-- Game 5 so cannot come fast enough. This weekend is fine fine fine, but Sunday is two eternities away.
-
I know, but isn't it true that you do, John? I wish it were the case (all because Huds' is awesome and that'd be funny), but alas it was because someone thought I might be Zettermaburg and was all like "if dat'z uuuuu, hit me up 'cuz ur is cuteness x 4" Then again if male wings fans galore started pm-hitting on me because of Huds.. I'm afraid that would become the one avatar to retire, forever.

Haha! I know, I should have been like "mistaken for a girl like the way HR and Jen get taken for guys" I think it's probably because you three give off that knowledgeable hockey fan vibe. Little do they know that you're all knowledge ladies ontop of it!
-
I believe Bert wears that pink so authoritatively HC, you have to admit that one. I also just got mistaken for being a girl in a pm just like HR40 and Offsides often do a bit ago for posting that one... and hit on, no less. I am feeling decidedly sexy now regardless.

I know, same here. Game 7 would be great... and ontop of that exciting as hell to watch. Anyone know the movie that dialogue is pulled from? Yeah, obviously someone does since it's probably a classic, but it's totally one that's beyond my time and/or reference. I believe the Sabres are toast, but I'd be very glad to see them extend this. -- Drury: HEY! What's this lying around s***? Connolly: What the hell we supposed to do ya moron? Briere: War's over man.
-
There is also a certain picture to contend with. If this can't win a body over... ..nothing on earth or the other side of heaven ever possibly could
-
I'm starting to think your plan of getting smashed around me is a very bad idea. C'mon Bobby, you know better :nonono: I am open however to a pre-set number of drinks for you and some time on the dance floor though, so let's do it responsibly like that!
-
Haha! This is one of the best stories of the day! Bert killing a neighbor with kindness (what??), and all around being friendly. This is the best press ever for the Bertuzzi monster.
-
I know you do, I just had this image of him being mourned for dead due to the benching, haha. ^-- cracking up still, obviously! 'kyle calder will live on!' I truly believe that the Wings know what kind of player Kyle is though, and he will be back with us next season. He was a great acquisition for us.. and I remember Kenny I think saying some positive as heck things about him when we got him into town. Hahaha! Or Paris indeed. No, actually I get your initial reaction, because I don't like it either when people seem oh-so-superly surprised or taken aback by things--because that usually is a bit of a useless response, and a bit of an ignorant one, so I understand the frustration at thinking it was a "omg we are so shocked" thread. And that too, I think if I lived in Europe (or in South America, from what I've heard), I'd totally form a moral stance against sporting events and their inclusion in people's lives. Not because pro/national sporting events or competition are inherently evil--but simply because of the way they act as an outlet to some very detrimental, very unimportant facets of human behavior and violence. They become a channel for destruction in that sense, rather than one for peace.

It's also a funny thought to me, especially when it's framed in utterly patronizing terms like that. Sometimes when it's put in absurd ones. Even when it approaches insulting "like beating on redheaded stepchildren" ones. !

No doubt, obviously you and John Cusack are a winning pair. We ought put out a quick recut of Say Anything with you in the lead female role and televise it at the Joe before games. (That secretly is so cool though... Cusack is the bomb diggity, it's great he was at a hockey game) Hahaha, I know!! Oz looks so smug in that one, it's awesome. The contrast between Bob's "GODZILLA!" arms and Cleary's weary as f*** one arm in the air is hilarious, and so are your inserted words for Dano HC

The league thinks we ought to though. I mean, what about the ads that try and "REMIND US" (lolz) of the super huge rivalry that Colorado and we have? And the big bad hated Preds? Chicago and Detroit would be majorly cool to have in the East, but I'm not sure they'd ever do that. The idea of Detroit going - as sound as it is, as right as they should have first choice in switching conferences - is tough enough a sell. Chicago would very much fit in the eastern Canada/States travel zones though, and it'd feel very wrong to have only one O6 team left by itself in the West. Keep all those babies together, don't split the litter.

"will live on" lol! !! edit: I just realized that we have the same benched theme behind our avs, how funny!

