Its his first full season with the big club. Give him time. All the time hes spending with Nick, Chelli, and Schneids is gonna pay off on the long run. I think he has also been hurt offensive wise because the wings have basically been a 1 line offensive team the whole year.

We saw 6 Boston goals go in though. Plain and simple that the wings NEED to be healthy in order to compete in the playoffs this year. Plain and simple. The Wings have as good a chance as anyone to win the cup once in the playoffs but just like every other team in the playoffs those who stay healthy always seem to advance further. If this injury bug doesnt go away soon then the wings will be in trouble.

Id rather be on VS then ESPN at this point. Sure the casual sports fan cant flip to hockey and stay watching it but guess what. In the years it was on ESPN they didnt do it anyways. They just kept on clicking through. Id rather have hockey be the #1 thing on an offbeat channel like VS then a 6th sport on ESPN. 1 game a week on ESPN and even less in high traffic months like March when everything on all the ESPNs is college basketball.

96 without a doubt. Losing to NJ then the next year setting the wins record and then finishing with no Cup while the Avs win was terrible.

Welcome. I am a pretty new member myself. As for Vladdie he will never have his number retired in the sense that it hangs from the rafters. That is reserved for players who become "legends" throughout a whole career with the wings. Vladdy didnt play nearly long enough. He is beloved in Detroit for different reasons. Although I do agree that his number will be "unspokenly" retired for a good while.

Wasnt it on the pregame (or was it the first intermission report) where the studio crew was talking about the deal. If its true that the team offered 5.4 million a year yet he wouldnt budge on 5.5 million then its bulls***. Dont go on TV and start crying that you got traded and saying your heart is in Edmonton. I guess 5.4 million a year isn't enough to live on anymore.

Ya it was kinda heated. I was in there bashing Ozzie, later on I accepted the whole team was just as horrible, but I dont remember much actual name calling between people. Must have started getting real bad after I left to get food.

Ya that move was in the first period. I had to call to my roomate to come check it out hoping they would show a replay but they didnt. He was only there for the 1st period so it had to be note. I thought his pass to Flip was quite highlight reel itself. He needled that pass through a couple defenders.

Wings are a puck control pass around team. With 4 on 4 theres one less option for a pass.
