If he goes that just shows that getting paid is more important than competing in the top league in the World. If thats the case good riddance. Id rather have players that want to work and play in the top league instead of taking the easy way out and jumping to the KHL.

Kopecky might play 20 games before his ****** gets hurt again.

Three players gone... what's next for Wings?
GoalieManPat replied to redwashington2000's topic in General
Original poster really needs to simmer down. In reality the Wings only lost Hossa who weve known the last couple days was gonna be the fact. Other than that all they lost was a backup goalie and a player who is made of glass. -
Its easy for people to say "ooo you so dont need that extra 1 million a year" when its not there own money..

Wings Trade thier first round pick to Tampa
GoalieManPat replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
The Wings must be confident that the player they want is gonna be availible a couple picks later. If thats so and you get a chance to pickup an extra 3rd rounder to drop those spots its a perfect move. Especially with how on the mark the Wings have been in the later rounds. -
This thread is 100% FAIL

This post sucks, btw You do realize the Wings do it just as much right. The pens just played harder and fought through it when the Wings did now.

Who Else Thought Lidstrom Was Going to Score At the End?
GoalieManPat replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
So he missed the net or it was blocked? -
Stuart had the most glaring errors. Nobody on the team other than Val really handled the pressure. Wings didnt want to put the work in to get the win.

Who Else Thought Lidstrom Was Going to Score At the End?

I saw it to. For a split second I saw the loose puck and wide open net. I dunno how it didnt go in. I saw no goal reaction so I turned the TV off -
Both teams made mistakes. The Pens just capitalized on them. Whats sad is that its the Pens role players that did the Wings in. Depth was supposed to be the Wings advantage but they didnt show up. Hudler hasnt been seen since the Chicago series. I think its time to file a missing persons for him.

The Wings showing no heart when it mattered most.
-
Actually he gave up a bunch of rebounds out front. The problem was the Wings werent willing to pay the price and stop in front of the net to get them. They kept skating around the net instead of stopping in front and looking for a rebound.

Yes. And game 6 as well
-
If he was hurt that bad that it made him play like that then Babcock really should have pulled him out.
-
And supposedly the Wings were supposed to get dismantled because of the cap after winning the cup as well. Look what happened since then. They have Dats, Zetts, and Franzen all signed up long term and added Hossa. You never know what someone will sign for.

He only had to dive because the other team had just taken it away from him. I felt bad for whoever was on Holmstroms line as they basically had to play a two man game in the offensive zone. Any pass to Holmstrom was just as good as a turnover. The big thing is he was nowhere near an effective presence in front of the net. If he cant do that then he is no better than an AHL'er
-
If you consider turnovers and shots from the boards into dead center of the goalies chest then yes I guess he was one of the better players. Sammy plays terrible D and doesnt score enough to make up for his bad D. He needs to go. Perfect example is the game winner in Game 6. Sammy lighlty taps Kennedys stick instead of taking the body and lets him walk right out front for the goal. Sammy needs to be gone.

Dont you means the Sharks will vie for teh 2nd round.
-
That is 100% how it was. Even with 10 minutes left in the third down 2 the Pens were still getting every loose puck and it was all because they were skating twice as hard as the Wings. How many times did the Wings have one guy carry the puck into the zone and then only one player in with him. Thus having no options and having to turn the puck over. The whole game the Wings never got the 2nd man in on the forecheck to give the first man an option. The Pens did it all series. The last two games came down to one thing. Skating hard. The Pens did it and the Wings did not.
-
Icing or not the first 54 minutes of the game the Wings played like they didnt give a s***.
-
Icing or not hte Wings showed no heart until the goal with 6 minutes left. Thats what lost them the game. That and Stuarts big bet on Pittsburgh. Holmstrom needs to be done. The NHL game has passed him. He completed twice as many passes to the Pens than to Wings today. Hopefully Sammy is gone as well. Hudler has been basically gone since the conference finals.

Some Red Wings that I have really grown to respect in this series
GoalieManPat replied to Psychlone's topic in General
If you mean someone who has been lazy in 9 outta 10 shifts a game and stays to the outside instead of using his body to drive then net then yes there isn't another player like him.
