I didn't get to catch the game last night, but I checked the highlights first thing later that night... and that pass that Osgood fired 2/3 down the ice to set up Hudler's goal was a thing of beauty. I haven't watched many games this season but regardless, it was seriously an awesome play. It was also a pivotal explanation in of itself of the use of a goaltender who can move the puck well. Who else right now does do you guys think? Aside from Turco, aside from Brodeur. I've always been a fan of these kinds of hands-on goalies but the more you see it, the more you realize how much they can add to a game int he right moment.

I don't pick up what you're saying. Do you mean Stastny was not going to get 178 points after three games into this season. Or that Hudler will not be the second coming of Datserberg. If you go by the month of November, Hudler is on pace to score 57pts in 57 games. We could deal him for Heatley!

Hudler is a streaky goalscorer.. Hudler is in his second year. He hasn't had time to "be" anything habit-wise. Good or bad. And also to make sure from the OP, I don't think Hudler will -ever- touch 40. I like LGW's optimism though.

I looked at some replays.. he definitely shifted his weight high into it. It wasn't dirty though, although I do wish we had somebody who could seriously smoke him after. Lilja was the necessary guy to stand up but somebody who intimidates would be even better.

Ok, so snapshot from the JLA crowd at tonight's game: The jumbotron was flashing the random Flames fan in the stands and showed this one couple twice (guy's in a Calg jersey, girl in the Dtown), and the second time he gets up and shows off the McCarty back, to rave boos.. afterward she kisses him on the cheek after "to support her man", then some guy in our section (far far away) yells "Skank!" It was kind of funny. In that limited way that a guy calling someone else a skank possibly can be.

oh s***! I was yelling "DON'T go down. DON'T GO DOWN LILJA!" when the fight started. I knew it'd end fast with someone losing their balance. But you hope, you know. It's only been a couple months since my last trip to the Joe... but my God, how barren that place looks. The lower bowl--stripped. The loudest it was was after the game was in hand and the Jumbotron was flashing the usual "MAAAAAKE SOME NOOOIIIIISSE!!!" The seats may be sold, but it just looks so bad. It was a good game though!

This is great! It truly is a good sign, I have no idea what they were thinking with the instigator rule... it's like Prohibition, make fighting illegal, bottle it up and tie guys' hands and bad crap might happen. Anyone can imagine outcomes from that scenario. Now we just need more people who can benefit from the instigator being dissolved!
