Its not hate pointing out that his weakest aspect is 1 on 1 defending.

Monster is only 5-3 with a GAA of almost 3.5 and save% around .900 since the turn of the year while getting quite a bit more goal support from the team. Monster more than outplayed Howard at the beginning of the year but hes come back down to earth with his play and is showing more of his true colors. With the way Howard has been playing lately he might have been able to pull it out the same way he did against Boston.

I know there is a section for ticket exchange but I dont think enough people go to it to see this in the time crunch before tonight's game. If mods could let it stay up until tickets are sent and delete then it would be great. I have two tickets tonight that I cannot use and the person that was going to take them is backing out. Unless he walks into Grand Rapids and scores a hat trick in his first 3 games Id say you have a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing him with the Wings. Remember hes been playing against kids. Lets see how he does against men in the AHL.

Boston is the best team in the East but Detroit is 3-1 against them this year. Does this mean Detroit can handle them in the playoffs? No. Like others have said the regular season means nothing in the playoffs. They are a completely different beast. Detroit can be a dangerous team. Every team in the playoffs is a dangerous team. The thing the Wings have going for them is that despite the struggles theyve had this season they always seem to play above there level against the better teams in the league. The problem this year is so many lost points to the lesser half teams. Regardless of if Pav or Hank come back the key to the Wings postseason is not either of them. Its all going to be on Howard. If he plays like he did the last month last season and the playoffs the WIngs can steal a round or two even without Pav and Hank.

And there will always be more people bashing him than defending him. You conveniently forget to mention the two big saves Howard made in the 2nd when the Wings were pushing with momentum. Then Kronwall lazily goes for a puck and gets steamrolled by Thomas freaking Vanek leading to an easy goal. Totally killed the Wings momentum the last 10 minutes of that period. But yep its all Howard. Why do all the bashers always seem to bring up Lundquist saying he did this and he did that so why can't he Jimmy? Newsflash people.....Howard is not Henrik Lundquist! Lundquist is an elite goalie. Something only 2 or 3 guys in the league can claim. You can't use ones play to try and bash the other because they are on different levels. Its no different than saying that Crosby can score 110 pts a year so if Datsyuk can't then hes s*** and isn't playing well. Can Howard play better? Sure, but so can 10 other guys. That is the most telling stat for the season. Your not supposed to win many games you trail going into the third. Your expected to win a lot more than they are when leading going into it though. So many lost points.
