It would be funny, except it's true. My team is currently putting together a Detroit Lions calibre season. Winless in 20 games and counting. Man do we suck. As for Osgood, I don't think he needs to put up numbers like last year for the Wings to win a Cup but he does need to be consistent. Oh, and stop a breakaway every once and a while. That would be nice.

Wow. I never thought Babcock would put him in 2 nights straight. I guess that's why Babcock coaches the Wings and I'm a player/coach on a last place beer league team in Grand Rapids.

I can't believe some of you effers are still busting on Samuelsson. I guess those two goals in game 1 against Pittsburgh last spring meant nothing. I got news for you guys. Not every player on the team can be a superstar. Samuellson has a specific role on this team and I think he does fine. Cut him some slack. Besides I thought Kopecky was the designated scapegoat this season.

You guys are preaching to the choir. Try posting this on the fan boards in Boston or San Jose and see what kind of response you get. There's no arguement that Lidstrom is still one of the top defensemen in the league, but there's a couple of guys out there having a pretty damn good year.

Abdelkader's played a grand total of 2 games and 18 minutes of ice this season. Hard to get much of an impression. -
Daniel Larsson is tearing up the AHL right now. .924 svp, 2.31 gaa, 5 shutouts in 21 games. I say they give him a chance before throwing a truckload of cash at a high priced free agent.

I went to the game hoping to see an Abdelkader goal and wasn't disappointed. GR dominated the first two periods on both sides of the puck. -
Weekes played OK last night. He was the third star. Too bad the rest of the Devils mailed it in. 20 shots allowed in the first period. Ouch.

I'm not really surprised he's tearing up the AHL after what he did at MSU. Let's see if he can keep it up for an entire 80 game schedule.

Hey MSU fans, former team captain Jim Slater is in the lineup for Atlanta tonight. He was born in Petoskey so I bet he's going to have friends and family in attendance. Atlanta's still going to lose though.

What is Detroit's record against Quenneville in the playoffs? 5-0? I know he was with the Blues when Detroit was knocking them out of the playoffs every year and last year Detroit swept Colorado. Never mind. I looked it up myself. Detroit knocked him out of the playoffs in 97, 98, 02, and 08. Hmmm... There's something familiar about those seasons.

From the article.... In case anyone is interested, this is covered under Rule 14d in the NHL Rule Book. No playing Coach or playing Manager or goalkeeper shall be permitted to act as Captain or Alternate Captain.

Abdelkader is a prototypical Babcock type player. He's got some size, some speed, and some grit. That's the reason the Wings signed him last spring rather than leaving him at MSU for another season. He'll probably be on the short list for callups if and when the injury bug hits.

I play at Southside Ice Center in Grand Rapids on the Over 40 league. I'm captain and 2nd line center on the worst team in the league. Our record last season was 5-21-0. But who cares how bad we are. I get to play hockey every week and drink beer in the parking lot after the games.

Yelle was putting up 45-50 points until about two seasons ago. Last year 20..... I could be wrong but I don't see him regaining his scoring touch with Boston.
