The AS game doesn't really even have much a purpose other than to gather a bunch of guys for a game that... means nothing and isn't all that exciting either. I hate to be a naysayer here, and AS games from sport to sport *are* good things to showcase players with, but they're all so boring. And if I were a guy nursing something, I sure as hell would skip it. Your regular joe player who might be lucky to get one ASG nod in his career won't be as quick to, but the guys who know their worth in the league, they also know it's not worth it. But this isn't an issue 90% of the time anyway, so I don't know why I'm posting
