Now the time has come to turn it on. EURO TWIN POWERS ACTIVATE!!

That one has to be high, Sammy!

Unbelievable! They called a penalty on the whiner. Must have been something wrong there for the ref. Let's bury this now!

NBC's Powerplay Angle From The Blueline Is Horrible
ZwedishWing replied to Daniel Chosen's topic in General
Agree! It is awful, especially at crucial points in the game, like that 5 on 3 yesterday. At that level of nervousness the last thing you want is not seeing the puck. The angle from behind the net is much better but still not as good as the ordinary one. These should be used for replays only. -
So what did Sidney Crosby really say to Zetterberg?
ZwedishWing replied to Coolio Mendez's topic in General
"Me and my coach wonder how you can execute with that hairy obstruction in your face. Please, give us a hint!" -
Try this Sopcast link: sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/37499 It should work until Anaheim@Calgary starts. The other Sopcast link doesn't seem to work at the moment.

I think we should put Homer on the C position! Then Z and D can fight it out internally who is playing left and right W. Well, maybe not, but isn't this discussion kind of silly? The team produces as good as ever, and especially that line. Dats is shooting more than ever (I assume), but he has been a bit unlucky. Anyway, noone sincerely can claim that Dats shooting percentage of 3.6 is due to Z interfering with his shots or something. But as everyone with at least basic statistical skills know, such periods occur in the long run. Look at the positive side of it instead. We have one of the best lines in the league, despite one player being icecold when it comes to scoring. When Dats shooting percentage goes up (and it certainly will do) the line will get even more points, more assists to Z and Homer and more goals to Dats. Therefore I actually think this line has more upside coming during the season rather than downside from here. How about that prophecy?

No, he is injured. And Daniel Larsson wasn't playing either so that game wasn't very good for watching future Detroit players I guess. And on top of that Pääjärvi-Svensson that I was talking about was at the bench the whole game.

Interesting article and I agree there are quite many young prospects in the SEL this year. And I also agree that some of the ones getting the main attention in the article are interesting, but if I only got to pick one with the potential to be a real superstar I would go for Magnus Pääjärvi-Svensson mentioned in the "Swedes best yet to come"-section of the article. He really is something out of the ordinary. He's 16 years old and made his debut in SEL this autumn in Timrå. Still he is a fourth-liner with limited icetime, but I think he shows so much talent so I would be very surprised if he doesn't get his bigl breakthrough very soon. For sure he will be one of the ones getting the most interest in the 2009 draft. Unfortunately he probably won't be within Detroits reach due to the draft order. Right now actually there is a game starting at Sopcast between Timrå-Djurgården where you may see him play, even though it probably will be limited time. http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=...mp;part=sports# (VLC media player needed, instructions here: http://85.92.128.155/~myp2p/forum/viewtopic.php?id=20917 )

Niedermayer has always been a f*cking coward. Pronger seems to be the same type of s***.

Don't you see what's going on here?! It is the name!! Before he was Andreas Lilja. Who's that. An accountant? Now he is the PAIN TRAIN!! Who would you expect to play better?! Exactly. It's like the difference between Clark Kent and Superman, or Peter Parker and Spiderman. You can't control when someone turns into a superhero. The only thing you know is that nothing will ever be the same. The only thing now to be afraid of is that someone will find out what is his kryptonite.
-
But still there is not much reason in playing as long as he can't see with the eye. The original article mentions that he still doesn't have proper vision.

I didn't say that it means nothing, but I don't think the Nabokov stats against Detroit in the regular season are of great importance for the outcome of this series. His recent play and current form are more interesting as I see it.
-
Old stats way be interesting but I don't think that would have a huge influence on this series. There are completely different conditions going into the playoffs compared with the regular season. One key as I see it to handle Nabokovs style of play is to stay cool and not always shoot at the first possible occasion. He likes coming long way out of the crease and that could be exploited if you can hold your shot and find a pass in behind him.

Yeah, and a strange one too. I admit that this is not the most reliable swedish source, but they are refering to an interview with Holmström himself and I find it hard to see why the whole thing should be made up.
-
BAD NEWS: According to swedish media Holmströms injury is much more serious than reported earlier. Now he is expected to be out for at least the first three quarterfinal games. http://www.expressen.se/sport/ishockey/1.654261

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
-
What the hell is wrong with the refs. Unbelievable calls the whole game.
-
What a low-class team the Flames are. Is it the Lumberjacks on tour, or what?
-
Stupid ref. How could that be a penalty?!!!
-
That video was hilarious! Haven't seen it before but it was really funny. And regarding Lilja, the name "Pain Train" fits him like a thrown glove. Perfect!

I don't buy this way of looking at it. If an organization starts trading their best, most loyal and hard working players against the players will (unless the player underperforms or causing trouble in some way), they send a message to all other players in the team as well. "You are nothing but merchandise to us! It doesn't matter what you do or how much you fight for the team cause we will trade you anyway." Result will be that you end up with a bunch of really good hockey players only playing for themselves rather than for the team. That's not the way to win titles in my opinion.

Yes, these are the names + Salming. But of course not the almost unknown russian Boris Salming. Btw, Salming was at number 3 on the list. No, the order was different. Don't remember exactly, but Samuelsson and Alfie were higher and Markus Naslund and Steen were lower.
