Huskins and Lashoff have been the best defenders and have played half as many games as the others. Who saw that coming?

I dont see tonight going well tonight. Wings get more energy with Helm but I dont see Bert bringing much. Minnesta 4 Wings 2 (Brunner PP, Fil) Between the two teams 2 groins will be lost.

I guess Stevie didnt celebrate on his doublt ot goal in St Louis?? Whether someone celebrates or is low key its all the same. The line is when your taunting your opponents and he didnt cross it. Its ok in the sport to punch people in the face but not celebrate a goal? I loved the reaction and personally would love to see it more in the league. As long as your not running around pointing your stick at opponents its great. It was quite the skillful goal as well.

The Wings are at the start of a transition. The talent the team needs to fix this team is in the system just not NHL ready. I'm predicting after failing on Suter and Parise the Wings moved on to patching the roster as best as possible until that time. That would explain the Sammy signing. Honestly although it would frustrate me to watch the next two years I wont mind this movement. In the long run it will be better for the team. The wings arent 1 or 2 big signings from being a contender like they have been for so many years. There are to many holes to fill that way. They need some production from the system. Then big signings will come into play.

Because a 3 second clip of Budd saying "Last minute of the period" three times a game takes so much away from the experience *rolls eyes*. Who the F cares who says it.

This isnt NHL13. You cant throw 5 mediocre players into a trade to make it seem equal to get a really good player.

Huskins played very well last night. For a guy sign for a team and be in the lineup 8 hours later he went beyond my expectations. Other than the last 8 minutes of the game Dallas was the better team and deserved the win. Nyquist wasnt very good. Despite the lack of offence I am real impressed with Brunner. The puck just seems to find him in scoring chances. Hes got to start putting them in but I think that will come. Id rather have a player getting chances but not converting over a player whos just not getting chances *ahem* Franzen. How many times the last two years have we heard Mick say "If only Franzen could get going he could be a real difference in this game"? Howard continues to be the Wings best player and he was the one I was worried most about coming out of the lockout since he hadnt seen game action in a long time. Wings need to get things turned around or this hole might get to big by mid feb.

Ferraro should only get a shot this year if we lose another top 2 player. He just wont be effective playing on the bottom two lines. Not because of Ferraro but because the bottom 2 lines are just so bad right now.

Have a hockey game tonight so cant watch live but will watch the late night replay while at work. Wings 3 (Brunner, Dats, Fil) Dallas 2 (Who cares) Detroit comes out strong for the home opener. Go up 3-0. Penalty kill lets Dallas back in and Detroit holds it off. Maybe throw in an empty netter.

Dont mind the signing. 5-6 dman replacing an injured 5-6 dman. I hope it doesnt effect Lashoff getting more time. Gotta say Lashoff had the best performance of any of our dman the first two games and Id like to see him get more time to see what hes got.

Lashoff earned himself a couple more games even if Big E can come back early.

Big improvement over last game. Quincey is still s*** and Cleary is useless and cant go a shift without ending up on his ass. Chances just follow Brunner around. Only a matter of time until he starts converting on them. The Wings should have 5am PK practice everyday until they learn how to kill one.

Id say 98 million was the major factor. The family thing is convenient to make them look less greedy. Had the Wings offered 110 million and they still go to Minnesota then you can claim the family thing.

Columbus took atleast 1 pt from Nashville tonight and possibly another depending on OT. Theres no guarantee the wings can beat them. That might have been the easiest shutout of Halaks career.

Franzen into the locker room. He'll have just as much impact on the game in there as he has on the ice.

St Louis could put the 4th line out on the powerplay and still score.
