This team has no stars. Besides that I hate to break it to you but you could have Probert, Kocur, and McCarty on this team and they will still get hit. This isnt the old NHL anymore. Teams dont care who you have in the lineup they are going to hit the other team hard. There is a reason teams dont dress goons anymore. They are not effective in the current NHL as all they are is a reactionary role not a preventative one. Granted the team would be a heck of a lot more entertaining to watch but they would still be bad and have injuries. And thinking Franzen would still be playing with goons on the squad is naive. The guy was the made of glass and lacked any desire after getting that contract.

With no wizz troughs where will the fans at the game converse over how bad the team is though?

I think Trashill has officially lost the team. They dont want to play for him or hes to much Babs 2.0 so they are tuning him out. At the start of the season they werent good but atleast you could see them pushing hard to grind some results. Now that they are falling farther down the standings I dont see much heart or urgency.

You are really grasping at straws if you somehow believe that having Mrazek in net makes the team score more. They play the exact same piss poor system with both goalies. In fact if you compare the games they didnt split because Mrazek was pulled the team allow fewer shots with Howard in net while virtually generating the same amount of shots for. One could say they play that piss poor system better with Howard in net.

I think Blashill knows that the next week or two is going to define whether he has a job come the new year. As much as Mrazek fans hate to hear it at this moment Howard gives a low scoring team the best chance to stay in a game. If you were Blashill you would do the same thing. Start the guy who's been the teams MVP to try and save your job. Unless Mrazek somehow finds his game from the first half of last season don't expect him to get a majority of the games until the Wings are way out of the playoff race. Gallant would never come as an assistant. He knows come January when the head coach axes start to fall around the NHL he will the be one of the top names on everyone's list so no sense going anywhere as an assistant.

Exactly. They have a great replacement just sitting there. Even has a great story. The former Wing coming back after being unfairly fired by the perpetual losing franchise he lead to the playoffs and division the year prior only to lead the WIngs to the playoffs for a 26th year.

I know its been overstated but man everytime they show Blashill his face has a look of a guy you just want to punch in the nose.

Its a sad state of affairs when Im ok with Arizona putting up another couple in the 3rd. If the Wings come back great! If the Yotes pop a couple more and utterly embarrass the Wings this is the type of game that really will put the pressure on Blash and be the beginning of the end for him in my opinion. Start an important homestand 0-2. Take on the worst team in the league points wise who played last night and get utterly ran out of the building. A big loss could do more good in the long run than a win.

Maybe some boo's raining down from the crowd consistently might wake the organization up.

If you dont keep Mrazek on the bench because of one bad outing how do you put Howard on the bench after an outstanding outing?
