2/11 GDT: Flames @ Red Wings

Oh, you are going to die, die hard. Crazy Albertans.. HR40 already said that Z will get a goal tonight... so I'm bankin' on those powers of prophecy. I just got a (totally non-rational) feeling about Lidstrom tonight, so we'll see if this is it for him. Other than that I really don't know where this game is gonna go.

hahaha, what? Sean Burke from an announcing gig? That sounds incredible. I feel for LA.

    ok, besides...

It depends too on who we'd give up in a trade. I'm wondering what we'd lose if they did bring Forsberg to Detroit, it's not something I exactly look forward to.. as the guys worth their stuff on the team look good to keep for the coming years, and the ones that'd be good to ditch, well.. ..yeah, the league knows they're ditch-worthy too. =p Other deals though, no idea. I don't keep up on stuff around the league too much. Would another defenseman beside and -around- Schneider, and Chelios's caliber be useful? I'd be down with someone adding a definite dynamite physical presence back there, too. Not just in the front. That would just make me happy to know and see two or three guys laying out some good checks and showing that side of the game, also, with the usual style the team has. God knows they can use some genuine tough players all-around the ice.

    Peter Forsberg

That is the best. They could start an "underground sister city" thing with us! Eventually we'd infiltrate and claim Denver for our own. I think with Forsberg, if he's actually what the Wings could use (I still very much think that something grittier would be needed--if they make sure to get that -along- with him, then fine, but Fors isn't enough), I can see him playing on the squad.. that doesn't bother me much, even though he's a strange fit indeed. I don't see him staying with Detroit though. I don't remember the time left on his contract, but due to the past Avs/Wings rivalry, I don't see him particularly caring to stick around for long, regardless if we win the cup this year. I'm sure he'd rather take up elsewhere in the league faster than the motor city. However, that's just a guess at his mindset

Let's change your "Champion Forever" to "Hasekian Voice of Reason" por favor. Yes? I think so. I aim to be awesome. And me also. I haven't seen Calgary or Philly this year so I don't know what to expect from them for MacD, so we'll see what he has to face off with. I just want to see him do well, probably because it's easy to sympathize with someone "trying to make it into the big time" like he is. =D oh, and HR40? I kind of dig you too. Don't let it go to your head though!

I just wish people would start recognizing that as a logical argument. It'd make things so much easier, right HR? right! I'm so glad you agree. On goaltending, this isn't a test for Joey Mac only, because after Tuesday night's outing against St. Louis I'm thinking it ought'a be a test for the guys to play good in front of him. I loved his play Tuesday night, and when I say loved I mean loved. To the point of tip-toeing the line between "yeah I'm a man *burp* you did great" love and "Joey D, will you - will you - will you - marry me?" love. Yeah, like that.

    Shanny has an Agenda...

Ideally, but control freaks who'd put a metal clamp over some people's mouths if they had the power will always exist, everywhere. Sadly, that isn't just people involved in corporations and businesses, but I agree. It's like the a quote from the article that Loo posted in the "Shanahan rips refs" article on page four. "We don't muzzle our players," NHL vice president Colin Campbell said, when asked if Shanahan would be fined over his remarks that NHL referees don't give Ranger teammate Jaromir Jagr a fair shake. "We're not happy that Brendan Shanahan chose to be critical of our officials but he is, within limits, free to say what he wants. Like, yeah, bulls***. "We're the NHL, we don't muzzle our players, and we respect an open forum--look how upstanding we are--but oh yeah, uh, we don't like it when they do talk. Oops. That is in no way a contradiction though, talk to our legal guys." People who can't handle and try to kill critique just stink of fear, end of story.

Lidstrom doesn't like current schedule format

To retire at thirty-eight would be a damn shame. And considering his style of play that people wisely mention... physically he could easily pass through his early forties, I think. Nick's a steady all-around player, I don't see age pulling him down much. He just glides and works out there. However, him retiring wouldn't be as much about his body, I figure. He was considering relocating to Sweden's leagues for his family's sake a few years ago, wasn't he? If he does end it after next year, I get the impression it might be due to the personal life stuff more than anything. I feel that would be too early... however, this is and always will be just a game, after all.

2/7 GDT: vs. Phoenix Coyotes, 7:30pm EST

One of these days he will score a natural hat trick upon a return to the line-up. And then go back to sucking. He will at least have had the second to last laugh however, which to him, counts more than you know. Roenick was an ass for that hit though. You know how guys' bodies are near the boards after following through on a shot... and that bodycheck didn't need to be like it was. Hit him, but don't drill the guy, not like that, not there. It makes me wish he'd just have hung up the has-been skates already and not been there tonight. But Hank's goal was gold. I'm thinking that stalled wraparound was even intentional... that he knew Cujo would follow and easily get to the other side of the net, so he wouldn't bother with an ice-level wrap. At first I thought he only did it because he saw him cover the area, but it looks like Z didn't even make that move for the post. "You did good, son."

2/7 GDT: vs. Phoenix Coyotes, 7:30pm EST

It wasn't jaw-droppin', but it was smart as hell! Like, how many players think to go around the net on the goalie instead of driving to the front? That's basically what makes it damn good.

A Car Crash In Slow Motion

Some other controversial stuff gets the same fan treatment too, it's amazing. Take a look at youtube comment lists of Bertuzzi's career-ending incident and you get some Canucks fans spouting off with "that guy deserved to get put in the hospital, blah blah blah!" People in general are idiots, I conclude. I haven't looked at any of the threads for Avs/Wings vids, but I just know they're there. "ya.. lemmmieux was god, he fsuked up draper good, ahhh!!!!1 it was great." Yeah, way to go in-breed, obviously watching a human being get harmed on a potentially disastrous scale is entertaining. All in the name of your bizarre manner of team-worship. Obviously real life doesn't actually happen on that sheet of ice, does it? :nonono:

    NHL 2k7 or NHL 07

Ign and other sites pretty much say the same thing, the gameplay's better, all in all. I haven't picked 2k up yet though. Anyone know off-hand what the differences between the current-gen and next-gen versions are? If any graphic-lovers out there want an aesthetically superior game, then look no further: this is the showstopper There'll never be another like it visually. And has any game since ever captured the likeness of Dallas Drake, Shawn Burr, Ray Sheppard, or Dino's pixelated faces as accurately? It's hands down. NHL 94, son.
