Nah, it hasn't. That statement is lazy--all that's happened here is some nhlpa guy becoming suspected of being a ****** and trying to figure out who disapproves of him by questionable means, and maybe about to become caught. It's no different than a ton of other stuff in life.

The first thing that gelled in my head after reading this: Bert + Pink = AWESOMENESS But he won't be back by the 18th. So my next pick is Cheli. I believe he would be easily the most qualified player on the team to lift the renowned "pink stick."

It depends. I think someone can have both of what they want, but it's rare and gets more difficult per how picky they are. Way to go, life. And besides... have you forgotten so soon? J Dub is only five hours away now, Bobby, he's not gone. Don't be bitter!

Cheli, post-jocu: Damn, thought I really had some star power left. I ain't that bad now, am I? It's gotta be time to retire. All of these are some pretty damn awesome stories! I remember the '93 squad too from that ice-dinner story someone mentioned... and running across Babs, Kenny, and the two ACs would be super cool too. The supreme story to me though would be of someone who might have been on the workstaff for any of the post-Cup winning restaurant celebrations. Seeing a whole team in a hotel is unbelievable, but seeing them in the party aftermath would be funny as hell.

I do. On the flipside I'm vaguely attracted to the idea just to do breakfast + hockey for one and one time only (seriously, that's a one-two punch like someone being hot and having the personality of your dreams is nearly perfection, you just gotta combine them if you can hit JLA that early) .. but yeah, honestly the game ends and by the time the evening comes around you're like, "What? There was a game today? ...Oh, yeah." It'd be smart if someone interviewed part of the team about the early noon start. I still think that 3p is too early a start for hockey, let alone noon-time... people usually are trying to do other things, -then- sit on their butts to watch later.

It definitely isn't playing hockey in a backyard flooded out rink on your pa's farm somewhere in Canada, that's for sure. Even though the idea of having a bunch of pillars in the way is just agitating as hell.. I'd be down with giving that a try. Talk about suddenly having the force of Todd Bertuzzi on your side if you spin past one of 'em and your buddy isn't wise to his surroundings for an instant. Only this version of Bert doesn't even need to move to take the other guy out.

Gizmo, some of these are great shots! Man, I'm curious about the stuff that wasn't "the best" of the shots that you picked to post up, they all look interesting. And that long-ice shot of Oz and Vokoun way down on the other end... is pretty cool, head aside. That shot of Dats in warm-ups I like too. But I'm afraid this is my fav: Ozzie looks so damn sad! The saddest goaltender in the world ever to hold a martini.

That is classic Indy, it is no mere likeness to soap operas. It is man action (/ with a little drama and side-plot romance for you ladies). ROBERT LAND AND THE RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK has the ability to open to rave reviews. Some of the team already have seen previews: Lids: Well y'know I saw it and I thought it was good, but I just kept being nudged by Ozzie and he was saying, "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!?" Lebda: Yeah! This kicked ass. Indy has no fight-strap--I need no fight-strap. I mean, Robert Lang. Sorry Bob! Drapes: Yeah, this film sucked ass. I seriously barfed out my popcorn. Maltby: What he said. Homer: Ehhhhhh, it was good. There wasn't enough fighting though. Write in more fighting. The Detroit Griffins onhand: This is the crap we gotta watch around you suckers? Send my ass back to the AHL pronto. I'm out. Rex: I thought Indiana - er, Bob - was my hero! I love this movie! Is there another coming out? Calder: You Wings are frigging nuts, man, it's some Czech guy replaying a basic Indiana Jones story of adventure and exploration. And some of these guys are eating it up like cake. Instead of pushing sixty+ and trying to put out a movie, they just got some guy who can't act. What the hell's the US coming to. Bert: That guy slacked off all throughout the film. If I were there, I would've just made him get familiar with the top rope on the ravine-spanning bridge myself. In-cre-dible.

One of the weird but revealing quotes was this. It was oddly like, Freudian or something: "Therefore, big brother truly does suck, and we like nothing more than beating the sh#t out of big brother whenever and whereever we can.....so that some fine day.....he might one day acknowledge that we are at least his rival, if not his equal." I never got the "hate better teams" thing though, neither have I even ran across it amongst Lions fans who, out of all D-town's four teams would have the largest reason to for whatever reason start getting irrationally irate. I dunno though, different strokes and different folks.

What's even funnier? Seeing all four guys lined up together and then Hank alone on the other side. It so reminds me of MyCircle commercials! Is there anybody out there that wants to do a quick photoshop before tonight? Also Rabi... he is lazy and he does suck. There will be no savior for you in this. Don't get your hopes up too high!

I agree, looking in places just to reinforce pre-held ill opinions is pretty dumb. It's like strolling down the street out of the bar drunk, looking for a fight. There's no point to it. I think talking about this stuff is fine, so long as it doesn't (though it often does) get into the "lololl!!! look at them idiots!!" territory. Ideally it works though, right?

I saw on a 'Behind the Scenes' Preds SI photo gallery that both goalies are freaky baldies. This means we must take them down.

However I think that's mostly the boredom of waiting for a lecture to start that's talking. But also the sincerity of wanting to see the guys take on the Preds and bounce back from that game we will never speak of again. =p These two things make me happy hockey-wise for the interim: 1) Babs showing progress on the twelve step coaches' program for 'Well uh, they were just uh, the better team tonight and the scoreboard really show- uh-ed it,' with this quote: "That's a cop-out," Babcock said. "They were ready, and why weren't we?" I knew you could do it, I knew you could. 2) The news from the NHL that team members acquired 3-7 days prior to the trade deadline will be allowed to wear these on the ice. I'm thinking it'll give any of our corner-scrumming forwards at least a 4' radius from the opposing team, which is perfect. Behold again if you already saw: That zany Bettman, you never know how he'll try to liven up the sport!

The Joe last I checked has beefy security guards at each section exit to ensure for this etiquette. Well... more like not-so-beefy women (but sometimes). Most people I've seen have been pretty good about that when I've gone.

Yeah, it did get a bit, but I don't think that warranted deletion... I gotta wonder when it got canned though, I didn't even notice until someone brought it up. If it had to be trashed, it'd make sense if it got trashed when the fires were blazing ..not an hour or two after everyone's interest in Ozzie got iced.

Oh hell yeah Drake, you're my boy on this. I totally agree. Probably wouldn't have got him kept with the organization... but regardless, he did good those games. It was tough not to be fond of him, too. For instance, he's a complete underdog: then secondly, his name is Joey Mac. Can fans not rally around this? His ancestors likely appreciate him in Boston more, however. I can't blame 'em, either.

Yeah, it does suck. You just gotta be patient with people if you don't. It sounds like he thinks it's a big deal though, "all this s***"? He's got a good conscience about it though, a good will about thinking Bert should be dealing with a huger amount of guilt lifelong, 'cos there are some people out there who'd just as soon (ignorantly) applaud Bert for some half-cocked reason... trust me, I've seen way enough of that out there. Luckily this is one of those things that totally doesn't impact relationships! Or shouldn't!

Or the game on the 14th. I'm thinking of going to that one, it's a Wednesday, but it could be worth skipping a lecture for... it's tough. It's against Nashville, which means it's a great game, but it's also back-to-back and while the boys definitely proved me wrong and showed some unusual grit last time, I'm not sure about going just to get disappointed. I have no clue if any decent tickets, let alone standing room would be available still though. But we'll see.
