Thats how all fights should start right there. Get them helmets off, both square up, and let them rip. Anything involving someone fighting with a shield on should not count as a fight and that person should get an extra two minutes for being a *****.

Ive only read the first couple pages of this thread but I can assume what the others are like. I jsut gotta say man you are a freaking moron. The Wings have one of if not he most well rounded teams in the NHL. They can play not up to there potential like they have this season yet still have one of the top records in the league. The Wings brass knows how to run a team and build a winner 100% more than you. Shutup with this weak protection crap to. NOBODY in this league is afraid of McCarty. The powerplay clicking at 33% is quite the deterrent.

Im sorry but "dropping him on his ass" would mean that Lilja woulda had to atleast landed a punch causing him to fall. Not just a hugfest that ended up with one guy losing his balance. After seeing that fight opponents are probably more inclined to take runs at the skilled players knowing theyll basically get a pat on the back from Lilja after.

Ya, because thats not filled with overreactions based on being in the moment of the game. If people are giving up on the Wings then they are truly dumbasses and I implore them to please go root for the next flavor of the month team.

Basically if the Wings are on the road dont expect to get an HD signal unless its a national broadcast on VS or NBC or its an away game that is not to far away like Chicago. When the Wings get on the west coast for example the local stations don't like send two feeds (the standard def and HD) across country.

I highly disagree. If Weight lets up and the kid scootz by him because of it then Weight has let his whole team down because the kid makes a rookie mistake and put his head down. Its Weights job to make that hit and stop the breakaway cleanly and he did.
