We will whisper of it in the hallway before practice however, to instill a spirit of fear in some *cough*lazy*cough*pizza-eating players out there, who may or may not be on the Wings roster. We need some kind of leverage, Rabi.

Oh yes! Sorry for not pming back yet. By the way, who are the Saginaw Spirit? I haven't heard of them before.

Only with a near death punch to the head. Okay... I am always going to want to wisecrack about that, when it's not funny at all. I need help.

I'm in your camp on this one. His questions are so retarded too--I feel bad for players having to answer them. "Is hockey hockey, or is it different here?" "Well, you know hockey's hockey..." I could ask better ones sleep deprived and suffering cocaine withdrawals, easy.

It's a pro-wings crowd at every center. If you ask Phoenix, however, they report otherwise. "Who are these 'Red Wings'? I see a bunch of guys with a wheel, attached to a wing, but we don't know who they are or their purported 'fans'. We only have Coyotes fans 'round these parts, savvy?"

It's looking pretty dull, I agree. I mean, it got so blaise out there for a second that Lang passed -his own stick- behind his back to himself. Did you see that? And thank you Dom, you made a smart journey out for once.

I never was that enamored with him, so not a whole lot really. And sir, change your username! "MY GF Thinks I'm The Best" is so much better. Also, verify that this is the truth before changing it, too.

Since when did they play emosaur My Chemical Romance music in hockey arenas? And Brett Lebda needs a haircut. Beware those close-up bench shots.

He would under normal circumstances, but he and Lang cut a deal earlier. "You don't make me look bad by scoring, I take you to Disney World. Comprende?" Willy desperately wants to meet Mickey Mouse.

..uh... what? We have the rest of the team still, I don't know how Z makes the squad go from "just rookies" to "accomplished veterans." I'm not really going to bother making a prediction.. we'll see what does happen tonight. I'm more interested in watching Calder than anything--well, you know, aside from Dats picking up for Hank, and Lids doing some power play point magic. And Lang to stay true to the mantra "he's lazy and he sucks."

    "Henrik Zetterberg is not exciting"

Thanks Rabi Me too... it's too bad that quality stands out most rarely, when it is a very impacting one. Make sure to raise your and Z's kids with lots and lots of it, okay?

what teams should keep there 3rd jerseys?

It does look badass in its own right. You know what I'd change about it though? I think I'd want to put a solid navy stripe near the bottom to break up the neon sea. But that won't matter next year, of course. I agree though. Heck.. it'd be a badass jersey to wear doing some roller hockey in the summer in city parks, too. On another note, anyone ever hear of this Blues third jersey? I never did, until today. This is an incredible find. Blue like jazz, my friends, from here It ranks with these guys, too. Show these jerseys your love: The Worst NHL Jerseys, ever.

    "Henrik Zetterberg is not exciting"

"The key part of that sentence: “He wouldn’t tell you that.†But he knows it." That's the part that I like the best out of the article, I think. Honestly.... I feel pretty strongly about this, about humility in the NHL, and I can't tell if Z's humility is present because he hasn't accorded yet the same acclaim that Ovechkin and Crosby have, or if it's because of the simple way he is... I feel it -is- because of who he is, though, from what little people see of him in interviews or his plain mannerisms elsewhere ...but I secretly think the fame and entitlement handed over to individuals like those other two superstars has a lot of potential to ruin who they are, as a person. When you're handed a lot of attention and respect, and power, I figure that the greater number of people would let that go to their head and wreck one of the best and most worthwhile aspects of what makes people who they can be. I have no idea how Zetterberg, or Crosby, or Ovechkin actually are outside the rink, past the media, past the video cameras and recording mics, past all the attempts to feed the information back to the awaiting audiences, so that is completely out in the realm of unknowability to the media. However, simply put, the impression of no ostentatiousness and the simple knowledge on his part that he -is- that good, without feeling the need to make a big deal about it, that is very impressive to me. I would admit it even having an element of beauty, aside from how respectable and truly mature that is for a man in his mid-twenties. I think I could go on as to why this is an important quality.. in players, or people, period, but suffice to say, this often separates the greatest team players from your regular skaters, and without a doubt from the ones who have themselves foremost in their minds when they approach not only the ice arena, but life itself.

    "Henrik Zetterberg is not exciting"

That was when he didn't have his teeth. With the dental work, he won't keep his mouth shut anymore. I wonder how vocal he really is out on the ice? Or any of them for that matter? I kind of nearly wish that announcers were abolished and mics were set up all over the rink just to listen to the players, hehe.

what teams should keep there 3rd jerseys?

It's an appropriate new thread. The only recent one mentioned the Canucks, then diverged into the Ducks... this league-wide topic would get lost in there. So, what teams should keep their 3rd jerseys? I believe the whole of LGW is unanimous on this. The Babys*** Preds jersey ought to be kept! It is an attention grabber and will propel the NHL into a new era, in my insanity ravaged opinion... if Nashville manages to win the Cup, then fans all across North America will buy Babys*** jerseys and forget they were Detroit fans at all. Instead of the red winged wheel at Chicago vs. Colorado games, you will see the most splendid yellow in the stands. Babys***. It's the new NHLâ„¢. ..Actually though, these are my top picks. Colorado, Buffalo, Boston, Toronto, and Florida are all gold. The reasoning: Buffalo just straight up still looks good and carries the history of the franchise, Toronto/Boston are no-brainers, Colorado has that old-style Rangers feel, and Florida? NHL needs more red, besides: the blue just looks boring. Atlanta could also then use its third jersey... and not have the same exact color pattern as the Panthers, too. (...although secretly I'm kind of partial to the University of Maine colors, but only if they darkened that shiat up more) The Oilers almost get a nod, because the dark blue/silver/white just is good. The logo could be tossed... and when it comes to the Rangers, honestly, I've been waiting for the moment they'd toss that annoying Lady Liberty logo. It sucks, sorry, though I'm happy for the people who do like it. And I'm tempted to keep the Islanders jersey... but I think that's simply because the winter is getting to me and all I want to see are some bright, non-babys*** colors. The non-babys*** part is the most important qualifier here.

    For a minute there..

Per the title of the above article. Then I realized, "wait, no, he just means playing this season, period." Way to get my hopes up! hahaha ...I thought this excerpt was fantastic though: "I don't remember any of it, any of the shift or the collision. I've seen it," said Shanahan, who spent one night in the hospital. "The first thing I remembered, it was actually kind of a nice feeling. I heard the fans chanting my name. They kind of woke me up. The reason why it was a nice feeling was because I thought maybe I scored." --Ira Podell/Associated Press Oh, Shanny, you are the best. Get well soon, sir.

It wasn't an on-ice pass if I recall: for that matter, I don't think it was even intended as one. It floated past or between Kronwall's legs, hit Fors' stick, and went in. That's what strikes me twenty+ hours later, at least. Also... I heartily urge you away from bashing Kronwall. He will blueline your ass in an instant.

Wings have made an Offer for Jason Blake

Drapes isn't soft in -that- sense of the term, but he isn't able to throw the body around. When he's retaining puck possession down in their zone, like, there was an example last night, he's able to fight off the attention of defenders while he's trying to wheel down there, but if they get him, he's gone. He's also good at trying to fend people off when he's coming one-on-one down the side or right down the middle on a near-breakaway, but if he had more size, he'd be the kind of player to muscle the D-man right out of the picture and bolt, instead of having to fight them all the way. Kris is a damn good player, but he does have his limitations as anybody.