I have to admit to not knowing why you equate considering this worthy of attention with being -shocked- (which it isn't--to be shocked would be to be surprised, which none of us are), and ontop of that thinking the significance accorded it bad. It ain't on the scale of people getting wiped out in Africa that we don't even hear about, but it's worth the regard that we pay it. And Crym, you probably wouldn't get too many popular sentiments for the above, but I agree on seeing the connection between some of the aspects of "modern chivalry" and equality, then gender roles. It bugs me in the day to day when seeing some of the more extreme examples of women who are so dolled up as if to deliberately look like they're only there to be looked at... and/or in their mannerisms play the role of being incapable of doing anything for themselves, in order to attract the kind of men who enjoy that. <-- That's kind of unrelated to the specific matter of chivalry/equality, but anyway, I know what you mean on some of the destructive aspects that undermine the capability that women have. The huge undercurrent of misogyny in a broad variety of men is still on my mind. I've gotten to hear the minds of too many guys who talk about their girlfriends/girl friends/women they don't even know in pretty moronic ways that would make you want to label them sociopaths--and some of these, I think, get spurred on by some of our gender roles here, in this era. Although I'm still a fan of being courteous to women, sans pretenses of them needing it. I pretty much can see a lot of sides on this - important, imo - discussion.

Vlady, those are some great seats! It sucks that you didn't get the win then, but still! ^-- bullocks... probably NBC deals. The Sabres and Sens are on in the afternoon on Sat, we get the day after. Afternoon games are full of argh Here are some other pics that I've ran across lately, some of them from the Freep's photo gallery (they get some gems, and I love their practice shots), just in case some of you guys don't go looking through them--you get to see them now! the Fronz signing at Anaheim, 'cos he's just a cool motherf***er like that! =D From the Sharks, but that's a classic picture of Z and Sammy "So this waitress asked me for my name and number Mike, and I told her they call me The Wizard.. She said "of what?" and well -- *smirk* -- you know how it goes, coach!" red love folks, that's all

I would like very much to organize all of lgw around bonfires with log seats and s'mores over the flame to hear these Dom stories. We would throw the most awesome primitive fire-in-the-woods party on Sunday night since the Germanic savages pushed the Saxons out of their territory back in ol' 802. And that's a fact.
-
Yeah, right, all one of them, you wish I'd rather buy drinks for Heroes of Hockeytown, and he can't even do it! The guy can hold his stuff, if even only when his (dear) mommy isn't watching.
-
What could Kp-Wings be saying here.... if only there were someone to decode the hidden message!
-
Pretty much my same stance too. I recognize how stupid people out there are - therefore why give them a chance to act on that stupidity? It's cool for people who want to (Os, that's awesome that you do, no doubt!), and it's not out of fear here--I'd simply go nuts on anyone who started in on trying to assault me or my company at a game. I don't tolerate any of that out of people. In addition to all that, it shows how worthless and mindless those people are if they're going to attack another human being - over a sports game. ^-- Hahaha!
-
I think Crymson's right that it's sad that it happened to anyone, at all, but you've got it about strength and genetics factoring in. In a way I "get" some people's complaints that such views are condescending to women... ..but it's probably that with the equality of genders that's been building up over the past two hundred years, no one wants to say it, even though it's one of those truths - in the general spectrum. And something still bugs me about whenever people openly say it - but that's probably because I've heard so many assertions of women being "weak" by some men, and not in a.. ah, way you'd ever want to hear. To speak of women's lesser physical strength in a casual manner always seems to open that misogynistic door for some, I suppose.

If only Tom weren't such a lame nickname, then we could have Rex #2. CLANGTUZZIWILLBRING IT in game 5! Watch out Perry! You'd better!
-
Do both and get high-falootin' with the dead poet while keepin' it real. Pronger could probably use to read some of the plays and sonnets though. Might culture him up a bit, maybe teach him how to speak in sentences bigger than two words with his wife and children. Maybe even inspire a whole Pronger clan intellectual renaissance. -- Yeah, like that's gonna happen.

This is about my main complaint with pro sports competition, period: it creates an atmosphere where stuff like this may happen. Intelligent souls would never do this, but the bottomfeeders of the people who are attracted to sports -- they're the ones that get dangerous while they're busy getting riled up, viewing the contests. I'd say a lot of people would consider it negligible, that it's more about the people than the fact that it's pro sports - and I'd agree to an extent - but I do believe that rallying behind teams and rooting against others can act as an "on/off" switch for some people out there, and allow the darker aspects of human nature to arise. It happens in many other kinds of venues/scenarios too, but the main point is: it speaks volumes about how easily, and willingly, some human beings will act so mindlessly when they get stirred up by anything, whether music or athletic comp or whatever.

I'd be tempted to say it's a lock. Nick's seriously a more game-shaping, dominating presence than either of those two guys - hands down. The guy's also making a case for the Conn Smythe in this playoff run. The Norris should be all his, not Niedermayer. I consider Pronger decidedly unworthy of the trophy.

Is this true? He combo'd twinkies and grapes? loo, if you could confirm this idiosyncrasy of the Dominator...
