What is with the love fest with Hudler and Ericcsson? Hudler is only good when playing with stars, if not he's invincible. We saw plenty of that this year. Ericcsson gets burned and is as soft as a wet vagin. The guy is 6'5 and never uses his body. Christ I am 6'4 and I use to crush guy's back in my playing day. Bogosion is the perfect fit for Detroit. Think a future blue line of Kronwall, Stuart, Kindl, Smith and Bogosion add in a FA here and there we should be fine. I have been down with getting Bogo at the beggining of the season. Everyone must remember he has played in Atlanta hence why is stats blow. Give him sometime to learn with Lidstrom bingo bango. Get It Done Holland

Boy I haven't posted in ages. But after watching the preseason so many here have praised Big E. I for one think his time has come and gone. So many times he tries to pinch up on the blue line and gets beat countless times. And for christ sakes use your body it's like watching a ballerina out there. Like everyone I hope he can turn his game around but I just don't see it happening. Bring up Smith or Kindl. Same thing with Stewie stop pinching up so much.

Ok I know there are other threads on this topic but I just read on Eklund "All this while a few rumors are surfacing that Kovalchuk may indeed take a one year deal in Detroit or Philly". Let me know what people think. Not sure we have the money but who knows.

On Hockeybuzz our favorite boy Eklund say's that Pitt, Detroit, Nj and Islanders are high on him. Well this is what it says. On Anton Volchenkov... The Caps are playing hard to get here..they are saying they are out of this, but I am not convinced...The Penguins are extremely interested in Volchenkov as are the Red Wings and Devils. The Islanders may actually be the team who puts the most money on the table for Anton. Much more coming tonight... I know it wont happen but if we don't bring back Bert and use the money to get Anton especially since this will most likely be Lidstrom's last year. Would be amazing if we picked him. Up use the small amount to pick up a cheap 4 line player. What does everyone think?

I know people around here are throwing names left and right, on who Holland should pick up. But one name I havent heard is Richard Zednik. I think he would be great on the wing he makes roughly 1.7Mill why not make him an offer. I know he's not the bruiser everyone wants. But he can play the body and can put the puck in the net. Any thoughts?

Must say if this is true and Leino makes the team I am extatic. This guy seems to be a real deal NHL player. Dont get me wrong I would love to see Helm still with the team but we all know what to look forward to next season. Quincy big deal just glad Ericsson made the team. Big punisher. As for Downey big deal if he gets picked up on waivers everyone complains we need an enforcer, but the fact is we have guys who know how to hit and take hits. The only thing I wish would happen and I know its been beatin to death is a trade of Samuleson. I feel Leino could start in his spot on a line with Flip and Clears. Lets see how this plays out. Cant wait till Thursday will be on my honeymoon watchin hockey. Nothing better. GO WINGS

sweet I too am going to be going to my first Redwings game in Detroit. I am from Minny so I will be going to the Nov 8th game against the Devs, which is killer because my buddy is a huge Devils fan. Anyone know of any great places to eat or what places I should look at traveling to while there. Any info would be greatly apreciated.

This is exactly right. I too am from MN and have lived here my entire life. Became a Wings fan in 94. Now a 14 yr Wings fan in MN. People here are blind and dumb. My buddy in particular. He wants to bet me that the Wild will be in the top 5 of the Western Conference. I just laughed and said your nuts, they lose Rolston and Demitra and pick up Nolan, Miettnen. And hes ready to write them in as cup favs, same with all other Wild fans. Every year I have to just shake my head on how stupid they really are. I have been following the NHL since I was 5. And you sign a few 3rd tier players and resign Bouchard and everyone goes nuts. The funny thing is every year there like we need more toughness and goons. Im like you dont win cups with goons. What if Sundin now realizes the chances of the Wings winning the cup this year is better now with Hossa. Maybe thats what hes been holding out on us all. I dunno its fun to speculate. Again if for some reason the hockey gods makes him sign a cheap 1 yr deal with Detroit, I will cry. Or need help.
