It'd actually remind me of '02 and guys taking cuts to land other players. Would Detroit actually try to get Smyth though? I've heard so many people compare him and Homer as if the two would become redundant on the roster. Or if he's Homer + skating/stick handling skills, then that's great. And just to play along with the fantasizing--I feel if you stuck Hank between two muscle guys like Bert and Smyth, you'd see some massive production out of mister Zetterberg. Absolute massive.

He messed up his tailbone, big whoop. If he injured his back again? Then pointing him out makes sense. Seriously, the guy missed the whole season, and he wasn't even 100% . His role isn't something that we're giving him -- his role is something that -he- supplies. If he's able to play his hard power forward game, on-ice strategies aside, that's what we want. If not, then he plays a role suiting to his diminished ability. He has a whole summer though to recoup and get back to real form. His glory days are over, but if the guy's healthy (AND not coming to us having not played hockey for nearly a year), I think he can still play quite a game for us.

She may have a different fate! You haven't seen the future yet! A-Rab is a new captain. I will only complicate you. trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave. I will work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down. But like some of my friends say, just call me Moby. The dice are rolling now though: Bobby may not be able to turn the course anyway. She may have to pursue me, as ordained by the stars, to whatever end fate is to be hers: a fine pwning or to be, well, as the Portuguese say, "the pwned." I find the idea of working at a "Town Hall" to be oddly cool. There ain't nunna dem here in these plus-sized populations. Or that we notice. We all need a simple kind of life in some smaller communities, at least two months out of the year I believe. And cars like these to get us to and fro our Town Hall service jobs.

Huds lives in Langer's house? I never knew that Rex was close to being Bobbert's real son! I can't begin to wade into what Babs might think of Hudler... but I know it'd be a stupid decision to get rid of him. The kid seriously has potential, whatever his size. I don't anticipate any moves with him though, actually. Plus... except for a team that's paid attention to him, there wouldn't be any offers for "little" Jiri. Bert looked positively useless out there in game 6, as far as his skating went. I have no idea if that damaged tailbone actually factors into that or not. With Calder that's straight-up surprising. And it blows--maybe we all made a larger case for him than he actually had in the early round though. I can't say, as I haven't watched him much through the playoffs.

We have our own weight loss struggles sometimes too! I'm 24 now... I don't bounce back as quick as I used to. And if you really want to pwn me that bad, you'll just have to try harder. Some of us are the toughest catch yet of the largest worth.

You know you're a Detroit Red Wings fan if...

There are moments in life where individuals come to believe that people, actually, are worthy of and fundamentally good. Then a moment like now, where: To read this makes me actually want to have children, in hopes of recreating precisely that same moment. Just like this. -
I sincerely ignore Rabs whenever she starts talking about pwning people. I cannot say why or what my mind associates with that. I can say that no person ever gets to pwn me and someone else. I ain't no lover's fool. It's a pretty gross idea, yet attractive at the same time. I ate a few spoonfuls the other day. Elsh, I think the health-conscious members of the forum would revoke your ability to complain about anything after reading that post. I simply congratulate you on being oblivious to 20 pounds of loss, just like me.

I really have no idea who this dude is.

Glas, remember the Secret Mancode. Section #1: Men are never pwned by the girlies. We've still a ways to go with you, sir.
-
I think it'd be a great move, but it's tough when it's a business and you want to spread it. The quality of the game would, I feel, go up if the talent pool were picked at from a smaller pool of teams though.
-
Homer getting cuddly with him? No doubt. And with a daughter as adorable as that, it's imperative he win it for his family again!

After two straight nights of you drunkenly smashing things around the apartment raving about the playoffs, that's called being smart. We need to send you to AA and some anger management lessons. Pronto.

He's only thirty-six now? The guy has many years ahead of him in Detroit! Just because google is everybody's bff.... - One huge ass Drapes shot.. -

We'll still be able to sign those fifteen free agents and ten NBA stars who want to play in the NHL. Numbers mean nothing!
-
It's probably a big no. I don't think either of them have anywhere near that talent. It's right over here, along with his NHL stats: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&am...83&tab=crst Hank's early Wing production hovered around 15-22, and Jiri picked up 15 notches on extremely limited ice time, but I think it's still apples and oranges for either Flip or Huds.
-
I agree. As much belief I have in Bert's ability to be a presence out there, he may be a lame duck next season. It might not be about the injuries by then. I'm still pretty inclined to resign him at less, even knowing the risk. I haven't paid much attention to the free agent list and what they're all likely to ask for... especially with so many people shouting out ideas of "sign these top three forwards and I know Kenny can do it!" No, Kenny can't, unless he's figured out a way to get some of our returning squad to play for nothing.
-
I honestly have no idea about some of them... except for Flip and Hudler. Kronwall is everybody's "Is he gonna learn how to keep himself healthy?" question mark, Grigorenko is simply another big uncertainty, and that rounds most of the 'hey we know what you got' guys. Then there's Lebda--this is his third season, but he's still developing. Anyone's seen some of his offensive initiative especially when it comes to his ease with carrying the puck right into their zone with speed himself, and that's something. I haven't seen that out of a lot of Wing -forwards- this playoff run. And yet the guy is obviously able to do it, post-season or not. Honestly though, when it comes down to our two brightest stars: it's Jiri Hudler, then Valterri Filppula. Hands down. Flip is more dependable with his size, but I truly believe that Huds is the one with the better hands, on-ice awareness, and basic skill with the puck. This year he needs more icetime... because the guy deserves it.
-
He fell off the radar for me about the mid-'90s--I truly didn't know he was playing anymore. The guy had such a rep for being great on the blue line offensively though. I'm sure it was largely earned after that '93-'94 run, but he put up decent totals for the better part of the decade. And just to recant that Conn Smythe production year... 23 gp -- 11g-23a-34pts +19 Or in other words, ABSOLUTE GUNPOWDER

You really do, just... probably with a wider face. There are def some similarities there. You and your wife look sharp! And also, this is jes' sure'm gold right 'eah: I love it. It's so sneaky.

At World's End begins today.... aaaaaaand I am so gonna be there!

I think it's because I'm jealous of you and H's mom eating dinner together. It takes over my brain and assaults my good intentions.
-
Here's the thing that will sour any possible win of yours: even if you earn her fine cooking (ask H!), she will never love you enough to cook for you the best food that only her family (and somewhat me) know. She loves me, because all Moms love me. So it's like you may have your man's heart wherever he is, but it'll always be overshadowed by the fact that he loves another woman. Am I devious or what? (..here's something to take the edge off though -- )
-
You'll let him fit a massive square peg into a not so big square hole? Please be believable before saying, "I haven't thought about it, so I expect Kenny should be able to make it work."

After your team is eliminated...who do you root for?

I seriously am done with hockey for the year, I think. This wouldn't be so bad if the Finals were really interesting: but come on, Anaheim paired against Ottawa? That's not even remotely interesting. And I like hockey. They would've been better off having CBC bribe Giguere to let in one of those five scoring chances last night and one more for OT to make a game 7.
