Talk about pwning the forumites, Rabs. Time to take you out for a celebratory round while you're ontop of the world. Don't ever let the bastards get you down. "It isn't actually a bone at all. It's a nerve!"

Dano is definitely displaying supernatural characteristics lately. He has the unnaturally pale skin... the dead stare in his eyes wherever he's looking despite his intensity, and ontop of that, the lupine-like beard manifesting on his face. It's true: he is undoubtedly the guy who co-starred with Kate Beckinsdale in Underworld 2. The man is an undead shapeshifter, people, and will rip out your jugular with his teeth if he doesn't get to Phaneuf someone soon.

That scoreboard clock is sharp! It's pure sharpness and any self-respecting Lang sig ought have Bob's "I SCORED!" face and that in it. Speak of a whiney thread turned great, redeemed on the power of a topnotch signature and a conciliatory mend between HoH and Mr Sandman, it is enough.. to make kings and vagabonds believe the very best.

Just so you guys know, the Rally Bird and the Wings flew back in this afternoon. They'll have a day or two to be acquainted with their wives, their children, their farm houses and cattle on the edges of the province, then it'll be time to be called back to war. They will be as fearsome for Babs as Maximus was for Marcus Aurelius.

I'm the kind of person who doesn't like assumptions into people's character either, so I know, not asking the condemnatory question itself would have been the best road. I very much agree. I haven't been around the forums too heavily the past couple days... so in all fairness I've been aware of the guy's questionable status on the forums (like with Matt's thread on him), but I haven't had the time to spot it myself here. And no, not at all! You don't upset me, Loo, far from that. Merely this: the question and the response seemed - if assuming - then at least lacking the usual spirit I see out of bonafide trolls... and I could have seen many a good fan wondering it (in a non-"why is that ******* not taking his helmet off? way). I'll probably get some time to research the guy over the weekend, I simply decided to give that question and his response the benefit of the doubt. I wouldn't say he "had his way with me" (Loo, that's gross ), but if you and Matt consider him on the border of troll status -- then I'll take that at face value and consider you guys reasonably sane.

Pirates 3.. Mmm... Me either, but at the same time, I've still got that "demanding fan" in me. It'd ultimately be a disappointment... even though in the back of my head I'd know this wasn't a year that the organization itself expected that. They've come this far and proven so much, it'd be such a letdown regardless of pre-season predictions. We're in the Western conference finals, and two games away from the Cup series. I want that hardware.

Snow was incredible(-y big) back in the day. I remember his massive white pads well! edit: didn't want the misconception of thinking Garth was "great" w/o the parentheses clarification

Come on, don't everybody's pre-game predictions of scores have any karmic effect on the games? How can we ever make bets between friends if we have no power over chance and the whims of the universe? But right. I hope that same fate to be theirs!

How in the world is that "making up things"? Imagine for one second this isn't Dom. Let's stretch this and say that Patrick Roy doesn't take off his helmet playing for the Avs during a singing of the Star Spangled Banner and a San Jose fan wonders about that. I'm not attacking you. What I am doing is asking you to look beyond this and recognize that many an individual could have the same question spark in their mind, whoever -they- are, and whoever the -player- is. No one is out to get Hasek.
-
You're right, it does leave things up in the air, that's very true. I figured though that since he wasn't getting hostile with Loo after she responded the first time, he wasn't coming at it from a "let's goddamm get the pitchforks and torches" angle. He was questioning the guy's respect for other countries, but I don't think it warranted the over defensiveness -- due to this fact: It's a natural question. Anyone sees a baseball player not take their cap off, they'll wonder about it. I wouldn't expect a Black Sox fan to know about, say, some unique thing about Pudge's catcher's mask if we applied the same example there. Seriously, that's ridiculous and myopic.

Hank's started to look good the past couple of games, but particularly the way he was skating last night. He's been next to invisible in the playoffs... yet the guy was charging in with the puck, opening himself up for opportunities, and genuinely starting to look like himself out there. Anyone else notice this? There's no question about that, so--QFT, folks. Homer is of a rare kind. Flip has a ways yet, the guy needs to improve his instinct with the puck, but he's caught my eye all year long -- hence the username. He's smart with it and that's what'll (one of the many things, that is) open doors for him in the future. He so could have had that breakaway last night if he'd feinted then deked the other way, I thought. It was too predictable a move, but he'll learn.

The question was valid, seriously, get off it. It wasn't even accusatory--you started pointing the finger when someone wondered at Hasek's non-removal of the helmet... and assumed that everyone gets broadcasts of the anthem being sung, or has for sure gone to see a game with him in it. Or even that everyone pays that much attention to the guy. Yeah, he's played 14 years, that doesn't mean that fans from SoCal to New Brunswick are going to know the lowdown on Dom's habits. Guy didn't start anything with that one, so lay off. Please don't get all righteously defensive after reading this, either. I merely consider your expectation here of other fans to be ridiculous in terms of the 411 on Dominik Hasek. Again, that question was completely valid, and non-hostile. It is totally reasonable to not know, believe it or not.

"lolz" of the hour. The Olympia is indeed only a legend, a thought, an idea in my head too In terms of skill it really was either the Ducks or the Canucks to look strong finishing the season, but considering the way the playoffs have went... we've really gotten a bit of a "real run" with who we've played. These were all top teams for us, whether or not Calgary ought have been a real threat to anyone else.

Why in the f*** can't the Wings seal the deal? All they had to do was win this game to nearly ensure the Cup finals! -

This upcoming pk only means that Dano's gonna get it back. The guy's due for a out of the box breakaway. *crosses fingers, says hail maries, so on* -

They're talking Dano up between the periods. I hope that guy shovels a third one in tonight. -
I think she said earlier that the hit in question was irreputable. Not that there's outrage over it. Even if a guy on your squad does something nasty, that doesn't make you or your team any less frustrated over the loss.

I cracked up. And I've seen that before, so it speaks volumes to the laugh-factor.

There's a difference between paying attention to guys' injuries and then all-out trying to end their season. It's legit to keep on a guy if he's hurt, but the other thing crosses a very stark line. Quoted for significance.

Last night I was out and skipped the game, but spotting a youtube vid of it is just disgusting. It's over here, if it hasn't been posted in the 10 pages before this: Pronger + usual douchebaggery yay! I've heard Ducks fans mention his antics while he was in Edmonton and I remember pretty well that run he made on Yzerman, which - full-on with justice - wound up wrecking his own knee for that playoff run. The guy deserves five games... if the league actually grows some balls and decides these guys can handle the consequences of their actions, then hell, I'd even accept one. A measley one game suspension for an elbow with no regard to another player's well-being. We only need to win that to set up winning the series.
